  1. I stopped in at Tops Daily early this morning (across from the Jomtien Complex and next to La Bocca) to do a little shopping and all seemed normal.

Sometime after that, however, they disappeared and the place is now a FamilyMart!

Wow in just in a matter of hours a change from Tops Daily to Family Mart.

Just 1 question, did this include all the signage or did you maybe walk in the wrong store ? thumbsup.gif

  2. Guyz,

I don't know if its coincidence but after pressing that "key code" I have received since then 3 advertisement SMS

And this is strange as I normally don't receive any, so I had to call Dtac 1678 hotline again to block these Advertisements.

  3. Called a friend who owns a Bar on Sai 2 and she said open normally haven't closed or asked to close Yesterday.

    Just silly rumors.

    What is sai 2?

Question, are you in BKK btw ?? In BKK it wouldn't surprise me that some places are closed. But I have been driving around Pattaya town (as far as Laem Chabang - Bang Saray) all day and I haven't seen any red-yellow protester.

  4. But to watch the content (while here in Thailand) like netflix and Sky news etc you will need a VPN service.

I don't know about Netflix, but Sky News works without a VPN (at least here in the sandpit).

    You are correct, my bad.

  5. It has nothing to do with the Thai Banks or with Scams etc etc

this is an excerpt from a Dutch Bank a friend send me (Translated from Dutch to English)

    ATMs abroad:

At ATMs abroad you can withdraw up to € 500, standard. But beware, this amount may differ by country or by bank. ABN AMRO has no effect on these differences. Do you withdraw money in countries outside Europe? Then you can withdraw up - to € 300, This limited limit applies only to ATMs that are not suitable for the new way of pins. This unfortunately you can not see from the outside of the ATM. With the reduced limit, we can better protect against fraud abroad.

But up to 300 Euros is almost 13K baht, not the 10K baht limit some folks are seeing. I expect the local Thai bank is behind the 10K baht limit.

Pib, to withdraw this amount my friend has go through the following sequence (SCB ATM used as an example)

    - Change Language to English

    - Select withdraw

    - Select Savings account

    - Type in the amount 12.000 THB

    - Accept the prompts about the 180 THB fee and the currency conversion

He has been successfully withdrawing the 12k THB the last couple of days

  7. Just click the report button (under your OP) and type your request and a Mod will be notified. Just asking it here can take a long time.

It does say not to use the report button for anything other than objectionable content. Thanks anyway, MJCM.

I have used that on my own post many times and I have never gotten a message from a Mod or Admin that I am not allowed to use it for those kind of requests.
