Can you check in Control Panel - Windows Update - View Update History with the status of those Installed Updates is ?
If you have status is failed, double click the update in question and check the Error Number

Avast was detecting the Scripts running on Outlook.com as a Threat.
This has been solved already, so you can set your email back to "exclusive".

"Exclusive" in Hotmail is that only contacts can send you email which will arrive in your Inbox. The rest will arrive in your Spam Box.
Strange but it worked for you

If avast warns about malware, it's maybe a good idea to scan with another scanner (second opinion)
You could try these
- Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/)
- HitmanPro (http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/)
- Superantispyware (http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html)

Hull is easy to deal with (when you have the right paper work) and they are also not fussy about not having translations of for example your Kor Ror 2 (The doc that shows that you are still married) as they have a Thai employed, not like other Consulates in the Region (other parts of Mainland Europe).
And I love the 30 minute-1 hour turn around when you visit them in person.

If I understand you correctly, you want to go into a Thai Bank (where you don't have an account) and send money to someone in another province who has an account with a Thai Bank ??
If so, yes that is possible without any problems, ask any bank clerk for the "Deposit Form" .The cheapest would be Same Bank to Same Bank.
For example
Bangkok Bank (Pattaya) -> Bangkok Bank (Bangkok).
More expensive would be for example
Bangkok Bank (Pattaya) -> Siam Commercial Bank (Bangkok)
About the foreign currency transfer, the Exchange Rate is from the Day it arrives in Thailand, and the costs depends if you send the money with OUR (Sending account pays the fees) or SHARED (Fees are shared between the sending and the receiving account).
Example:
Transfer 5000 Euros from Europe (OUR) costs for sending is around 18 Euros and the Account in Thailand does not pay any costs. -
The non-O visa is indeed given to people for various reasons, like retirement and being married to a Thai.
The multiple visa is valid for 1 yeear, each time you enter Thailand during that year you can stay for up to 90 days. By leaving and re-entering just before the visa itself expires, you get another 90 days and so almost 15 months out of the visa.
Your home country will normally issue a multiple, but can demand seeing financials for that. Check with the consulate you will be using.
Yes, the visa should be enough for a drivers license.
Great post Mario2008 and so helpful.
Will get shot if I clarify one wee point?
I'm not married but the gf and I have traceable history back over 2 years.
Would I still qualify for the 'non-O visa'?
Some consulates used to issue for that reason (Visiting Friends) (Hull , Perth) but that has been stopped around 2 years ago, you can try but I'm sorry to say, I don't give you much chance.
Edit : //
An alternative could be a Non-ED visa (going to school studying Thai) consulates could be willing to issue a Multiple Non-O ED visa if you show them paperwork from a School you are "studying".

If one has a retirement visa for 12 months and travel outside Thailand every 90 days:
1. Is there a need for a re-entry permit?
2. Would the trip abroad every 90 days replace the reporting every 90 days?
Thanks in advance
1- a Question did you get that visa at a Consulate / Embassy outside of Thailand ?
1- b Or did you get an extension at a local Immigration bureau ? (seasoning 800k THB etc)
If 1a = yes, you don't need a Re-Entry Permit, you even must exit the country when the 90 Days are over
If 1b = yes you need a Re-Entry Permit, and thus the trip abroad would replace the 90 Day reporting.
When ever you come back in the country, that is day 1.

either way considering just over a year ago these phones were selling for 25-35 k a used one is a bargain now, I'd say you get them for 8-10 k in mbk, next time I'm in Bangkok I will be trading in my iPhone 3g for the 4s.
I will never ever again buy a second hand phone (although I have to admit, I never bought a second hand iPhone) and the reason being, the second hand phone I bought lasted a couple of months then had to be fixed again and again.
After it packed up after the second time of fixing I just threw it in the garbage bin, and bought a brand spanking new one and that is still working perfectly for almost 5 years. However my wife is pushing me to buy a new one (but that's a different story )
I guess my phone must have read this topic, as today my trusted phone has throw in the towel.
Screen is sometimes working and sometimes not, but I am not going to send it to be fixed.
But at least my wife is happy, as I am now in the market for a new phone, and she has the choice (promised her that long time ago)

dont give up i recently had a baby stroller sent over from Germany by DHL and dont confuse with DHL express as it cost 5x more any way arrived in Thailand and then got transfered to Thaipost it then went through customs the value of the stroller was 350euros duty was 1900baht arrived at ChiangMai sorted .
The tax on Electrical items (like a Ps3) is different then on a Baby Stroller, don't know the exact amounts, maybe someone with more knowledge can fill in the blanks.
Found this post, http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/386788-import-dutiescustoms-on-electronic-products/#entry3778237 which describes how to search through the Custom website and find the appropriate 'Import Tariff'

Even in safe mode got the same result. I decided to remove anything and everything Apple, iTunes, iCloud, Bonjour and Quicktime, used a trusted registry cleaner 5 or 6 times, tried again to install iTunes.....same bloody result I'm going the whole hog now, wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows. My computer could probably do with freshening up so this is a good reason to do it.
I am real sorry to hear that, but I was already expecting that, as uninstall will not reset registry settings (they should but that's another story).
I am only wondering how this registry key had it's permission changed, as normal either the User System or someone in the Administrator Group (cq Trusted Installer) is owner of these keys.

I am sorry but I never heard of a TPI Map.
I think the ESRI (or nowadays called NOSTRA) map comes standard with any Garmin GPS you buy in Thailand nowadays. And it's (IMHO) also the best map for Thailand.
And because you live in Chang Mai, why don't you go and stop by Eagle GPS. : http://www.eaglegps.co.th/index.php/lang-en/contact-us

Hi, it all depends how many TR visa's you already have, if you have many there is a very good chance that you "will" get refused.
But the main reason why people don't use it is because it takes too long (as you can see in the previous posts) and most people don't have the patience and rather use Vientianne or the best choice in the Region Savannakhet (both are in Laos)
But as you are already there just try it !!
Regards and good luck
Ps: Looking forward to reading your report

Why not buy one local ?? Could end up much cheaper then ship it.
Don't know why I bother posting on here............
Sorry if you feel that way, but I had something shipped over (worth around 2200 THB) and it costs me around 6000 THB to get it shipped (and taxed) to get it to my house here in Thailand. ! This btw was with Fedex (as I don't trust the local post office)

Are you ?

Ps: I found the Topic. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/183935-thaivisa-launches-online-food-supermarket/ but this was in 2008.
But my guess because of lack of interest it stopped.
