  1. The data rate is definitely set from the TOT end, not yours

so you are being short changed. bah.gif

i always have difficulty trying to log in to my Gmail account, about 50% of times it's OK, the other 50% I am asked to set up a new account. I don't know why they manage to stay in business, it's a good job Gmail is not my main account.

I log in into my Gmail account (as it is my main account) around 10 times every day (I am using ToT 7Mb) and I never get the question asking me to set up a a new account. Sometimes the loading is slow, but most of the times it's reasonably fast.

I think you should follow Noob7's answer and empty your browser history and cache files, for that I use Ccleaner

  2. The 180 Day rule has been stopped a long time ago.

It's quite easy, you only really qualify for a Long Stay visa if

    a ) are you older then 50 years ?

b ) are you married to a Thai National ?

c ) Do you work here and do you qualify to get a work permit ?

    and some other reasons

If you answer No to these questions, then you now only have 2 options.

    - Student Visa (Need to enroll in a official School to qualify)

    - Tourist Visa (however this is not a solution for the really long term)

  3. What happens if you are due to leave (fly out) on the 91st day? Still need to report on 90th day? Any leeway?

I thought I was leaving for a short trip on the 5th Feb but it turns out it is now 12th Feb and I'm due to report on 11th.

You can notify within 15 days before or after 7 days the period of 90 days expires. So you can do it beforehand and then fly out.

If you don't report and they find out, you will be stuck with a 2000 THB fine.

  4. Account name, bank name, IBAN should be all that's required. If he's sending a large amount, maybe send a small test payment first.

Thai Banks don't know IBAN, you have to give him the Swift Code of the Bank

    http://www.bangkokba...dstransfer.aspx

    1. What is Bangkok Bank's SWIFT code and when should I use it?

Our SWIFT code is BKKBTHBK. This is the one and only code for every Bangkok Bank branch throughout Thailand. You can give this to the bank where the funds transfer originates from. It will save the search fees and time.

    2. When sending money from overseas to a Bangkok Bank branch in Thailand, what information should I give to my bank?

You should provide the following details to your bank:

    - Account name in English as appeared in passbook and account number

    - Currency and amount to transfer

    - Bangkok Bank SWIFT Code: BKKBTHBK

  5. For these kind of cards, I would recommend BaNANAIT in Tukcom however they are a bit pricey but all the cards I have a bought there (very recently a 32 GB Micro SD HDC Class 10) are the genuine article.

  6. If you don't mind leaving the country every 90 days, you could get a 12-month visa from Hull Consulate in UK. Leave and return just before the 12 months is up and you'll get another 90 days. So you can get 15 months stay in total (leaving every 90 days). Very easy to get. Was a 2-hour service if you go in person, next day service if you apply by post. When I applied (2010), no need to show money or anything else. just one very short and simple form. I think you may need to leave and return by air every 90 days, although not totally sure.

    What type visa is that?wai.gif

My guess it is an Education visa as the Visit friends visa is no more, but I am not sure Hull will issue Multiple Education Visas and if they do, the OP still needs to enroll in a school as Hull (or any other Consulate / Embassy) definitely want to see proof that he is studying.

  7. I would much prefer to use the extension method myself from inside Thailand, unfortunately myself and quite a few others who work on rotation outside Thailand would find the 30 day consideration period that i hear everyone talking about to be too close for comfort in relation to time of departing for work, anyone know whether immigration would show consideration to this? unfortunately I won't qualify to apply within LOS this time as most of our funds in joint acc,, only hold upwards of the 100k in personal to satisfy the non imm o multi I usually do in KL

If you find the 30 day under consideration too long, I applied last year on 14 June and got a stamp (contact again) dated 10 August, but when I went on 10 August the decision hadn't arrived yet, I finally received my extension on 15 Aug. So I had to wait 62 Days.

Note: This was not my first but my 2nd extension (Marriage) and this was Jomtien / Pattaya Immigration

  8. @swissie, in this post I try to explain the difference between Visa / Extension of Stay for you !

If your Multiple Non-0 Visa has expired (Passed the "Enter before date"), it doesn't have any real value anymore (Maybe only sentimental). After it has expired, you can get an temporary extension at immigration, 7 Days or 60 days (because you are married) (But you only can do this once !!)

After that extension finishes, and you wanna stay longer in Thailand, the only thing what you can do is, you have to apply for a new Visa at a consulate or Embassy outside of Thailand.

But if you follow the procedure which Lopburi3 explained in Post #3, you can get an extension at immigration to stay for 1 year. (You only have to report your Address every 90 Days (Local Immigration)).

If that year has ended, you can go and apply for another extension (another Year) at immigration and this you can keep on doing for years and years on end (Only of course if you keep meeting the requirements)

    Example:

My Multiple Non-O Visa expired in August 2011, but I applied for an extension at my local immigration in July 2011. After approval, I got a stamp "allowed to stay until July 2012".

In June 2012 (my original visa had already expired) I applied for a new extension of stay and got a new stamp, I was allowed to stay until July 2013.

As you can see, my original Non-O Visa isn't valid anymore (expired August 2011) but I can legally stay in Thailand until July 2013.

If in the meantime I want to go back to Europe, I just go to Immigration and get a so called "Re-Entry Permit".

I hope this explains it a bit for you !

  9. You can a 90 Day report only if you got a YEAR extension from Immigration, if you only got the visa at the Savanakhet consulate and you didn't go to Immigration to apply for the Year extension of stay, you have to leave the country before the 90 days are up and thus do a Visa Run.

Question do you have a Multiple or a Single Entry Non-O Visa ??

    Edit: //

    In short

Visa from Consulate and didn't visit immigration to Apply for extension of stay: --> Visa Run

Visa from Consulate and visit immigration to Apply for extension of stay and got Approved: --> 90 Day Report

  10. Sorry didn't see the question until after i posted " ... did you have an up to date Kor Ror 2. " - no we didn't (not an old one either).

Just goes to show that stuff depends on the ''Lady'' at the window who last year questioned the authenticity of my Kor Ror 2 when it and everything else l provided was first class. sad.png This year will also take a pic of me and the mrs outside our house, just in case. smile.png

That is always the best thing to do, always take more with you then necessary just in case you missed / forgot something or they have new requirements.

And also, an updated Kor Ror 2 costs only +/-30 THB. Just think what would it cost you if they send you packing and have to go back into Thailand just for this one form or something else. (worst case scenario of course)
