What was the need for a photo? totally awful journalism!
Most people understand drowning and dont require the article illustrated like a kids comic.

As an online merchant, I can tell you that there is no name check or matching for credit or debit cards in online transactions. The data matched to the card number is limited to: expiry date, 3 digit cvn security code, address numbers (if any), postcode numbers (if any). Nowadays 3DS verification (2FA) by text or app approval is more often also required for online transactions. The airline may want to see the card (pyhsical or virtual) at check-in.
Thanks, likely why the guy using privileged member had no problems.

I've used my physical Kasikorn Visa card online to buy airline tickets with Air Asia, Bangkok Air and Emirates with no problems whatsoever. The Emirates fare was ฿110,000 and it just went through without a murmur. Mind you, I used the Kasikorn App to set the spending limits accordingly to allow the transaction. No problem was encountered because the card name says "Privileged Member" and I always use the name in my passport in full as the card name, as that is the name on the account in the "Book Bank". I can report that the card works in ATMs here in the UK and the six digit pin isn't a problem either. In fifty years of flying, no airline has ever asked to see the card used to buy my ticket.
Thanks for the info soon to book so should work just using my account name. Going to be using it in the UK, called the customer service to confirm activation ok for UK usage and up spending limit, she did warn of 2.5% transaction charge and low exchange rates, guess to be expected better than carrying too much cash until Ive set up a Uk account Wise etc seemingly not so easy to do.

I really don't know but i doubt it,this would mean you can never film people.
Imagine you film a beach scene and there are a thousand people there.
You can film anyone in any public place but then showing that footage on social media without consent is now illegal, believe it was announced on a thread on here during the last year.
But prostitution is illegal in Thailand so guess the thousands of vloggers are not too worried.

Wasnt Thai law changed within the last year, its always been legal to film people in public but it has been deemed illegal to video people then later publish this footage on any social media outlet without the permission of those being featured.

Have you ever used a card online. All cards are assigned to the name of the person that holds the card. Does not matter what it stands on the card. I assumed you have given your name on the account the card is connected to. That will be the name you use.
Yes tried with previous Kasikorn card few years back for Thai smile flight wouldnt work just paid cash at 7/11 with Qr code sent to me.
This time its Thai Airways international booking site and no option to pay in cash at local stores etc although Thai smile offer this option for domestic flight down to Bkk.
But from the responses it seems if i enter my account name i will have no problem, next day or when take the plunge will see, have to increases my transaction limit first ...air fares are outrageous...... but calling Kasikorn call center today waiting waiting waiting....no answer likely because holiday Sunday.

Possible idea if you just pop into some local docs cllinics with the standard form, for myself many times over the years the doc just signs stamps it negative for hiv, elephantiasis, TB , syphilis etc without doing the actual testing, you pay 100 baht or so ...its done........ but things perhaps have changed now and if knowingly positive .... a moral issue i guess.

May I also suggest you apply for a Kasikorn credit card? I have one and it was easy to get.
Yes probably a lot easier but im leaving soon so left it ten years to late.
In theory Thai airways booking with a Thai bank debit card should be simplicity itself ... we shall see.
-
Thanks for responses this is being done on a laptop I dont use a mobile kasikorn app.
So in short using your account name will be tracked matched by software to the card number and transaction completed ......to be confirmed or otherwise soon.
Any one used this card for airline ticket or anything else on line without problems?

I have a recent kasikorn bank debit card activated for online purchase at atm by bank staff.
i wish to use it on the Thai Airways site for ticket purchase, did a dummy run to payment stage clicked the debit card logo,
It requires as mandatory cardholders name , card number, 3 digit security code and expiry date. However the card is nameless just has privileged member on the card.
Under the mandatory cardholders name field do you simply type in your own name or privileged member? seems not an option to leave the box unfilled.
Anyone used kasikorn debit card recently for Thai Airways or Thai Smile with success?

Didnt see it!! will try and find it. guess its in this banking section??

I have the generic Kasikorn Bank email which shows the green picture regarding the new security measures on the banking app.
I only use KBIZ online for phone top ups etc and small transfers only using my laptop.
i do not have any banking apps installed on laptop or my phone and dont want any of the apps think they are the security risk themselves.
Since I dont have the mobile app installed and dont make transfers or purchases over 25k can I safely do nothing.
Or is it mandatory for even the most minor of transfers using online banking on my laptop? currently they just send an sms ref number to my phone which i need to complete transfers this suits me fine. Will max Atm withdrawals 25k be affected.
Thanks for any advice.

Is that the Natural Beach Hotel?
That people did not notice someone drowning is not particularly surprising.
Think you are right, stayed there many times many years ago.

Are you a hunting, fishing, camping, arm wrestling all action sort of guy? or do you just like to carry a knife at the ready in the urgent need to peel some fruit.... during a round of golf.

Its not a joking matter and the Im alright Jack brigade should save their flying club comments!

Best not to take any Valium into the UK. It is a prescription drug and if found in your luggage you could get hassled.
If you have the doctors certificate and or prescription and receipt etc from a hospital or clinic you should be ok with enough for three months, this is following guidance on Uk gov website.

Sorry to break it to you but Thai law sees things very differently. In Thailand, anyone who feels their reputation has been somehow maligned or damaged when photographed or videoed in a public place can make a criminal complaint to police about the person who took the photo / recorded the video and seek damages through a civil action. To be clear, I am not saying I agree with this, but this is the law in Thailand.
Isnt it also Thai law now that if you film someone in public you have to get their permission to publish that footage on social media platforms.....but very difficult to enforce.

That's a heck of a safety net, if true.
When youve been out of the country and the system for years and below pension claim age the only thing you can be sure of immediately on your return is emergency medical care which is so important.
Other benefits and assistance not assured until after 3 months.
Its no walk in the park!! but perhaps a lot of time spent there.

That was during covid. Maybe GH owner desperate for custom?
Quite likely they were and until end of Uk school holidays its peak season, but the beginning of Sept it quietens down, this is roughly when OP said he would go back so maybe worth a quick email enquiry.

Terry , quote from the thread a year ago, link already provided further back in this thread might be worth messaging original poster for details..
Blackpool, 50 yards from the beach. Own room with toilet/shower, double bed, tv, kettle , etc The owner also changed 1 room to a small kitchen with microwave, fridge, coffee maker etc. Room cleaned and bed clothes changed once a week. Price was £90 a week double room, £75 for smaller room.
I'm not a fan of Blackpool, but I needed somewhere cheap so I could still fund the wife and kid during Covid, and the B and B was a life saver.
Where can I buy paintings for decoration in Khon Kaen ?

Pop into MaiThai Guest house located in the South West of the city easy to locate. It has a food bar area by the pool great for lunch etc. The owner is an English guy who is a budding artist ,he has a wall full of paintings many available to buy at very reasonable prices, if none to your liking he would for sure point you in the right direction for other options.
