  1. I wouldn't bother with an agent, my wife recently got a visa and we thought the agent route would be the best option but after getting nowhere for 10 days we dumped them and did it ourselves, very easy and painless. I live in the UK and she lives in Thailand so with you already retired there that has to be a bonus. Best of luck ????

So I went early morning to DLT Bangchak today; and would you believe, the lady there says since my residence falls under area 1 (which is at the DLT at Rama 2), they would do it with just the yellow Taabien Baan; but at Bangchak they would definitely need a residence certificate. So I hightailed it to the embassy finally and they'll give me a certificate of residence in 2 days and then I go back to the Rama 2 DLT place.

I recently renewed my driving licence in India, completely online, uploaded my medical etc, paid the fee by card, delivered to my home by courier in 3 days.

I can't believe it's been so complicated for you. I have a 2yr car licence which is up for renewal, have things changed so much in the last 2yrs. Normally it's a trip to Saiyok city hall with the wife's house book to get a letter then to kanchanaburi to renew, in and out usually within 1½hrs with my new licence in my hand.

This is the second child passport question I’ve seen in as many days. Admittedly, I’m American, but why not get the child’s Thai passport first, take him to Old Britannia, and then get him/her their EU or British passport? Just curious. Should deal with both anyway.

This is what I did, it was 19yrs ago but wouldn't recommend it, was a nightmare.

It sure was cheaper for me many years ago and others I know who were registered in the provincial hospitals data base.  Treated just as a Thai would be, but then definitely not the 30 Thb scheme, but still a lot cheaper than at one of the private big name hospitals.

Yes but that's got nothing to do with the yellow book or ID card, that's available to anyone.
