From the time of the initial consultation to the day of the surgery was 5 weeks - cost was approx 30000 baht for multi focal lens which corrected both the vision and the presbyopia. This is the Dr who performed the surgery -

    one or both eyes

As others have stated, cataract surgery does not require an overnight stay. However, having had both mine done, first at Rutnin Eye (Bangkok) where the anesthetic procedure caused hemorrhaging, (needle into the eye), I still went home to recover the same day, and administered the requisite drops until I went for a follow up the next week. Given my experience I then had the second eye surgery performed at Samitivej Hospital (Bangkok) with drops anesthetic and went home afterwards. I was picked up by my partner both times, and managed the washing (shower) without getting water anywhere near my eyes. The prices you are quoted seem very reasonable. Rutnin was around THB140,000 and Samitivej around THB75,000 (both eyes normal lenses).

My straightforward experience at Samitivej is the norm for these procedures, (as everyone kept telling me before the horror show at the first surgery).

Happily everything is OK in both eyes now, and the difference in my sight is dramatically better; I no longer need long distance glasses.

Price for both eyes or just one?

  3. It is vanity!

Personally I see it more here in Thailand than back home. Guess what people dont know or see wont hurt them embrassment?

Just like a comb over🤣 let it go trim it up keep one self neat and clean guy dying yet their face is like a old wrinkle then you got to keep it up if not then a big patch of white shows up then when one had enough you end up with pink then white mean While your thinking as people will know now like they didnt before.😎

  4. Culture and education, I really wish this problem is regulated to just his family but it isnt much more wide spread that people eant to believe.

One of the problem as I see it " criticism "  in general of course family and friends see and know the problem but dont say a thing only when they had enough by then it is too late.

I for one fear the opening of casino and it is coming regardless of our opinions.

  5. As Sheryl said earlier you need to be check first.

Your problems sounds very similar to mines.

Aging is a bit-ch I knew my eyes been getting worse having planned a trip home in Feb, I arranged to see an Opthamolagist to see where I sit at my age.

Prior I couldnt locate my old glasses so I had a new pair made I also needed to renew my driver licence when I got them leaving the next day told needed to wear them get my eyes adjusted but after a day I knew something wasnt right.

At the DMV I fail bomb out lucky I had planned ahead next day to the pre- arranged appointment result I have cataract both eyes. Also my perscription done in Pattaya was way off got new reading had lenses made passed with flying colors. In fact the new lenses when wearing are so clear unbelieveable!

Future, still need to get them done but due to cost of flight, accomodations, and time frame although Medicare will cover will most likely do them here in Thailand.

Any cost number at the Rinal Clinic Bangkok.

  6. It is certainly confusing.

Several months ago at an expat meeting a well know Visa expert, spoke as to the new rules basically told me my situation had to make a new TM30 each time I leave Thailand and come back same residence except Condo ownet mines everything under my wife name.

I've been on a retirement Ext. Over 15 years, TM30 in my passport been for 5years never a problem.

I left for the States Feb. return 8 of March, I went down JOMTIEN on 11th. Experting the worse told didnt NEED!😁

I think prior to your photo majority thought you were talking entrance doors.

These are cabinets the size shown is pretty standard the doors come with the framing. What you have runs around Two thousand baht today stores like Homepro, Mega, Thaiwasadu. Carries them you can check their showrooms and upgrade from these plain ugly not much more worth it. Lots of nice selections these days

I wouldn't paint if not done right will peel and chip.

Measure the doors and framing if you are lucky they are standard. I believe the framing is held to cement with a few screws if not caulking.

    Good luck

I realize it's a 2 1/2 hour drive each way but I recommend you go to Hat Yai and consult

Assoc Prof. Varah Yuenyongviwat. Be guided by him as to what tests (if any) are needed.

He can be seen at Prince of Songkhla University Hospital or at his private clinic

    https://www.orthopsu.org/services

(go through the Special Clinic, he is there on Mondays)

You cant get that kind of infomation on Google!
