  1. You are making something out of nothing asking about so call laws.

First, how long have you been in this unit since you are still under contract?  4 months 6,8, funny if so did all of a sudden the place is falling apart? Or as you noted you like the resident jump into the contract now see something better and want out?

If as bad as noted repairs arent made the contract has already been voided!

Two, a guy as you stated wont fix something most likely isnt going to take you to court. The fact your are interested in another unit same building having access to you can be a problem. One thing for sure this is the type of owner wont give your deposit back no matter what!

Personal just give him notice fail to act on contract before you do make sure your new contract you cover what you fail to do the first time.

Not quite....I understand that the new 'issued on' date will not have any connection to the current one's expiration date.

Just investigating the time frame of a renewal application and the new 'issued on' date that goes in the passport, and how best to proceed to possibly affect that. I'll be applying for a new one well in advance, just the timing of my annual extension's 'stay until date' and passport's expiration are coming into play next time around.

    Isnt that what I said!

I did not respond to you about your extension but the renewal of your passport earlier as you noted a year down the road.

My own passport didnt expired until October 2, 2024!

I renewed early Sept 2022!  When I got my new passport dates are

    Issue:  19 Sept 22

    Expire:  20 Sept 32

You use info and take it as you like!

For those U.S. folks doing the renewal-by-mail of their passports, just wondering about the 'issued on' date in the new passport, relative to when they actually have the new passport in hand

The idea being Is there any pattern one can figure out, in relation to the new 'issued on' date (which also correlates to the expiry date), and the date/time frame the new passport has been received?

Being as I'll do the renewal a year before the current one expires, I'd like for the new one's 'issued on' date (day/month) to be near the current one's. Just for convenience sake, really, and keep all these 'official date patterns' (PP, extension, licenses, etc.) the same, or near same, if possible.

The passport renewal, all the changes from the embassy, etc., have been discussed ad nauseam. And with the varying time frames from submitting the renewal to getting the passports back (anywhere from 3-6 weeks it seems from recent reports) maybe there's no way to target an 'issued on' date.

In the past, renewing passports at the embassy was rather simple, compared to the process in place now. Did it twice, and I'd pickup up the new passport which had an 'issued on' date just a few days prior to my pickup.

Just wonder if those getting their new passports have picked up any 'lag time' from the 'issued on' date to getting the new puppy back.

I think what you are asking will the new passport and date of issue be closed to the old expiration date?

The answer is NO from my experience.  Right after Covid, I tagged along with my brother to the Embassy who needed to renew his passport. Thinking although I had a year and a half left why not see if I can do it never know of another lockdown?  We went beginning of September, and two weeks later I received the passport in the mail. Date of issue was the end of September.

  4. Sorry for your lost!

When it comes to transport sure it is very similar.

Did this for a friend two years ago.

We got the death certificate from the Embassy U.S. had it translated and certified,  Contacted the airline to notify and confirm their policy as to hand carry on board.

Concerning was the airport security personnel going through procedure. We got a email confirmation from airline translated everything in Thai, we did this to cross our T&I. So to not be delayed.

At the security scan pull out lucky we had all documents after looking at doc they were respectful snf given clearance.

We also looked into shipping back FedEx, told would need documents as noted to ship.

    Good luck!

Sorry, but I don't see how his "mission" would bring any relief! In fact it probably added to the chaos as I'm sure him and his entourage came in many vehicles that added to the problem. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.

So true months back the Mayor with all his staff shut the tunnel down so they could walk through it to make a photo op the reason complains motorbike using the tunnel then claim 2-4 thousands were using daily 🤣

They dont care the worse they not have a clue how address the problem signs cones not a clue where to put them.

Timing is always bad the work should be done at night on major roads. Give that a thought!

You seem to think that is somewhat difficult. 3 cable ties and about 3 seconds.

    What is your IQ?

Give it a try not as easy, can, but it wont be tight if done by oneself.

If investigated properly if murder there would be burn or struggle marks at wrist point.

  7. I'm not going to comment on the topic of this subject as to the intellect of the people who are on this forum.

But I will and can only speak for myself in regards to using the Emoji!

Like now regarding this topic, I've read all 7 pages rare for me!  I read the comments instead of responding to each of them I use the emoji as my response. If I disagree, I would use " Sad " which means I am sad that the poster has such an opinion.

I like everyone disagreed about things when I first was told of this forum I was given a warning if I signed up and participated in many forums about Thailand, the dislike for Americans would come across as general from those who are Brits.  After all these years I'm not convinced totally but...

I will admit and am pretty sure my handle has been mentioned within the moderator's ranks for the improper use of the emoji!  I've been warned and even given several time-outs I even believe the improper use of them is the reason for the policy change.

In the past, I had disagreements but rarely used the emoji but then I noticed a poster using the emoji on my post instead of having a conversation they would use emoji. The moderators are right this is a form of stalking so I tested their consistency in enforcing the policy. Having years of experience being around lawyers and arbitrators I know moderators have a tough job here a number of them are really good some are not isn't that the way the world works?

I had a few who disagreed with me stalk me with emojis, so I went overboard and played their game emoji everything they wrote I read and responded with an emoji as to my feelings. I also wanted to test what these guys are made of can they take the heat in the kitchen couldn't and whined to the moderator as to what I was doing making their job even harder. Warning penalty excepted.

The biggest problem a few people like to believe and say they understand reasonably but the next word out of their mouth despite the bad spelling or grammar understand everything that was written as badly as it might have been but got to do what they do best behind the keyboard.

I guess there is also now a limitation on how many one can use at a given time. Seven pages click click click then you get a polite message :partytime2:

  8. Some office allows the use of joint account like Jomtien.

Ive been using and will use this account tommorrow to do my extension for the 15 plus time well over the 1,600,000.

There are reason people want to use agents and have single accounts.  In this case, husband pass she can keep the same account and have assurance not to dip below the limit. Can close as suggested open new account.

    Good luck.

If you integrated into society, you'd understand the disrespect here.

You are hypocritical, you think as a non Buddhist you have a right to visit 100 temples for no religious reasons, yet criticize locals for having a party. It most definitely isn't about money.

Thais are tolerant. They would disrespect Catholics by pointing out they drink wine at Mass, due to a mistranslation from Greek, where grape juice is the same word as wine.

Since you like to assume let me do some myself!

From your past posting, you are Thai. You do your share of bashing Thais but respond to someone like me when it doesn't suit you!  The only thing you have in common being a Thai is that you can't seem to take criticism if everyone on the board with negative comments which happens to be a majority ever thinks of the reason it sure isn't because we woke up this morning and said it Thai time!

Since you assume I will do the same and boost a bit even as to why I'm here. I'm not sure close to living in Thailand with Thais 99% of the time 24/7 365 days a year, being able to live like a poor Thai, squatting, sleeping on the floor, showering with cold water scooping, working in the fields with my wife family eating Thai food, officially adopting my wife Thai son who I first held in my arms when he was 6 months old, supporting and raising him today he is 24, married and has a daughter which I help care the majority of the day while everyone works at the family restaurant. When he was 13 years I put my life in harm's way for him to walk into a Thai nightclub with the intent to give my life to save him by telling the owner I was taking him out of there.

I don't know your definition of "Integrate"  But my Thai wife of 18 years and her entire family up north on their farm including her older brother who is a district official think the world of me despite my background. The people who wonder about me and where I come from are shocked when they hear what I've done for them, especially my son who isn't my blood how I sacrifice for a child that isn't mine is unheard in this culture. Does any of this qualify me to speak my opinion or I've not yet " integrated " enough?

Twenty-plus years ago, although I visited Thailand my father had sent my older brother away to protect him from a dispute he had with the Columbia Cartel. He was sent first to HK to the family after several years the dispute was settled I was sent to return him but he wasn't in HK or within the Mainland Triads, in the end, tracked him to Mai Sai known as Golden Triangle where he was for several years with Thais that had Chinese Hakka blood ties.

I lived with them for close to two months since we had to fix his overstay in Thailand prove he was a U.S. Citizen and obtain a new passport. During those two months, I learned a lot about their operation, thinking, and culture although I'm one to speak out when I see wrong it wasn't my place but I found first and foremost how prejudiced and racist they thought anyone who wasn't Thai and these pricks had many of these pricks had Chinese blood in them but I was respectful.

While waiting for all the paperwork to be done my brother and I along with guides decided to travel around Thailand that is how I came to meet my future Thai wife in early 2000, a trip to Sukhothai during Loy Krathong. I gave up a pretty good life although not completely legit to live in Thailand with them since she refused to marry me and come to the U.S is 100% Thai. In fact, for over a year when return for short stays I couldn't meet her family because they heard she was seeing a farang therefore she must have been working in a bar or club and was outcasted. It wasn't until I brought along some Thai guides of my brother and they saw and met me it was explained I was accepted. I still remember sitting at a local restaurant the father, mother older brother, and his wife sat down and ask where is this <deleted> farang?  See pointed I still remember their look. I looked just like them and became one of them.

I'm not religious but being Chinese my family is Buddhist but they didn't practice the same as if it was a matter of life or death. Because of my wife and family, I respect her wishes I learned their custom at the Temples but I don't need to go to any temple or church of any religion to know what is right or wrong to guide me through life. As I've told a good friend by home a priest " I've done some really bad things and I've done some good and that too me is life " When it is time to get in line to the gates of heaven the gatekeeper asks why I should be received into his kingdom I will tell him what my priest told me " the man receives everyone ",

I've said I've visited close to 100 temples yet you assume what you assume that I haven't been respectful nor do I have a right to do so!  That is what is wrong with people like you! The reason history has shown those like you who believe so much are the hypocritical ones who assume you can only go if you truly believe or have a reason. My reason is to be respectful to my Thai wife, family, and son whom I gladly paid for the ceremony to be one. And that is another pat on my back by Thais when they find out that I did their faces the look " Who does that for a person that isn't his blood "

So what is it going to take? for me to integrate to visit a Temple. You think like the Thai leaders here who discriminate against all foreigners making us jump through hoops so you can claim control, charge us double, and smile welcome to the Land of Smiles.

My comment comes down to priority!  and making such a stink over innocent events goes into the stupidity category of respect when there are higher priorities.  The hypocrisy is making a federal case out of nothing when Temples use their property to throw events by renting out spaces and tents to sell food, alcohol, and dancing in far less clothing. Anyone who thinks it isn't a profitable business is blinded by being too in love with being Thai. A Thai MP said "The more patriotic the more stupid "

I was once asked to be 100% Thai, I smiled and said deep inside "You got to be <deleted> kidding "  one can criticize and still integrate!

  10. I see a double standard, their dress isnt a full bikini the top yes but their bottom from picture no!

What they did prior to sun bathing but the attention is what bothers me the criticism by some Thai, these are the racist, prejudice, ignorant  that like to spend time pointing out anything small or large foreigners do that isnt in their rim of norm. But are so disensatized to their own short comings.

A photo op, 3 police, full investigation tracking them down as if some heaven to god rule was violated.

In my years here I've visited close to a hundred temples not being religious but respectful to religion it is a business nothing else. Ive seen Temples offer up their properties to hold events to generate money that includes a full area with a massive stage, sound system, table where alcohol was being sold dancing entertainment with girls wearing far less and dancing as if they were at a sex show with underage girls dancing as if they were drunk by of a pickup truck during Songkran.

Whoever these Thai pricks getting over it.😂

So I'm trying to remove some mold from the mastic beading along the back of the sink.

Put on some bleach, cover with some rolled up loo paper add more bleach leave overnight and the mold will be gone. :whistling:

This used to work in Farang land but not here.

I use Haiter, which I have always believed to be bleach, but it does not remove the mold.

Any ideas why Haiter does not work in this case?

Is it actually a bleach and what's the difference with various colored bottles ?

We use the pink bottles if it matters.

    Thanks

Not as strong white or yellow bottle pink is for color clothes.

I use that method  but here some stains are easy somevor not I neef to use a brush most of time .

  12. The interview is pretty much determine prior to the interview. Questions asked is to confirm the application information. The comments I like is have her bring your passport and a letter as stated for insurance have it certfied by a attorney international. There are interviewer who will be a Bit arrogant not want to be contradicted will not look at document regardless  have it. Aside from you being married 15 years maybe I missed it how long you been living here purpose and Visa type. I ask because as another they want to see a anchor for her to return especially if you are sole supporter.

For example if you have a Immigration O retired and Thailand is your home she having a passport travel outside of Thailand in the past those are all plus.

Personal story in the days when we were allow to go along the interviews the applicant was refused, wife 5 years, husband sole supporter refused ask why no anchor, explained he wad living here past few years retirement visa, reversed granted.

Good luck, have a great trip.
