  1. Yes, you can. The dealer charges 3% service fee. They seemed quite eager to make the sale, so I said I'll buy the vehicle right now if they waive the service charge. To my surprise, they said no, so I walked away.
  2. I would be exiting Thailand a couple days after Permission to Stay date, and returning 5 days later, well before the 30-day Under Consideration return date. I've done 4 yearly extensions already. Officials only visited our house the first time. Good idea to tell the immigration officer, thanks. I was thinking the alternative could be to apply for my yearly extension more than 30 days before my Permission to Stay date. I've read that some immigration offices allow you to apply for extension up to 45 days early. However a quick Google search tells me the Chonburi immigration only allows 30 days early, which I think might me cutting to close to my departure date.
  3. I found a thread from 8 years ago saying that you can get a re-entry permit during this period. This was at CW immigration. Does anyone have some recent experience that this still can be done? Just saving myself a trip to ask if anyone already knows. I'm on a marriage visa and will be doing my extension at Chonburi Immigration. Thanks in advance.
  4. I live on this highway, 3376. The highway has new street lights, but some sections are not lit for some reason despite having brand new lights installed. It been like this for over year. These unlit sections are really dark! I can relate to how it's hard to see things on the road. I'm sad to hear of the young man's death and condolences to the pregnant girlfriend.
  5. Did KTB tell you that you cannot get a credit card? You should be able to get one since you are legitimately working in Thailand. They will require at least 6 months of you working at the same job.
  6. Is a Thai citizen required to obtain a learner's permit while learning to drive? According to Wikipedia, the only requirement is that a person with a full license for 3 years accompany them. Any BMs have some first-hand experience with this? I'm looking to have my 17 year old daughter start driving.
  7. Thanks ubonjoe. My thoughts are the same. I'm hoping someone as successfully done it with an e-saving account. Most banks have them now. Either way, I can do the income method if needed.
  8. For this year's marriage visa extension, I opened an e-savings account from SCB because they offer a higher interest rate for my 400K. However, they don't offer a physical bank book. My guess is that SCB will print out a statement with their stamp as a guarantee in lieu of the bank book. My question is, has anyone here gone this route recently? Is this acceptable? My extension will be done at Chonburi immigration in Jomtien.
  9. That's my branch and they called me several months ago informing me of the closure. The lady told me they were calling all of their branch's customers. It could be that they had an old or incorrect phone number for you. I can see branches downsizing as most banking can be done over the phone, at an ATM, or online apps these days.
  10. "We are physically evicted" "We have criminal cases and civil cases in progress but they keep adjourning them" By the sounds of it, it's past the 3 months and locks have probably been changed and/or people are living in the house. I would appeal to the new owners to be allowed to get your personal items. Also see if you can get a recorded admission that they agreed to allow you 3 months to vacate. That might help in a court case. I know that verbal agreements are legally binding in many countries, but of course TIT. Worth a try in my opinion. In any case, I wish you luck and hope things work out in the your favor.
  11. I know many Thai teenagers have informal jobs working for family members or friends, but does anyone have a teenager (16 years old+) working at say, 711, a retail store in the mall, or a coffee shop like Black Canyon? What is your experience with it?
