The SET has done well.  While valuations have risen somewhat, and made alot of happy investors, valuations on the thai stock market are still low compared to the USA.

Plus, with the thai bhat appreciation, this adds extra $ return to thai investments.

I got a taste of asia working in singapore and had a beautiful thai GF living with me.  After the crash of the e-business bubble, I lost all. GF, condo, job, etc. No money, no honey like they say.

I have since been working in Europe in a brokerage job but life is not fun.  I have  aquired a condo in LOS and plan to move back to asia pacific soon.  Thailand for me seems like the best destination.

What happens if you get caught?  Fine/ deportation/ prison / blacklisted for return to thailand?

I prefer to remain anonymous about the company.  Thailand is a small place and alot of people read this website.

Its actually one of the more reputable financial advisory companies.  At the interview, I was told, that doing visa runs would be fine and alot of people work this way.

You should consider putting your job on hold and going over to be with her while she has the baby.  You will regret it big time if she has an abortion because you where not arround to support her.

It is not enough to send money.  You need to be together.  Try getting her over to the UK on a tourist/ student visa.  

You should consider where the baby will live.  Do you need to buy a condo in bangkok.  What about school.  Where will it go to school.  Would you want an english school for your kid?

I am considering a position in BKK.  But the company is not willing to sponsor a work permit, and the job is entirely sales based, renumerated only by commission.

Is it normal for foreigners to work in thailand without a work permit, on commission only jobs selling financial services to expats there?

I recently purchased a Condo in viewtalay 2.

The developer is very honest and the condo is reasonably good quality and well located.  It did cost a bit more than I expected, because of needing a kitchen, aircon, hotwater, furniture, tiles, etc.

But I think the price has risen since I bought it, and it is a good investment. The financing terms are also attractive.  But remeber, you can't use it till you paid for it.

If I bought again, I would spend more money and buy a bigger condo.  But at the time, I did not have more money to invest.

I look forward to moving up to a larger unit in the future.

Thai economy is doing just great.  Unemployment is low, thailand has one of the highest percentage of entrepreneurs in the world, Thailand repaid its IMF loan ahead of time.

Thai shares are still undervalued relative to US assets.  This is because PE ratios are lower in thailand, and it could be argued thailand offers a high growth potential.

There might be a property bubble in certain condos on sukhumvit road, bangkok.  But overall in thailand, there is no property bubble.  It could be argued that sukhumvit and silom are the mayfairs and park lanes of bangkok.

Hence owners of hotels in these locations can expect to do very well.

Thai women are not so different to western women.  They are just overall better looking and more caring and kind.

Western girls are just as interested in meeting a wealthy male as thai girls are.

I find thai women alot more attractive than western women, and perhaps many thai girls find western men alot more attractive than thai men.  Money may not play a role.

Perhaps, there is a natural human desire to diversify ones genes.   A thai-english marriage for example, would produce children with better genes than are available in the UK.

Sending a few hundred dollars every month to the thai family is not so bad.    Having a thai wife actually makes you money, because you feel happier, work better at your job, save more money, (married husbands do not frequent cabarets and gogo bars so much).  Having a thai wife can mean making great strides forward in business.

For example: If your wife tells you:  I want you make alot money, you sure will find a way to do it.
