  1. 'Whatever will be, will be' sounds somewhat fatalistic. Shouldn't Toni be back in Thailand by the 24th, according to the latest itinerary? They should be playing something more upbeat such as ' Going home' by Ten Years After.
  2. By the way, Pita means prosperity in Thai!
  3. They knew full well the establishment would come after them, they had their forerunner FF as an example. But they saw how much of a popular sentiment they are riding From FF obtaining 80 seats 4 years ago to MF nearly doubling that with 151 in May. They are the flagship of reform and every Thai knows that. I read an interview with Pita where he said he didn't regard politics as his final career, perhaps this explains his willingness to take on the establishment, nothing to lose. Unlike tired veterans of PT like Phumitam, beholden to Thaksin and the establishment, Pita and MF can tell it like it is, and by doing so and reiterating their demands for reform, can make them commonplace.
  4. Everybody knows MF are being persecuted, as FF were, the establishment are scared stuff of them. They've conducted themselves well throughout this sorry saga depriving then of governance. Their parting shot to the duplicitous PT was spot on- ' This proposed coalition is not a reflection of the people's choice'. I hope they've prepared a reserve party in case the establishment really goes for them and dissolves the party on the grounds of aiming to ' overthrow the monarchy'
  5. No he's not. He may be 100% devoid of any morals or ideals but he ain't no fool. If he and Newin's family aren't allocated the A grade ministries they want ( loads of money!!!), then it may be difficult to vote for any PT Prime Minister. Know what I mean, Mr Thaksin?
  6. Jim, we tried to tell you, don't you see it? All he wants to do is come home so as mentioned by other posters that means a deal, a big deal with the watch collector. Which means selling out the red shirts. But he never cared for them anyway, exhorting them on to fight and die whilst he sat in a luxury hotel in Paris. But where he and his family and PT may be misguided, to put it politely, is the backlash from their betrayal Tony imagines a parade through the streets of Bangkok with adoring followers casting flowers, but it may be angry ex PT supporters throwing burning red shirts at him, or even worse betrayal with the deal and Toni's stuck in the slammer. Already there's pressure from Bhumjaithai to change Settha to Thaksin's daughter Now what happens if the junta parties gang up on PT and demand certain ministries or they're pulling out? PT are in a bed of vipers and they did it to themselves.
  7. MF received nearly 14.5 million votes out of a total of 38 million which makes 38% of the total of Thai people's votes https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_of_the_2023_Thai_general_election
  8. I'm waiting for the 'left' in PT to resign or join MF. People like Chaturon Chaisaeng and Nattawut Saikeua but I fear I may be waiting a long time.
  9. You're forgetting the party's paymaster and owner wants to come back to Thailand and that requires shakings hands with the junta. Everything else they say is just for show. Offer the people a few goodies to look like they care about the poor and then claim they're forming a 'special government ' to get out of the economic crisis. Manure, and the people know it
  10. Somchai is well known for wanting to be in the news. He had his moment of fame in the Election Commission and since then he has popped up now and again to remind people who he is If I remember right he applied to be a Democrat MP but even failed at that.
  11. Listen to this in a hammock or on a beach in a deckchair. Feel at one with the world, yes sir!
  12. If Pheu Thai had any morals they would have gone into Opposition with MF and let the junta parties form a minority government. Let it run till next May then call a vote of no confidence. New elections, MF and PT in government with no senators to select the PM But no, they couldn't wait.
  13. I think Pita may have done that but PT, Anuthin or Pravit ? Nah, they like Chinese, good for business, know what I mean? nudge, nudge. Farangs are annoying, talking about human rights, whatever next? Double visa fees all round, that'll show em!
  14. Talking about downers but actually a shin kicking song imo
  15. I must apologise to posters for not giving more likes, the problem is on my phone so often the videos don't appear and I get that scowling face apparition. Tippers, please don't revive the dead in this thread, it was just too much of a downer! But of course when the greats and not so greats head up into the blue sky yonder we must acknowledge their contribution to our and the world's happiness Here's Johnny in his inimitable style playing high octane boogie.
  16. Settha has got the backing of 40 MPs from a military backed party. The Senate were appointed by military figures so Settha must be a good guy in their eyes.
  17. Soaring, swooping slide from Rory. Superb stuff
  18. Here you are in Thai. The last few sentences quote Seri saying he would kill Yok and dispose of her body if she was his daughter. https://today.line.me/th/v2/article/QwQmJM3
  19. I don't think Thaksin will come back if he has to spend more than one night in jail. There's no cell big enough to hold his inflated ego.
  20. You've left out the elephant in the room, or rather Toni the Tiger. No Pravit in the government maybe no Thaksin coming home.
  21. Assuming MF don't vote for Settha as PM, PT will use this rejection to invite Pravit's and/ or Prayuth's party(ies) to join PT in forming the government. ' People! We had no choice, MF wouldn't vote for Settha, the cry babies, so we must put the party, no, no, I mean the country first and invite the junta parties to join us. ' PT, you had a choice. To stick with M F through thick and thin, but you abandoned the one party that has ideals and is prepared to stand by them Shame on you, spineless and mealy mouthed
