  1. Yes, he was saying to the ruling elite in Thailand, " Trust me, I love authoritarian governments that crush any opposition by any means. Let me come back and I'll do the same for you.''
  2. The senators mean everything here. If the senators had no vote regarding the PM, as is the norm, MF and PT would have been running the government since May.
  3. You're forgetting the majority of MPs are in favour of a new constitution.
  4. Only for PM election, not for the government.
  5. Goodbye Robbie. One of your best songs imo.
  6. I hate seeing these letters RIP next to familiar artists. Somehow I think they should go on forever. At least their music will
  7. Seripisut, the man whose party has only one MP and last week publicly said he would kill Yok, the student activist, and dispose of her body if she was his daughter. No wonder he's a one man show
  8. They're not wrong but they don't keep announcing they're coming home. Can only cry wolf so many times
  9. It can't do that because the government has to take an oath of allegiance to the Crown as serving ministers. I believe to introduce a whole new party after that with portfolios assigned would be illegal.
  10. I like your flexible use of English, Jim. 'Imminent' can mean months, lol Thaksin has always been back, backing his minions through his family. A typical old fashioned political clan. Only he daren't come back, afraid the door will slam shut on him or worse . 20 times already, Jim
  11. But I don't think PT can bring Thaksin home if Pravit and his party are excluded from the government.
  12. If all of M F vote for Settha, the senators' votes are superfluous. But why should MF vote for a party that deserted them rather than standing by their side and going into Opposition? To hellll with PT, let them crawl to the senators for votes
  13. From the poster who excitedly proclaimed Thaksin was coming back on his birthday. What happened there, Jim? And on the 10th, announced by his daughter. Tomorrow! That doc appointment didn't stop him and sis going to see the dictator Hun Sen. I bet they felt right at home there Wissanu said in Thai ขอว่าอย่า which translates as "Please don't '' or "I'm asking you to not....'' He wasn't begging Thaksin, rather, I think, he was playing down Thaksin's significance. ' Hey, come whenever you like, everything's ready, just don't come on public holidays, it'll be a hassle.'
  14. Too many posters miss what Wissanu is really saying.
  15. My reading is Wissanu is telling Thaksin he's going to jail if he comes back. I read that Thai law stipulates a prisoner has to serve a third of their sentence before they can be considered for a pardon. Of course this may be overturned by those with the power to do so
  16. Indeed. Owl. My sister is 18 months younger which doesn't mean a thing now, but as a child it could be quite a gap. I remember playing Monopoly with her one rainy afternoon, I ended up owning hotels on every property from Old Kent Road to Mayfair and Park Lane. The poor thing, throwing the dice just to constantly get further into debt! Actually we could invent a Thai version of Monopoly with loan sharks, 'len share' and dodgy online investments!
  17. 'Still raining, still dreaming, ' J Hendrix. I was born in Southampton so I must support The Saints. Lucky I'm not a fervent supporter! We lived near Romsey in a thatched bungalow. It had wonderful, thick white walls. I remember lying in the top bunk, my sister below, watching the next door farmer ploughing his field as sunset drew near. Happy days, and then we moved to Nigeria. Now that was really something, the freedom of the warm and inviting tropics.
  18. The owner of PT wants to come home and his minions want power. Hope the senators don't trust Settha and MF tell them to go to hellll
  19. Bhumjaithai made the exclusion of MF one of their conditions to join PT. I doubt many MF will vote for PT's candidate. Bhumjaithai could have voted for Pita to keep the military out
  20. They need the senators' votes to obtain the PM's position. I can't see that happening without Pravit and his crew in the government
  21. MF are facing possible execution, dissolution if the CC decides so regarding their push for reform of 112 But they remain resolute, their ideals intact, unlike the sorry bunch of kite flyers who will ditch their pre election pledges for a seat at the table.
  22. The north-east faction of The Democrats?!!! Doesn't the author of this piece mean the southern faction consisting of 19 of the 25 Democrat MPs left
  23. Chuvit may have taken a leaf out of Thaksin's book of lies, misspokes, call it what you will. Only instead of saying I'll be back in... , Chuvit is saying I'll be going in ....
  24. Serves you right PT, now you're having to crawl to the senators to try and get Settha over the line. The price? High for sure, maybe impossible. At least including Pravit etc in the government. And if Settha fails, the baton passes to Bhumjaithai and PT will be the junior party in a government full of pro junta parties. All to please your owner who only cares about himself
