Yeah, the old lady has an awesome kebab but a couple months ago i tried to get some (only reason i ever drive to patong) and she was no where to be seen.. Very unfortunate.

Adam kebab is pretty good if you come when its fresh, hard to know though.. Their opening hours coincide with the bargirl's sobering up and going on the "morning" beer run so who knows how crazy the cooking's schedule is.

I think the majority of farang food at the lower end of cost ladder will always be hit & miss. I enjoy Adam's kebab's, but I aim to eat them mid to late evening when you know that yesterdays pita and meat hopefully has been used elsewhere !! We understand that the Thais will not waste food and if they can get an extra cash return on it - even better.

It has been like that as long as I have live in area - about 18 months - used to see it being advertised in Patong a couple of years ago

Your entry should be transferred into your new passport as soon as it arrives. It is a free process at Immigration.

Why waste time going to immigration for new stamp when you can travel out with both passports ??

I went to the Keebab in Rawai last night, just south of the Sai Yuan road, on the right in a soi.

I ordered the large pork version and my friend ordered the chicken version. I ordered a side order of fries.

Both keebabs were very good. Tasty and appeared fresh.

The fries were drowned in salt. I mean, extremely salty.

So for food, it was ok. I would normally go back for the keebabs, except that....

The lady who took our order, no idea who she was, perhaps the wife? Anyways, she was drunk and extremely loud while sitting down with her guests/friends at one table. Would not shut up! Screaming at t her neighbours who had just arrived, waving her arms, etc etc.

We were going to order one more keebab and split it, as we were both still hungry and order another beer. We just left. Honestly, she was awful.

Keebabs great. Ambience ZERO.

I was in as well. I was not put off by her style. We will see worse next 2 weeks with the daft farangs playing Songkran - food was a good as normal

Absolutely no problem - did it myself, just carry both passports. You do not even have to send old passport to Hong Kong., just photocopy. Mine took 16 days

3BB dumped me due to my TT&T phone line.

I now haveTOT ADSL on the cheapest package and frankly, I couldn't be more pleased.

Web pages open a lot quicker than with 3BB and I'm downloading torrents at approximately 350 Kb/s which is comparable to the average I was getting with 3BB (though, I did see a max of 800 Kb/s with them).

Maybe your relative position to the nearest node is a factor?

Are you able to do a TV speed test or from this website http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ using San Francisco?

Took some doing in Rawai & is an exciting 1.66 Mb, but pay for 6Mb !!!!! TOT is cr4p, but as said before there seems to be no reliable service - all seem to have their own faults

I had tot for a long time and had their average but slow service. Home 8mb which was more like 0.5mb consistently. I got tired of not getting what I was paying for and decided to switch. Using Woody's Phuket internet speed test reporting as my guide I tried for true adsl first ( not available in my area) & 3bb next.

I am on the 8mb plan & get consistently good speeds with them. I am very happy with my switch & the service I am receiving.

I see a few people do have a good luck with t o t but it seems to come down to your specific area. If it is bad for you now it is probly never going to change

TOT seems permanently bad, but if you get rid of them are you just jumping from 1 problem to the next one ??

The O-A is a retirement visa. You get that in your home country (not Thailand) if you are over 50. You can't get one based on your age. There are different ways to financially qualify for O-A visas and also retirement extensions in Thailand. Basically they all add up to either 800K baht or 65K baht monthly income or a combo. For the O-A, there is no Thai bank account requirement, if using banked money to qualify, you can show non-Thai located money. The money seasoning requirements are for retirement extensions in Thailand for those solely using the 800K, it's two months for the first one, three months for subsequent ones. To get into the retirement extension system in Thailand, starting with an O-A is optional, not a requirement.

You can obtain a work permit on an Non O provided there is no stamp saying "Work Prohibited" across the O visa

If you have to obtain a Non B instead this will replace your Non O
