  1. Hey if you want me to come and spend lots of money give me free covid tests and you cover my insurance!!!
  2. Too young RIP. he started a great service which I have used thanks
  3. Rent it as a motorbike repair shop for a year, may even take less for the customers to abandon the shop. A good statistic I read a few years back said 90% of all restaurants fail in the first year.
  4. Test drove the MG HS PHEV nice car at a reasonable price considering the tech specs, although not sure how the 1.5 does in such a heavy-ish SUV without the electric motor on long hauls
  5. Wish I had the money to buy a rai on the beach front 20 years ago but thought 10 mill. was too much. Allegedly it was 90 mill a few years ago. Missed out again , story of my life. Everyday new sucker
  6. My recent experience with dealers in Phuket has been better although Mazda seem to have slackened off a bit. Still not easy to get a test drive though. Looking at the MG HS at the moment, anyone purchased one recently, specifically the PHEV version. I took one for a test drive and was impressed, but it was all shiny and new. They even let my 18 year old have a stint at the wheel!! The worst I have heard on the review sites is it's handling, soft suspension and the noisy alarms. Felt ok when I drove it but that was only for 10 minutes.
  7. My kid did the army camp over 3 years which will probably exempt him from the call up, but it is not a guarantee apparently. However if he does get selected he may do 6 months I heard, however he is over 18 now and signed off with the local army desk, so I guessing it is all over? It would have been cheaper to donate B50,000 the current rate to avoid going if you get chosen I believe, but it did not do him any harm. Being from a private school all the Luk Kruengs and Thais went to a "resort hotel" for 4 weeks every year, bussed to the army camp at 11 AM each day. The first year was a lot of parade ground drills in the sun, the 2nd and 3rd seemed to be more indoctrination on the Thai system of governing and respect for the Monarchy which is normal in Thailand. I was hoping for some real army discipline and long training runs but probably closer to a summer camp for the well to do.
  8. Condolences, sounds like your agent has it under control. I switched to the guardian visa after a divorce, I submitted to Phuket each year; The divorce agreement we registered at the local district office, a new copy every year even though it has never changed. The usual copies of the passport pages with your extensions back to the original O visa, and 2 photos The child's birth certificate. I also gave them a letter from the school which probably is not necessary. The bank letter and statement which has to agree with your bank book. I transferred the B400K a week before. 3 pictures, only problem I had was the lad was topless in his bathers beside the pool in one photo, did not accept that, but did not ask for a replacement. I normally had 3 photos, one inside the house and 2 outside, one with the house number in the background. I found the volunteers in Phuket very friendly and helpful, the Thai processing my application the first year called me a cheap Charlie for not going to the B800K retirement visa. Later years I had a woman who was more friendly even when I got the wrong divorce document one year. I have one question my lad goes off to university overseas next year and will still monetary need support, does that qualify? I am guessing if he is not in Thailand it will not, so started the B65K a month retirement after last years visa was issued just in case.
  9. Went to the Netherlands with my Thai wife and our child who holds dual Australian/Thai nationality. No visa or any medical issues with myself and my son, however the wife had to pay for health over from a private health fund for 1 month, to cover a 2 week holiday. She was already covered by my company for full health coverage world wide but that was not good enough, as it did not state that she was covered for the actual dates? It was also a hassle getting the visa despite having been together for 9 years. Although dual pricing is a pain, and bad practice, I doubt most Thais would be sympathetic to his cause considering the hoops they have to go thru.
  10. I had a divorce agreement, stating I was responsible for our child, registered at the local district office which covered me in Phuket. Had to be a new copy every year from the office which only cost B30.
  11. In Phuket I got mine from the information desk for B50 took about 5 days. It does say for International travel on the inside of the cover. I believe you will still need the PCR tests etc before you can fly.
