  1. Le Cordon Bleu is very intensive. It’s good to have basic skills before you go in, I think it’s a waste if you have no basic knowledge. You are better off enrolling at small schools and try to cook from passion and learning yourself, watching videos online. Experience at hotels and reputable restaurants also helps a lot. It takes time to be proficient and experiences are invaluable for your journey. I’ve been to restaurants where owner graduated from Le Cordon Blue, hate to say some are not better than those that learn from scratch, experience, and passion. As corny as it sounds, a good cook / chef comes from within and experience it gains a long the way.
  2. China is not logging any impressive numbers on anything, thats only if you are still comparing it with after Covid. Comparing it with precovid, it’s still doing very bad. The government even said they will stop reporting unemployment statistics in fall of this year.
  3. Corruption within the RTP is not shocking, what’s shocking is how nothing can ever be done, corrupt police are hardly ever jailed only transfer to inactive positions, and at the end of the days it’s always a big misunderstanding.
  4. Someone wants big joke gone fast before he lays down the hammer again.
  5. Yes prior to 2019 it’s possible. They changed the law, no used cars allow only new cars. All the loop holes have been closed as well. End of discussion. I know several people who did so prior to 2019 legally, it wasn’t impossible. I’ve brought one used car in prior to 2019 also with the assistance of a grey market importer. Yes if you tried to do the whole process yourself, it would have been impossible.
  6. It won’t be demolished, there is an arrangement with T21 to pass through their land now. An entry and exit is already being made as we speak.
  7. it passes through MRT land which whichever public department that allow this arrangement should never have allowed it base on the laws.
  8. People who complain long wait times must not have travel to US before where average waits are usually 40min or more. And immigration officers are just as bad as Thai officers. Those that complain long walks must have not travel to Germany where airports are just as far. But this ranking is hardly accurate and polling numbers way too small.
  9. Grab use to use google map integrated in their app for navigation purposes. Since 2 years ago, for some countries they have switched to their own GrabMap and doesn’t need to rely on google maps. But whenever I take grab, the routes that are displayed on drivers grab app are usually exactly same as google maps. many times these maps don’t show small one way streets that actually avoid a lot of congestion. And during rush hour traffic these maps are not accurate due to changing traffic conditions.
  10. It’s up to the driver, based on my experience majority of times drivers ask for it at the end of the ride since it’s communicated beforehand and most ride hailing drivers will use their easy pass for convenience sake. I suppose when it comes to tourist it’s best to get them to pay at the toll or get toll receipt too.
  11. My driving gives me the knowledge of gps apps like google maps aren’t always the most accurate when it comes to time it takes to reach a destination. Which is why some car hailing drivers give passengers another route option, it’s not to try to ripe passengers off. Not too hard to understand.
  12. For appliances Samsung are not known for it, LG is better and more reliable. Samsung are only know for their phone, yet their phone tend to have problems once it hits 4-5 years in average.
  13. I believe immigration officers let the Chinese pass on purpose after they were informed by check in staff the passports were fake. That’s where the charges would be stiffer and clear that they used a forge passport to exit. Or else the charge would be only be possession of fake passport but not “use”. Thai immigration system is very up to date and complete. My wife who isn’t Thai once left Thailand with our kids, kids are Thai. On the way back to Thailand, she came without the kids - immigration officer even inquired her why kids aren’t with her. In their database they even recorded or at least her mug shot had kids in the background - hence the inquiry about kids. The Chinese in this case weren’t the smartest.
  14. Chinese government is controlling the number of tour groups traveling abroad due to slump in their economy. yes tours all need government approval before traveling abroad.
  15. that’s not true, I’ve book rides where it doesn’t go on tolls but driver advise it would be faster - of course there would be additional toll fees as explained by the driver. I took the toll. Ride apps doesn’t always go fastest route. I’ve been driving here for over 30 years, gps maps aren’t always the most accurate. Majority times ride hailing drivers don’t try to scam passengers as the price is already fixed when you book it regardless of road you take. They just want to get passenger to their destination as fast as possible so they can get more jobs. In this case, the driver explained to the tourist, most likely it was a language barrier.
