Ford is not a Thai company. Ford is a US company. Ford has manufacturing facilities in many countries.
Most parts including engines are imported.
40% of the parts are purchased locally to meet the duty free export requirement.

In my experience, if the coffee is freshly ground and then brewed directly, it really doesn't matter much what beans you use, meaning from where they come. The really top quality beans (blue mountain) are so expensive you wouldn't buy them anyway. I usually try to buy dark roasted Arabica generic brand, that's good enough for my 5 daily cups of coffee, been drinking that since I was 15 -16 years old.
Oh it does matter. Beans come in different grades. Beans from different areas taste different. And then there is Organic.

I buy my coffee from a local cafe who imports 100kg bags of coffee from Laos.
They roast the beans and sell whole or ground for B250 for 500g.
I'm a real coffee lover and these beans are the best I have found in Khon Kaen.

Thanks for the direction. Unfortunately it is much longer for me. I live close to Bangkok Hospital and the old location was perfect.
Should be a lot less traffic for you.. Just go the Ring Rd and down about 2 lights and you are there..

The just renovated their offices, put new furniture in and now they are moving.. Only in Thailand.

Any indication that next year the combination method will be allowed with money in bank and monthly deposits to account might be accepted?
No new rules have been published.

$15K now. It's not something they seem to care about unless it's BIG money or they want to go after someone.
Tend to agree...

Keep in mind, you can gift anyone up to $14,000 tax free.

They won't try to tax a Thai but certainly can and will go after a US citizen who transfers money directly or indirectly for the benefit of another person. That is a "gift".
Numerous transfers have been made to my wife in excess of $10,000 that has never been questioned.

In the states, any check/money transfer/etc. over $10K ostensibly rings a bell somewhere (IRS) and may get scrutinized as a "gift" that can be taxed. Probably nothing to worry about though.
I doubt the US can Tax a Thai National or determine the money is a gift.

I can't imagine that 65,000 must be transfered each month. Do you really think they will reject a one time transfer of B780,000, or quarterly transfers of B195,000?

They keep the website updated that a I posted a link to. They would of certainly changed it for that big of a change.
I paid him B1500 which is about $45. US. $35. would have been a good deal if I had US currency which I did not. Unfortunately, I did not see any price list posted.

I handed them my passport and he said $50. US or B1500.

Its actual $30 for a Lao visa depending on your nationality as that's what I always pay every 90 days when I I do my visa run.
That's what some people don't understand. It's based on Nationality. US is $50. or B1500

My marriage extension (not a Visa) is approved by KK.
Are you saying the IO's from KK came to Roi Et to your home and interviewed you. I tend to doubt it.
I would think your paperwork was sent to KK for final approval and home visits were done by Roi Et IO's.

1 hour ago, Tanoshi said:Then you could have applied for an extension based on marriage at Immigration, if you had the financial proof.
You travelled from KK to Savannakhet, paid 2,000 for a Lao Visa and 5,000 for the Non Imm O ME Visa.
You cannot make 90 day reports, you have to leave and re-enter every 90 days.
Others travel to their local IO, pay 1,900 baht and don't have to leave the Country every few weeks.
It's obvious that you have no idea what goes on in KK when it comes to obtaining a Visa based on Marriage. It's just not as easy as you say.
You need to get your facts straight. It's B1500 not 2000 for a Lao Visa.
In addition, I could have chosen a Single Entry Visa and not have to leave the county. I chose the Multi Entry for specific reasons.
I can also get 60 day extensions and leave in 150 days rather than 90. Cost B1900. Less than going to Lao.
My method to Thai Immigration madness works for me.. it may not work foe you..

Just to expand on my re-entry. Immigration would not allow me to enter on my new Visa. They wanted said I had to enter basted on the reentry stamp. I explained the IO Supervisor said I would have no problem entering on my new Visa.
The IO stamped my Passport and said I need to leave the country the day my Visa expires which is Dec 8.
I told him I will not leave the country in 3 weeks and insisted he use my new Visa to enter the country. He refused.
I said I am not moving until he does as it is my choice according to the his supervisor who insisted on me getting the re entry stamp.
At this point the line behind me was about 50 deep. The IO from the next booth came over to see what was going on and told the IO at my booth to call the Supervisor.
The supervisor told the IO to cancel my old Visa have me initial the cancelation and allow me entry on my new Visa.
So the thread title states... Savannakhet Marriage Visa Turned Into A Horror Show

If the OP had explained he was applying for a Non Imm O ME Visa and would be returning on that Visa, then it could have avoided any misunderstanding.
Alternatively if the OP had obtained an Embassy Income letter, or proof of 400K deposited in a Thai bank for 2 months, he could have renewed his extension at Immigration.
I did explain that I was applying for a Marriage Visa. The IO still insisted on the re-entry stamp. In addition, I told the IO that when I return I will have a problem entering on my new Visa. She insisted that will not.
Long story short I did.
As for your second brilliant comment.. I Have the letter and the income but did not want to extend my Retirement Visa. The purpose was to obtain a Visa based on Marriage.

The initial run to obtain the visa is an overnighter after that it's an one hour trip from the bus station to the bridge and back but seems OP is trying to enjoy themselves and just not pop in pop out.

11 hours ago, trigpoint said:seems like your "horror show " was due to the Thai immigration, for reasons unknown, why didn't you leave your wife and child in Thailand and go to Laos on your own and get a non imm O visa?, no big deal to do a border hop as you say you live close by anyway .
You apply for the Visa and pick it up the next day. We planned to spend the weekend in Laos.. PLUS.. I would never leave them and go on by myself
