  1. Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Chumpol Silapa-archa said the explosions in Bangkok yesterday would have a psychological effect on the tourism industry in Thailand.

He said the revision of travel warnings against Thailand issued by the U.S. and the United Kingdom may divert foreign tourists from this country in the future. However, he said no advance bookings have been canceled so far.

Since when the Minister knows about thousands of the cancellations in da thousands of travel agencies countrywide? Does he counting himself? No. Does any of the travel agencies report the bookings/cancellations directly to TOT? No. Any reports from the thousands of local hotels? No. Then, how?

    Liars.

Please stop confusing TOT - they have enough trouble just providing decent internet service and phones........wai.gif

    Perhaps you meant TAT?

Yes, of course I meant TAT. Just mistyped...anyway, they are all same-same but different. :)

  3. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said the government is looking for 2 million rai of land to use as areas to hold flood water

Just yesterday, simply YESTERDAY this id..ot in da skirt told us that "the government has prepared two million rai of vacant land as the water retention zone"

    http://www.thaivisa....kely-this-year/

Lie lie lie, everywhere, on a daily basis........

I could be wrong, but both articles seem to be drawing from the same talk given by the PM which could suggest that is more a problem of the reporting and translation.

Ppl up there (include me myself) no need just talks. They got enough of talks last year - but hey, the talks not help me to ongoing repairing of my house...

Ohh yes...even talks they got "not in time of the flooding, sorry".

  4. Govt plans joint bill on charter

In the meantime the next rainy season is closer and closer day to day - and won't wait until this so-called "govt" get some free time to deal with......Has something really done about it yet???

    NO.

Half of the year has been already passed since the last raining season. They left only 50% of their time.

  5. Teeager sex should not be allowed.
At other side - there is no watchdog(s), so they WILL have sex. Not today - but tomorrow, not at parent's house - but at the dark soi or park, but they will. They will find the way and the time. You simply can't stop this. Just remember yourself at that age, and how less you care about your parents say.... smile.png The only way to avoid that is the proper education. Something Thailand is lack of...so, BIBs wont change the things anyway.
Yeah fair comment, but not everyone was necessarily like that at that age.

    Which age (exactly)?

Most of teenagers in most of the countries are NOT virgin when they turned their 18th bday. Welcome to the real world, Neo....

  7. You forget this is Thailand

    Never. :)

If the cops say kids have to be inside by ten on days divisible by 7, then that's the law

Perhaps this will be "the law" for a poor thai farmer who can't even write his name without errors.

But cop's sayings are not a law to me unless it is a Law in fact (go get a copy of Thai Laws Code in the nearest bookstore, bro). I simply won't follow anything they may talk to me, but will follow anything written on The Book.

They may catch me, yes. They may lock me, yes. But they will receive the lawsuit the next day I get out.

They already got some. And I won.

This is the way to get rid of their "I am cop, I said something - so this is the law" for the whole nation (but just a few are following, regret to say). Sorry mr.cop, but you are NOT the one who creates the laws - just just the one who enforces the existing ones. And existing ones are written and well known.

Would someone show me the law "Teenagers must be at home after 10pm" on the Thai Laws Code? :)

  8. Everyone knows well the source of such kinds of wealth. EVERYONE, include those @AMLO. Everyone at this country pays undertable envelopes to make things done. Me myself doing that too. Why just not sound that to the public?

A thieves are punished not because they stole something - but because they was catched while doing that.

Supoth was somehow "catched" when the story leaks to the public.

Everyone knows the sources of polititian's wealths. Just divide his total wealth to his monthly salary - and see the difference. Just accept it officially, and punish him now - no need hundreds of "comissions" and years of "investigations" while others stealing around in the very same way.

Maybe after several cases of public pinushment and cleaning their own house - this country will have a chance to progress and grow up. Look to China or Singapore.

With hundreds of "comissions" and ping-ponging the very clear cases - there is not even a hope...

  9. i take exception to this persons statement about nurses pay soaring. My wife was a nurse for 17 years and there has been no increase in salary for 10 years. And even now is only 15,000 bht a month! could you live on that?. They do the work but the Doctors get the big money. About 80,000 bht a month!

our accounting gets 8000 bht per month and she can live on that. Motorbike guys get 6000 Baht and can live with that

    Daily? smile.png

PS: dont judge on their looking. I just sold my Blackberry phone (new/unopened) to the fella motorbike driver just under my window. I never met him before nor have any relations with. I just asked him to ride me to MBK (where I can sell the thing out), he asked "Pai shoppin' ror" while riding me, I answered "No, just going to sell the mobile which is not match with me", he immediately stopped and politely asked me to show the thing to him. I did, 10min conversation, bingo! smile.png

The fella had 10.000 THB just in his pocket (and that was not all he had). A small banknotes, yes (so we spent some time while counting, hehe). Hey, me myself usually have NO 10.000THB in cash on my pocket....
