This is the bit people should be worried about, people seem to think Dual Tax treaties exist so an individual can CHOOSE which rules to follow. Take a person living on an income just below the income tax threshold in Europe (perhaps a state pension) but this person is not in Europe! This person for tax purposes is resident in Thailand and his income is above the tax threshold in Thailand perhaps making him liable to pay tax in Thailand. Having paid no tax in Europe, he does not have anything to credit against his Thai Tax liability. Not intended to be a qualified response, but thought provocing all the same

Interesting topic, I go back almost 20 years and when visiting rural Thailand it was very rare you would bump into another farang and they were desperate to talk to you, now farangs are everywhere in rural Thailand and they don't speak to each other :-)

I think we are all to some degree economic migrants, except many of us are illegal immigrants based solely on the fact we do not meet the legal requirements of having the 800K in the bank and use illegal means to remain. It is almost laughable that many of these very same people are the first to condemn the people who arrive illegally on the shores of Europe on the boats etc... These people are also exploiting weak laws for their economic benefit..

I looked into this before, I was told must have a work permit (probably thinking that will get rid of me), then when I said I do have a work-permit they were saying "come back again". It won't happen, if at all for a very long time due to regulatory constraints foreign satellites cannot generally be used in Thailand.

They got the job done for me for child first passport application and made it all easy but I was furious when I learned they sat on the application for over a month before actually doing anything, passports were taking months to process and this additional and unwarranted delay caused no end of problems for me.

You are still alive, you can fix this now in a revised will as long as you can clearly establish the benefactor and your intent.
