Class differences has nothing to do with the fire, try poor fire engineering and design. Nothing new, happened in Dubai with almost brand new buildings.

In have same cards here and do not have any problems, occasionally they block it if it is unusual usage. I phone +44 131 339 7609 and it gets sorted very quickly. I also notify them in advance when I am away from my normal place of residence, again prevents any problems.

No such thing as an 'International Driving License' it is an International Driving PERMIT and is issue to accompany your normal full license for translation. The IDP has no legal standing anywhere.
Get a certified translation of your home driving license and then apply for a Thai license, makes life very easy as they, the licencing office, love translations.

This is the quite season when many ex-pats relocate during the rainy times, they will be back later in the year.

If you have remote controlled gates it is great when you have electricity and everything works fine. A problem can come during a electrical power failure that if they are not set to open and/or unlock automatically then there is a problem of how do you get out and more importantly how do you let emergency services in if there is an incident.
I know of one Moobaan where the gates cannot be opened manually during a power failure unless the motor unit is detached from the gate. That takes time and then it has to be replaced and realigned. Choose carefully.

Something rather strange about this story. 15 years with no intermediate test, doesn't compute. Anyone who is positive and on treatment normally has a yearly re-test to determine if the medication needs to be changed or modified. If not yearly certainly more than once in 15 years.

They eat tinned cat food with no problem, I had one for ages living on my porch. Came out every evening and just sat there looking at me.

There is no such thing as just an 'accident', an accident is an unplanned and wanted event caused by someones actions irrespective how remote that might be.

Try letting the battery to fuller discharge and then recharge, sometimes this reactivates the unit. Otherwise get a new battery, quite easy to do.

Not illegal if you are still linked/registered to a UK address.. (but hey)
Wrong,as others have said you need to give up your UK licence when out of the country for more than three months. And beware I had mine withdrawn after they received information that I was no longer a permanent UK resident, nothing to do with having an address there, from what is now Border Patrol or something like that. Immigration in the UK does communicate with tax office, licensing authorities etc. so beware.

Providing you have someone who speaks and understands Thai then dial *137# and work your way through the various messages telling you which number to press, takes about 24 hrs to become fully active. I was getting 5-6 per day now 1 occasionally.

Chiang Mai is a large province and the report is for 2016, this year the pollution has been greatly reduced.

Most of these comments about the owner's responsibility are incorrect. The exhaust air system and the drainage is totally the responsibility of the owner. If installed correctly in the first place it should never cause problems. If the smell is caused through leaking pipes from above, the owner's responsibility. It is possible something has died in the ceiling. It is still the owner's responsibility to investigate. The resident of the condo is not assumed to be a plumber. Of course if you have interfered with or modified any of the exhaust or drainage then the onus falls on you.
May not have an 'owner' as such, maybe a Juristic Person and therefor all the occupiers have equal responsibility. Suggest builder first to investigate and then decide on action.

The comment about a 'mouse' is so true. Some years ago I had a very nasty smell coming from ceiling, eventually traced to a dead rat in the void. Took some time to get rid of smell.

There are exit checks when you leave the UK, the Airline checks your passport when booking in for a flight and that information is passed along.

My cousin lived in Thailand for around 4 years, after being back in the U.K. for 6 months he fell ill and applied for P.I.P.(D.L.A replacement) he was refused because he had been outside the U.K. for more than a month. How could they know?
Thanks in advance"
Not enough info to give a satisfactory answer, i.e. what was the illness, age, UK status to name a few. They knew because the Border agency tells them, I know from experience living in Thailand and having been contacted by UK agencies, with no problem. With the new regulations if I return to UK I receive free medical treatment. So there is more to this than meets the eye.

A better question would be how do we defend ourselves from a zombie outbreak? Or an alien invasion? Both of these are more likely than ww3 breaking out.

Agreed, WWlll will be total and nothing left.

Sounds like you already have a possible problem and are trying to get around this system. Sort out before you come, even if you won an appeal your life at immigration in the future would be very difficult, they do not forget or forgive wrongdoers easily.

This is a little confusing. Yesterday we were told there had been 300,000 drunk drivers caught. They have seized 6,500 Vehicles in relation to drink driving offences.
What about the other 293,500? Why weren't they taken too? Were those people allowed to just pay a fine and drive off?
Yep, Know one person who was fined quite a lot for being over the 'limit' then allowed to continue on the journey driving the same car. Makes real sense???

This really has got to be the most ill-informed comment I have ever read on this forum. Bar none!
Totally agree with you, it is difficult to find words that can be used on the forum to describe such 'rubbish' , gay or not there is no need for this kind of comment. Should be banned from posting any further items.

That is why you cannot park, LPG vehicles. In a multi storey car park.!
And you think petrol cannot explode? all a lot of rubbish. It would be nice to know more about the explosion, seems only a single one which is strange as most trucks have at least eight cylinders and you would expect a BLEVE to occur, unusual not to.

not the farlang.....
teachers with genuine Ed backgrounds create "staff issues" and usually all but instantly get run out... as often as not in tears.... for "sneaking smokes on campus" or whatever.... that is, even if they ever can be found in Thailand....
so..... the very best.... and almost just as cheap sources of proxy staff.... so civil service can have lighter schedules.. sometimes entire days off.... for the entire school year.... which is a very big thing.... do not discount this at all... not at all....
might be harder to find and get processed for a "teachers license"..... to show skeptical or complaining parents (skeptical or complaining for "some" reason)....
as well as what makes collecting Tea Money for the proxy staff... Thai and farlang.... easier to convince parents of... "native English speakers"....
and the farlang group doesn't ever need civil service status.....
just some visa renewals and other paperwork.
Is this a new language or what?

These type of fire extinguishers were around long before he 'invented' one. He will have difficulty in proving his case, maybe others might sue him for the same reason.

Simple answer, Train the police to enforce the traffic laws, which has to include themselves.
