  1. @LS24 There are 2 re-entry desks that I am aware of:

    • First one is described by @Georgealbert correctly: "After check in, you go through security checks and then down the stairs to immigration. At the bottom of the stairs the re entry desk is on the right hand side, in the far corner. This is before going through passport control/stamping."
    • Second one is when you go through the "new" fast track area next to check-in counter A: You have to go all the way through security and passport control and down to the duty free area, turn left and walk to the mystical figure, then turn left and walk up to the arrival immigration are. There again turn left before entering the immigration are, and the re-entry desk is located all the way in the corner.

The first desk I know from walking past many times (last time in October), but never used it. The second one I used on 10 December this year during an emergency travel where I had no time for a "regular" immigration visit. It is a strange feeling to first get stamped out and only later to get the re-entry permit, but it works.

  2. There are certainly resorts / moo baans, where you live in a gated community mostly with foreigners (i.e. on Koh Chang Blue Haven, Siam Royal View), BUT...

    - most of them have Thai wifes, which would obviously bother you and

    - there are no shopping centers / restaurants in there, maybe a bar or a seven eleven, but that is it.

So you would have to mingle with those pesky Thais, even though you seem to believe in freedom from harassement by the locals

I understand what you mean but surely as the mother of his 3yo she would have a right?

Only, if the guy is registered as the father on the birth certificate of the child (as mentioned above). Then she could take the birth certificate and the death certificate to the court, have the court establish inheritance rights for the child, and with that paper, she can start her search

  4. IQ in a single person is given through the gene pool given at birth and can not really be increased. What CAN be increased is knowledge through education (which some people mistake for IQ), but unfortunately, good education is a spare good in Thailand.

That said... the overall IQ level in Thailand could be increased by getting rid (deportation or other measures) of all the foreign drunks sitting in bars from opening time to closing... some of which have also found their way onto AseanNow pub and frequently open posts...
