I have read table A and I may have misread but the info  seems to be more about first passport etc.

  2. Hello,

My son has both a British and Thai passport and both of then expired in April 2021. (it's a long story)

Last time I applied for his British passport, i had to give a copy of his Thai passport in the application. My wife is in the process of trying to make an appointment to renew his Thai passport and I am not sure how long this will take etc

    My question is

Can I apply to renew his British passport with his expired Thai passport? Will it still be accepted?

    Thanks for your time,

    JJP

  3. Hi Ubon Joe,

Your help, if you may please.

    Job - Visa/Work permit finishes 31 July -

Want to extend stay for 2 months from July 31 until end of September and then move to my new job in another country.

    Married to a Thai lady

    1) I know I can get a letter from my place of work to cancel but it means cancelling the visa early which is not really an option.

    2) Can I extend for 60 days (Married to a Thai) without leaving the country?

    3) What docs do I need for option 2?

    4) Can you please post the immigration order for option 2 if I can extend using this method.

    Thanks in advance,

    JJP

  6. Ubonjoe,

    Your help please sir?

My wife picked up my extension of stay this morning from Immigration just outside BKK which is valid until June 2020. My passport expires February 2020. The visa woman says I have to reapply for a new visa Jan/Feb 2020. Is this correct? I always thought the procedure was to transfer the remaining months until June 2020 into the new passport or am I mistaken? Please advise.

Thanks for you time as always,

  7. Hi all,

    Ubon Joe,

Applied for my yearly 1 year visa for married to a Thai and recieved 30 day stamp as per normal. Passport was stamped Monday 25th June (Yesterday) It was sent to BKK and i phoned my local immi and they have not recieved it back?

They told the wife not to worry as they sometime comeback late??? Never happened before in all my previous extensions?

My question is, will i get an overstay stamp?

  8. Hi Faz,

So according to this PDF you posted, unless i read it wrong?  I may be able to apply for an ID?

I have worked here for 20 years, married with 2 kids.

Do you have a PDF of this in Thai? It may be worth a visit to the local just to try and see if they will issue one.

    Cheers,

    JJP

  9. Hi,

Garry P, Nice to hear the good news getting the GF visa sorted.

Sorry for hi jacking your thread.

I have a few questions, if anyone can help before we apply for the visa

My stepdaughter’s father died when she was 2 and I am not registered legally as her father so

    1) Can I put my details as the father or her deceased father’s details even though she may not have all the details or leave it blank?

I have read that the form can’t be submitted if some details are missing?

    2) Do we have to photocopy all my wife’s and daughter’s old Uk visa pages and/or old full passport pages when I submit the supporting documents.

I will hand in the old passports so it seems pointless if the VFS have the old passports to refer to check their previous visa history to the UK.

    3) Do the photocopy bank statements have to be certified/ stamped etc by the bank?

Thanks for your time and help.

  11. Whoops forgot to ask about this also

    1) Has anybody's wife applied for a UK 10 year multi entry visa on their 5 year passport and been successful? I have read that you can fill a form in to transfer the visa to a new passport when the old passport has expired. ( The wife has just recieved her new passport)

The wife has a five year multi entry visa which will expire shortly and she was going to apply for the 10 year one next as the price difference isn't that much.

    Thanks,

    JJP

  12. Hi all, I have a few queries for the visa form, if anyone could answer them please.

I have filled a hard copy in of the from VAF1A (April 2015) so i can refer to it and then noticed towards the end about VAF1B and visiting family.

VAFIB (Nov 2012)seems like an old form to me as I can't find a new version of it online. I know they are almost the same until part 8 .

We are staying with and visiting my father.

    1) Will I be filling in form VAF1B , if this is still being used or VAF1A ? when I complete the online application form

6.1 Have you travelled to the UK in the last 10 years?

    Date Destination Purpose Duration

Did this ok. Put the previous dates in we have visited etc.

6.4 Have you been granted any UK visas in the last 10 years?

    Date Purpose Duration Reference number

    2) Now, do I type in the date we arrived like in Q 6.1 or do I type in the date when the old visas were issued, the previous visas issued are different to the travel dates we travelled. i.e Issued May 11th 2009, travelled July 1st 2009.

    Thanks for your help.

  13. Thanks Bobrussell.

The company have already said they tell the ECO if they do indeed phone them.

She has a good visa history, as does my wife.

    A few more queries,

!) Do they give me a choice of appointment times to choose from ( same as when I renewed my passport) after i have completed the application or do they give me the time of the appointment?

    2) As we are going as a family, Is it possible to give my wife and daughters application in at the same time (i.e for my wife appointment) even if they give me two different appointment times after i have completed the two visa applications?

I will of course write a cover letter as well as write on my wife's application in other information about our daughter coming with us for a visit and visa versa on my daughters.

    Thanks again,

    JJP

  14. Thank you Old Git.

    1) Sorry , but how do I link their applications? Probally a simple answer ;-)

Apply for my wife first and quote her reference number? Would we have to submit all the same documents for the two applications?

    2) She has just finished. However, she working at a company for her Uni internship/work place to finish off her degree and they have offered her a job. She could get a letter from them stating this, hence the reason for coming back and also submit the uni grades as well to prove she has been studying for the last 4 years.

    3) She doesn't have any assets as she still lives with us, other than the 100,000 in her account so My wife and I will sponsoring her and supplying the ness documents.

    Thanks again,

    JJP

  15. Hi all, 7 by 7

I will be applying for a 5 year UK visa for my wife (already had 5 year before, just expired and a few single entry visas before. She has her own business ) and we are also planning on taking the daughter (my stepdaughter,) and son to the UK in the summer for a holiday to stay with my family again.

My stepdaughter has been a few times already when she was under the accompanying child visa category. Now, she is just finishing University (aged 22) and is still under our supervision so to speak but I am not sure how to submit the application for her?

    1) Do I have to submit two applications or can I put her on my wifes application as a dependent even though she is 22? The reason I ask is that the appointment times may be different, submitting the same documents twice etc if I have to send in two different applications .

    2) Will her university grades printed in colour be enough to submit or would she need a letter from the university to state that she has been studying there for the past 4 years?

She also has about 100,000 baht in an account that she has saved which can be submitted along with my wifes/my bank account statements.

Thanks for your time and help in answering my query,

    Kind regards,

    JJP

  16. Vientiane will do the non-o if you have a total of 800k baht. You will need a letter from the embassy and your bank book showing the amount needed above your annual income the money just needs to be in the bank their is no seasoning requirement.

Savannakhet is not recommended because they are reluctant to do them and have asked for both an income letter and 800k in the bank.

    Ubonjoe,

A friend was told by the Thai Embassy in Vietnam last week that he had to go back the UK to get the NON O as it wasn't possible to GET it there or in the region? New rules they told him????

So if he shows them 800k in a bank account(which kind of account, saving I persume?) at The Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, he should be able to get one (according to the above in bold) and then get the extension of stay at CW before the 90 day expires.

Thanks for your time as always,

  17. If i install this version, will it install over my gotham 13.2 version?

Just wondering if I have to re-add all the add-ons again?

This is simply the replace web address for xbmchub.com so you install nothing in xbmc with it just use it to find all your stuff and help.

The fusion replacement should have auto updated in your xbmc already if you had it installed to http://fusion,tvaddons.ag if not add it and select what you want from it. It will not over write anything.

    Hi Joncl,

I noticed that the BBC MX BBC player no longer works? Will it be working soon?

    Thanks for your time,

  18. Hi Joncl,

If i install this version, will it install over my gotham 13.2 version?

Just wondering if I have to re-add all the add-ons again?

Thanks for the BBC MX Player, works a treat.

Also, is it possible to install/use an external VDO player into XMBC like VLC/MX player or something similar instead of using the internal player.

    Cheers,

    JJP

  19. I do not get what you mean, as this is a XBMC video add-on not an app, it is all done within XBMC which of course must be running for you do do this, so please explain more.

    Hi Joncl,

I downloaded your xmbc MX player add on successfully on my android 4.2.

I tried the same on my TOT android box but it won't download the add on.

It states 0% downloading and then just stops.

    cheers,

    JJP

  20. it was cleaned up when we added it to the xbmchub add-on installer, which you can get from fusion, I have changed my add-on page to say this "06/06/2014 - it is best to use the XBMCHUB Add-on installer to install this addon."

    Good luck with it ..

    Hi Joncl,

Great app. It works like a treat. Thanks.

I downloaded it on my 4.2 android box and it works great

    One question?

Is there any reason why it won't download on my TOT android box?

The app is there but when it states downloading, it just stops.

    Cheers,

    JJP

  21. It is accepted for children. Immigration has even suggested they overstay instead of getting extensions.

    Ubonjoe,

I plan to take my son to the uk for a holiday leaving on his Thai passport and entering the uk on his Uk passport

It will be myself and my son only who will be going and My Thai wife will not.

My question to Ubonjoe or anyone else who can help answer it is

Do i need a letter or proof to show Thai immigration that my wife is ok that her son is leaving the country with her consent?

Has anyone recently left with their child and can share their experiences taking their child out of Thailand without mum accompying them.

    thanks in advance

    JJP

You should have a letter from your wife stating you have permission to take your child out of the country.

Thanks for your swift reply as always Ubon, your a gent

    One more thing,

Does the letter have to be stamped by a lawyer or MOF Thai? or will just a letter written and signed by the wife suffice?

My wife will be seeing us off anyhow so if the Thai Immigration ask questions she will be on hand ao answer any questions.

    Cheers,JJP

  23. Thanks for the quick reply, and I understand that the requirement to show before the date is not a "Stay Until" scenario, but my immigration entry stamp at Bangkok says it's only until 14th May which was in keeping with my original "appear back on" date as it was on a single re-entry permit. My original 1yr extension expires on 14th May.

as ubonjoe said your permit to stay will continue after the stamped 14th May because the visa is under consideration you will not be illegal on and after May 15th if the extension hasn't been finished.

To give an extreme example if your extension is still under consideration in September (unlikely) you are still legal.

There is only one possible problem and that is if you need to leave the country after 14th May and before an extension has been granted then you loose the extension and are back to square one. You would have to get a new Non-O and start all over again.

    hi Ubon, Tbone

I was planning to fly home 2 days after my 30 day stamp/ extension of stay should been approved by immigration but reading about these delays that may be a problem.

My question is, If i tell them about my situation,

Can the immigration give me a 2 month under consideration stamp so that i would be able collect the extension when i arrive back. I know i can get the single 60 day extension but i would rather continue with the yearly extension.

    thanks for your time
