  1. Many thanks to the Op @cliveshep for starting this thread, very useful, sensible and probably timely for many of us, a good call-to-action to dedicate some thought and action to this delicate subject. Some very useful responses, info and links. Specifically happy with the link to Amar Retatriations, the idea of pre-paying for the cremation is perfect, takes a lot of burden off of grieving f&f.
  2. The term AI is so horribly overused at present, as Blockchain was a couple of years ago. This activity seems more about CCTV than AI, nowhere is it explained what the AI part is doing. I suggests that the AI is doing analysis of whether a crime has taken place, but it is not clear... This bit sounds like 'manpower' more than 'AI'... 'These images, along with the vehicle registration details, were sent to the City Law Enforcement Office to track down the owners for fines'.
  3. Quote: "Responding to a distress call, law enforcement officials arrived promptly at the condo' "The officers estimated that she had been dead for approximately two hours before they arrived at the scene" ?
  4. I fly into BKK between 2 and 5 times each month, Immig varies every single time, depends on the time of day, the flights that came in just before you, day of week, how many Immig officers called in sick that day, etc etc, it's pot-luck...
  5. Hi I use a Thai Book Keeper here, her English is basic, but she works very well. If this is of interest, PM me.
  6. I know of a small rental company that does long-term rentals. Nong: nongthatphon11 AT gmail.com Not sure if they deal in the 3-4 mio THB type cars, I think mostly Toyota and Honda models.
  7. I use a barber in ThongLo, 120 Baht, been that price for at least the last two years, and 100 Baht for a shave. Same price for all customers. Further up the road, one of the trendy actor-owned branches charges 460 baht for a cut.
  8. I assume that to make these effective, then the doors and windows must be kept closed? I imagine if not then you are in a never ending process of new dirty air coming in? I ask as I like the idea, but live in a condo and have the balcony doors open all day (screens closed though...).
  9. I have been using the dental clinic in Samitivej Hospital, in Sukhumvit Soi 49, for a couple of years now, after poor or expensive service in some of the places mentioned above. I have been very satisfied with the work and pricing (general check-up's, one Root Canal etc).
  10. Approx: Airport Fee 50 THB Tolls 60 THB Fare 300 THB max You can now also use Grab. Better car but 20% more expensive
  11. If you want something small, then both the Oriental and the Shangri-La do dinner-cruises on the old rice-barge type boats, only about ten tables on each cruise, goes down to the Royal Long-Boat marina and back again. Small, intimate, great food, but pricey, of course.
  12. Just at the early stage of considering an opportunity that has presented itself. Premises that could be an independent minimart, or 7-11 / FamilyMart franchise. Side soi off of Sukhumvit, about 300m from a BTS, many hotels and condos. Nearest mart is about 300m away (7-11). What are the usual gross margins on items sold in an independent minimart? What are the usual gross margins on items sold in a 7-11 or FamilyMart? Thanks

The old Londoner Pub, when it was at Suk33, always got extensions, but not sure if the new location will?
  14. I have also appealed on this site in the past for builders, tilers etc. Not easy to find. I recently had a guy to tile my bathroom floor and walls, It was OK, but no better than that. Tiling was 'OK', but his team also fitted a new door and doorframe, a disaster! I am in Thong Lo area. The other point when requesting these details, is to state your location. Most workmen will not travel far for a job in Bangkok.
  15. Excellent log and looks like a wonderful trip, great pics. I have taken note of some of the routings, thanks. A few questions: Do you feel the CRF type of bike is essential for the type of off-road tracks you used? I have a Honda Phantom 200cc. Would it be manageable on that? Either on a CRF or another bike, would it be possible with a passenger? Did you only use Google Maps? Or also another app? Several pics showed your day's route, is that from google? Many thanks for the inspiration. Paul
