Does anyone in the Korat area have contact details for a decent person to do some floor and wall tiling? I did have a guy, but he seems to have vanished completely. I'm happy to pay well for reliability and quality work. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I would appreciate any available up to date information on this border crossing. I haven't done this since its reopening, and would like some reassurance in particular on taxi availability to SiemReap. Are things operating as they did pre-Covid? Anything I should be aware of that comes to mind?

The procedure was laprasotic, and the hospital is privately owned by the university. It is a teaching hospital, which may keep costs lower. I must stress if I was in one of the international private hospitals in Bangkok, I could not have hoped to encounter a more professional and reassuring Doctor.

I was quoted a price around B120,000 for gall bladder removal surgery here in Korat. A friend insisted he accompany me to another hospital which is part of a university here. The Doctor spoke perfect English, was entirely professional in every way, and I was utterly convinced he was the person I was going to use. I then learned the price was just a little above 50% of the first quote. (Both quotes were for a private room). As it turns out, the next time I had an attack was 10 months later, while I was in Scotland, and I had the procedure done there. If anyone is interested, and feels the journey to Korat is worthwhile, let me know and I'll provide more details.

It may be, in your opinion, a waste of money. An opinion you have formed whilst in possession of about 5% of the facts. For me, with the onerous and stressful tasks I had on last week, it was very much not a waste of money. Perhaps somewhere in my statement "I am delighted at the outcome" or "it was very much worth every penny paid" you might have picked up on that. Furthermore, despite reading a great deal recently about the Thailand Pass application process, nowhere have I seen it reported that it can be done in 5 minutes. Are you speaking from experience?

I was hugely relieved to last night receive my Thailand Pass approval and QR code. (ironically sent as a PDF). My application was made on my behalf on Monday 01 November and I am travelling on Sunday 14 November. I have a huge amount of business and personal matters to settle here in UK and I decided to employ the services of an agent. Although I still had to upload all the required documents, I was happy that someone would cast an experienced eye on them, and then would make the application on my behalf. I of course have no way of knowing if I had applied directly if the result would have been the same, but I am delighted at the outcome and feel the cost of approx. 3000 baht was very much worth every penny/baht paid. Can anyone kindly help by guiding me through the many contradictions and speculations I am finding during my research. I would like to return to Nakhonratchasima in November. I have been in the UK for approaching 3 months. I have an extension of stay based on retirement issued by Korat immigration, and a re-entry permit. I have been fully vaccinated in the U.K. Am I correct to say the 01 November reopening with no quarantine at all except for the one nights quarantine is of no use to me, because there are only certain parts of Thailand you can travel to under that scheme? It appears, on certain sites anyway, that Nakhonratchasima is not included, until 01 December. What then are my options for a November return? If not using the Thailand Pass, can I still apply for a normal CoE and travel to Korat after a period of quarantine? Is this can't stick your head out of the hotel room type quarantine, or a Sandbox style quarantine in Bangkok or a beach resort? Any knowledgeable person with time to share some facts would be very much welcomed.

Has anyone UK based used an agency who can handle the entire application process for returning to Thailand? I'm in Scotland right now, but will want to return to Thailand next month. I have so much to deal with here, I'd really like to just hand-off the entire process to someone who has experience can take handle the whole thing step by step. If anyone knows, or has used such a service, I'd very much appreciate the details, and about how much money I'd have to throw at this to make it all someone else's problem.

I've just received a message from Finnair to advise passengers fabric masks are no longer acceptable. They state FFP2 / FFP3 or surgical masks must be worn by all passengers. I have already purchased a supply of KN95 masks for my flight this weekend. Does anyone know if KN95 is equivalent to any of those? If not, with many places closed, this is yet another obstacle to negotiate, along with obtaining a PCR test in good time, registering for PLF at the last minute, and nursing a taxi driver who is terrified of driving back to Korat after curfew, despite my assurances and copies of Passport, flight ticket etc. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
