Now we definitely know that tourists won't return for a very long time! The spokesman from this office think that a speech a day is the same as an apple a day.
The ridiculous regulations in place to come to Thailand will ensure that tourism will drop substantially for years to come. The loss of restaurants and tourism facilities in tourist resorts will take years to recover. Many people living overseas have lost their jobs or been furloughed. They just don't have the money for long haul holidays.

I am surprised that they didn't double the price for farangs! Oh I forgot that they are already selling them to farangs and merely gouging them for an extra 100,000 baht.

Thai ministers are always too excited to announce their proposals without any due diligence
Obviously why the the "Non Ministry of the Guys who Hate Drinking" keep pushing for yet more drinking bans.

Making the rules tougher for farangs coming in legally seems a typical Thai response for people slipping into the country illegally!

Looks like the contacts with the 3 have travelled themselves and the list of contacts will be growing as well. Maybe they will report nothing to see, or maybe they will use this as a way to lockdown the provinces again. Anything can happen I guess, but it can also just stay the same.
I am surprised that the rate so far has been so low and that the majority of Thais have actually been following the guidelines. If only they could do the same with motorcycle helmets! Many more deaths many days from traffic accidents than from covid19 in the past 8 months.

A pragmatic decision. At least the people who are actually here are spending money and at the moment the hurdles for coming to Thailand are horrendous and extremely expensive. I, before retirement, used to visit Thailand 3 or 4 times a year. If I had to spend 2 weeks in an expensive quarantine prison with the first week confined to my hotel room I certainly would have chosen another country to visit for my holiday.

"Reacting to questions on why she was not quarantined when she entered Thailand, the Disease Control Department's director-general, Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, said that the case was under probe."
Maybe it's because only dirty farangs with loads of money are being fleeced by the Thai Government and forced into expensive quarantine prison. It's assumed that all good Thai people will actually obey the quarantine regulations just as they obey (?) the wearing of motorbike helmets.

I don't think that this poor man realizes that his comments will soon be in the International Press and Media Outlets. What a great advert for Thailand "we are ripping off tourists!".

Don't know anything about Bangkok or Chiengmai but in Pattaya it's dead. Half of the decent restaurants are closed some permanently. The bars are dead many hotels are shut. The ones that remain open have 10% occupancy during the week and 30% at the weekend. Phuket is suffering even worse than Pattaya.

How do I stick brown envelopes into my mobile phone surely it's easier just to secretly hand them over at the time of the alleged incident.

The Committee will only take 4 years to come to a conclusion? WOW so quick then it probably will go to Parliament and delayed even more.

All those disgusting trees which he seems to dislike will be pruned so much they will die. Perhaps about a dozen 7/11s would help improve the park because it wouldn't be too far for people to walk to buy food to litter the park!

Guess there are no cars with dirty exhausts in Thailand.
I mainly see dirty smoke from lorries, pickups and buses. They use the roads more often. In the UK and most developed countries taxis have a 3 monthly check up like an MOT test which would pick up dirty exhaust pipes. Motorbike drivers who take their baffles out of their exhaust pipes are also a big problem.

Maybe some weed could be supplied to the head of TAT to either make him sleepy and make less annoying announcements or make more even more impractical ones.

Length of skirts and hair is more important to the twits running the Education Department than actually educating the students. Is it any wonder why so many students are on the streets protesting?

Banning big lorries at peak hours makes sense because they belch out smoke waiting in traffic jams. The better solution is to test the exhaust pipes of all lorries, busses and pickups and ban them from the roads until they have been fixed. Sadly the brown envelope syndrome will undermine that solution.

Obviously the head of TAT should be appointed to lead the team as he has many great ideas. In fact he produces at least one unworkable idea a day.

He obviously is getting advice from TAT make an announcement a day but still the tourists stay away because of the nightmare rules of being able to come to Thailand.

These will be very special cameras that will be able to look inside of vehicles to detect people being smuggled into Thailand. Oops I forgot I don't think such cameras exist!
