  1. I fit the OP's criteria perfectly....however I recently celebrated my 40th birthday with my wonderful gf.

You have to wonder how this will work....perhaps psychological profiling will do the trick.

I nominate StreetCowboy to begin his research.....up to you which member you choose.....

Happy Birthday Smokie - in the absence of our own forum perhaps this thread will suffice.

Or perhaps another 'I haven't been rolled by a Thai lady, love living in the tropics and have no embittered opinions to espouse' thread may serve the purpose.

    Only 2 members so far..

  2. Ever seen Thai boxers after their carreer? Most have serious health problems and former Thai top fighters havent got a dime to show for it because of dodgy managers and contracts.

And those pro MMA guys i think some of those guys have some issues with steriods and need some anger management training.

Better to get youre kids a good education then getting brain damage at an early age.

It's a good job that Manny Pacquiao's parents didn't wrap him up in cotton wool. $26m for his last fight? MMA will eclipse Boxing in the next few years.

Muay Thai is a sport and not a alternative to education - much better for kids to be spending time after school at the MT gym than on Playstation.

For every Pacquiao. how many kids would you estimate never got out of the barrio ? Even 'success stories' like Tyson seem to end up as cautionary tales, and it's hard to find anyone from Ali's era who can still string a sentence together. While I don't completely agree with Kudel's post either, I suspect that the people who do very well from fighters are the managers, promoters and bookmakers. I seem to recall that at least one regular here claims to have spent months in Muay Thai camp - he may be able to give us more insight - but Western boxing has one of the worst reputations of any sport and that isnt likely to improve with internet betting now an industry worth billions.

Muhammad Ali is 70 years old so any professional boxer from that era may not be the most coherent. I would be more interested in examples of fighters that retired in this millennium that are the cautionary tales.

  4. It appears that the majority of arguments that develop on this forum are a consequence of difference of opinions which occasionally have a tendency to become rather protracted and circular.

I am one of the readers that tend to 'heart' the topics, postulations or rebuttals that I enjoy reading, but there is no forum for objection beyond entering the conversation to voice displeasure.

Healthy debate is to be encouraged and is one of the reasons I find this forum engaging, although not all posts are equal. It would be great to have the ability to feedback the bad as well as the good without having always to enter the fray.

  5. I train at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket - I'm an MMA student but we work in a lot of BJJ moves. Head coach is Fernando Maccachero, a 4th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Crezio de Souza, also holds a Brown Belt in Judo.

No BBJ events in Thailand that I've seen yet - we're off to BKK on 12th October for DARE (thai organisation for MMA) as one if our team are fighting if you are interested in that sort of thing.

  6. same owner hehe i know the one down at the pier got a branch in rawai to..

well they dont hold your passport if you dont want, becuse some people are to scared to go themself to extend the visa at immigration so they leave the passport at the school and they do it for a extra fee, if you attend to the classes you dont need to use this service

Really! Is the one in Chalong called _ _ _ ?

  7. In the interests of researching this topic I revisited Trattoria Eliis this evening. I am delighted to confirm that any reports of a drop in quality are greatly exaggerated.

That can only mean that the quality in the previous location was greatly exaggerated.

Or it could simply mean that members have different preferences. One man's fully loaded with Pineapple and a hot dog in the crust is another man's Margarita. I'm a man on the Margarita side.

  8. After hearing some horror stories about a certain language school near Chalong pier (passports being held for 2 months) I am looking for a reputable language school and dropped into Phuket Rawai language school on Sai Yuan.

Would be interested if anyone studies here, or indeed, anyone who has experienced similar problems to the one mentioned above?

    Thanks in advance

  9. 'The men are weak and the women drink too much': The damning verdict on British culture from a Russian heiress

Model Katerina Elizarova launches provocative attack on 'weak' British men

They have 'woefully bad manners', but Russian men 'take care of everything'

And, in questionable taste, she jokes: 'If he beats you, then he loves you'

  10. I may be able to help you. I am an arborist and a horticulturist.

But, I can not seem to open your photo to see it well.

If you send the photo to me in a PM I will do what I can for you.

The Italian couple are still in the kitchen and knocking up Pizzas that put the local competition to shame.post-166803-13797713813782_thumb.jpg

  12. During a rather heavy night of drinking with friends around Chalong last week my (English) wife somehow parted company with her new iPhone. Not password protected.

Tried to call the phone the following day but it rang off - called DTAC who were excellent, tried to locate the phone using Find my iPhone. Assumed it was gone. Two days later a friend contacted me and told me a Thai lady had called him from the missing device. It was collected and she took some serious persuasion to accept a couple of thousand Bhat as a reward.

Nobody stood anything to gain anything here. Just a simple act of honesty and kindness you would be hard pressed to find in many other places in the world.

  13. As a Pizza lover living in Rawai I've made it a personal mission to find the best Pizza on the island.

There is a small restaurant called 'Ellis' at the beginning of the Viset end of Sai Yuan 1 (before Rawai Muay Thai) run by an Italian couple. Try their frutti di mare pizza if you want to take advantage of local ingredients. They open from around 4pm most day. Enjoy!

  14. To be honest I'd rather be cheated by a shopkeeper occasionally for a few pence than by the UK government for thousands of pounds a month. A small bit of rough with a lot of smooth.

  15. Google: why are bodybuilders so short

Bodybuilders are very often short-arsed runts with serious hangups.

Real men do not want or need muscles. Girls know this.

Bodybuilders and others who decide to look after their bodies are often also extremely disciplined, care about what they eat and drink, don't smoke and take pride in their appearance. That is attractive in men and women alike.

It does sound like there are some serious hangups here - and not on the part of the vilified 'bodybuilders''!

    No, that was silly.

I'm somewhere between 6 foot 1 and 6 foot 2. You know as well as I do that PROVIDING I STAY SLIM I don't need muscles in order to get the girls. Sure, there are other factors too. I'm talking about hygiene, dress sense and a lifestyle that's free from alcohol and cigarettes.

But the simple fact is that most bodybuilders are little men with little willies. There are exceptions. Arnie is an exception. And we all love Arnie!

Look at this jerk. I just dug him out on Google. He's five foot four. What a runt! Do you honestly think any woman will take him seriously?

    Posted Image

Thanks for sharing your insight - so anyone below average height is a 'runt', anyone who lifts weights isn't a 'real man' or a 'jerk' and lacking in the trouser department, never to be taken seriously by women.

Sounds like someone might have had their girlfriend stolen by a gym rat..
