  1. it is prtty much exclusive to the Thonglorpolice district. Asoke to Thonglor bordered by klong San Seab and Sukhumvit on either side.

I havve never encountered the phenomenon elsewhere, though i am told the Patpong police sometimes oblige, and Lumpini cops may do it but only on sois 3 and 4

  2. My point is he could get travel insurance, OK it might be 30-50

Would like to know from exactly which insurance company this is achievable. Am assuming it's a UK-based company, what are the restrictions:purchaser must be resident in the UK?, purchaser must start their journey in the UK? Much appreciated...

Hi, We got travel insurance with Debenhams insurance in the UK for 28 GBP, which covered us for one year. You must be a UK resident and you must start your journey from the UK. If you are planning to stay away longer than that or have not been back to the UK in over 12 months you then have to get Expat insurance.

so i have done the quotation process, and Debenhams insurance for 365 days of uninterrupted travel is quoted at a minimum of 387 pounds with a 100 pound excess to be paid before any monies will be received.

For multi-trip to with a maximum of 31 days of travel with 100 pound excess, the cheapest policy is 50 pounds.

unless you are willing to post your policy details i can only believe your claims are spurious and no underwriter would provide cover to Asia and worldwide for the amount you claim.

Either that, or you cover came with a ludicrously high excess and includes only very limited (to no) medical cover, no evac or repatriation.

The other option is that you purchased the wrong plan and were not properly covered for your trip at all.

im not trying to be an utter <deleted> here, but i have some experience in the industry and cannot fathom your numbers.

  3. I'm sorry if you felt slighted by my post. I am just telling it like it is. A question was asked - an answer was made. You don't like my answer? That's your problem.

Many farang men give Thai women the eye. Is it because they are easy prey? Perhaps. There is that notion that Thai women are easy. Well - just look for videos (and there are lots of them - like that SNL video) portraying Thailand as a male's vacation "Disneyland". Did the OP ask the question to confirm whether his White BF was really in love with her? Perhaps - but only she can answer that question.

Do I think her BF will remain with her, have children and grow old with her? I cannot answer that question.

Would you have reacted similarly if I answered in favor of White women? Are you racist?

It is funny that you should react so strongly towards my post candypants. The OP asked for our opinion and I gave mine. I don't know why you would think I am threatened by by women? I love them all. The topic is about Thai and Farang Women and whether Thai Girls feel threatened by Farang Girls (or rather - Women). And no need to get all ballistic about this. Or are you yourself threatened by Thai women?

stupid remark. not worth further acknowledgement. little more than a cheap shot by one who feels threatened by women himself.

To answer the OP, the thai women i know are not frightened or put of by white women. rather they tend to collect them.

now are many farang guys intimidated by Thai males? The ones paying for companionship often are.

it was a cheap shot, and a cliche to boot.

To infer that white women should feel threatened by Thai women seems to indicate that you may not love them all despite your claims to the contrary.

whatever your reasons for the remark one group is being disrespected.

i do not feel strongly about this, but am certainly willing to react to the remark

yes i would have reacted similarly had you come forth with an inane generalization of Thai women.

In fact your remark can be interpreted to insinuate that Thai women are all conniving she-devils that white women should be wary of, or quite the opposite, that they are paragons of femininity that western women cannot compete with.

    Either view is reductive twaddle.

  4. First it depends if you want to drink "coffee", or just some brown water.

Then it depends how many cups you drink per day.

Just bought a Nespresso machine at Central Festival.

But they have no capsules. Amazing Thailand, or whatever.

But they sell a system called "Capsul-in". (Google is your friend)

A friend brought me 1kg of coffee from Brasil. Excellent.

When it is finished I'll use the coffee I roast myself. 70 Baht/kg. Robusta directly from a farmer in Kraburi.

    C

if you are going to go to all the trouble of pissing around making your own capsules, faffing about with adhesive foil and figuring out the right grind and tamp, why by a nespresso machine?

why not just buy a decent espresso machine?

cut down on the garbage and throw away nonsense and having to buy a pointless system that locks you into a limited choice of coffee or purchasing replacement capsule packs when a simple portafilter (cup on espresso machine) is already designed to do exactly that?

  5. ill bite, the english was tortured and so awkward even the native speakers struggled with it.

other than that, it was a cute diversion, but technically not very interesting.

id spend more time on my script and perhaps push the actors a little harder.

  6. As long as your child has regular exposure to both languages, they will learn accordingly. Language acquisition will take longer, and it will take time before your child can differentiate between both languages, so even at the age of 5 you would still be likely to get some utterances that are a mix of L1 and L2.

not so sure about that, my daughter certainly has never mixed languages and at 6 becomes quite irritated of i do so, usually to wind her up. If i ask her what are we ginning tonight, she will correct me.

I think it should be the other way around. Farang women SHOULD feel threatened by Thai women.

  8. . the only other possibility is to download the paypal app for your mobile, and access your account from your phone.

Interesting. Surely if they are going to great lengths to detect IP addresses through the usual browsers - then one would think their mobile app would be automatically under scrutiny for IP location also?

indeed. one would think the app suggestion was made by some one who did not understand that mobile phones have ip addresses just the same as everyone else on the internet

  10. The reason I asked is because I was recently on tour in northern Thailand with my bike and ran into a sticky situation where I had less gas in the tank than I expected when I set out from the last town. I was going down a huge hill (15 minutes I would guess) and turned off the engine and was able to make it to the next gas pump. It's not a situation I hope to be in again but wanted to ask and see if I was actually saving gas. I got my answer, thanks. By the way the lights were still on so I am not sure what all this talk about losing control of the bike is.

I have also heard that the belief that starting an engine uses a lot of gas is actually a myth.

    i pity you.

  11. Two things wrong with a spouse that doesn't have a job:

one thing wrong with a husband who let's his wife work for others instead of taking care of her husband whistling.gif

it's of course a different situation if the wife's income is required to make a reasonably comfortable living.

    edit:

when i made a similar statement in Thaivisa (Ladies' Forum) several years ago this was one of the react reactions:

    working%20wives.jpg

gee, did ya have it blown up and framed?

But the real question is has the op put his wife on the firm yet?

  12. Google has a few interesting clips on using computers in the classroom. Of course they're commercially interested with their chromebook, but it shows what is possible. Go to youtube and search for 'eduatgoogle'. Or just start here

if google has some interesting clips i suspect that was not one of them as all it did was trot out IT cliches on a south park background.

It was pure hype with no substance.
