  1. As you realise that’s showing fully charged … https://www.manua.ls/ctek/xs-0-8/manual?p=2 … in case you have lost your manual …as you say have to look elsewhere ….
  2. Bit late now but best would have been for her to get a UK licence in the past. Maybe a little different now but when we lived in the UK … in 2002 onwards …MrsJ studied the Highway Code for six weeks and during that time had driving lessons … passing her test seemed no problem. Plenty on the internet for her to practice the multi choice questions and the videos. I don’t recall having to pay any extra car insurance … was insured through Cornhill. She very quickly learned that ‘the Thai smile’ doesn’t help when you want to push in … initially roundabouts scared the <deleted> out of me and the driving instructor … lol
  3. I bought a CTEK 5.0 many years ago … try to remember to put it on our batteries every couple of weeks or so … never had a battery fail and usually get 4 years out of them.
  4. Yes..it was ‘kin hot on the golf course this morning.
  5. It’s about a two hour drive from Kanchanaburi town. The course condition is really great and so are the greens. Unfortunately dual pricing 700thb for Thai and 1000 for none Thai. Nowhere did it say that until we went to pay. Anyway good price so not a real problem. We stayed two days. There were about 30 Koreans staying so we had to go off after them, so started playing about 8am. Play was quick, good job really as temperature soon got up to 41C. Our room was quite large and could be described as quite okay. Other than breakfast we had meals in a restaurant about 4kms away. Their swimming pool has been closed since Covid, so not a lot else to do…golf course appeared empty in the afternoon ………probably best to visit when it’s not quite so hot …. We drove up to Vajiralongkorn Dam Golf Course with the idea of staying there and playing …took one look at it …very very dry and decided no. Off to Grand Prix GC for a couple of days ..
  6. At present weekday all in price at Grand Prix Golf Club is 1800thb and 1400thb to stay. Weekend price is more and towards the end of the year both are much more. The offer is valid for wd and we until the end of the year. Grand Prix stand is next to the Merc stand. We also wandered through the BMW stand …didn’t recognise it at first …no oil on the floor ……..
  7. I think it’s actually called Rose Garden at Suan Sampran …MrsJ phoned up and asked about staying … they said 6000thb but that included one activity. As we were only interested in playing golf we stayed at Xen in Nakhon Pathom ..room 420 can recommend 1600thb …only problem with Xen is that breakfast was outside .. no air con obviously … and even at 7am it was quite warm. Quite a few years ago we did stay there with friends … did the handicraft things eg made a clay pot … went on the water …bicycle ride etc wasn’t that price though!
  8. Has anyone actually been there either playing golf or staying…if so what is it like? I understand that most of the Koreans who were there earlier this month have now gone back home. We have to do the annual family thing in Kanch next week so MrsJ is suggesting afterwards that we have a few days there. It’s quite cheap …700thb all in and 800thb to stay with breakfast. Also at Bangkok Motor Show I’m told that there is an offer available for playing at Grand Prix golf club if anyone is interested.
  9. Just in case anyone is interested we were there earlier this week … the course is really lovely and the greens fast. All in price very reasonable at 1500thb. Staying there is another matter though … needed to have been in bitcoin years ago!.
  10. Thanks ...Yes ...that is what we were seeing and no reply from 034 910 310/311. Renovations? not long since that course was re-opened...Koreans only? (Waterland is Koreans only now 365days a year) Anyway MrsJ says that Kanch will be a bit hot. So have decided to play Khao Cha Ngok (N-Nayok)... Chiraprawat (N-Sawan) and Dong Phu Koed (Phitsanulok) ... it will get us away from BKK for a few days.
  11. Have been trying to find out their promotiond fo this month ... they are not answering their phone and their FB ipage has not been updated for nearly a year. Anyone any updates please.
  12. We bought an Everest 3.2Ltr Titanium Plus 4by4, top of the range model in late 2015 it’s been very reliable..only problems we have had were crankshaft sensor failed and rear main oil seal leaked. These were fixed by Ford under warranty. Car always serviced by Ford main Dealer and only 58K kms. So I would certainly recommend an Everest Intention was to keep this car long term, but were tempted by something else so vehicle now surplus to requirements and will reluctantly sell it in the near future.
  13. Was that a flippant comment ..or just one completely lacking knolwedge.
  14. Be careful putting a fully Synthetic enging oil into the two older cars ... good chance that it will cause the crankshaft oil seals to start leaking.. I wouldnt recommend anyhing other than Mobile 1 for the newer car. Yes,and as said above use a quality oi filter.
  15. Can anyone recommend a reputable company please …Car is W221. … tks
  16. You not only need to compare the model prices. Here both BMW and Merc come quite heavily loaded with extras, whereas in the UK,at least, the car comes basic and I can assure you the extras cost a lot ….but you do get to pick and choose what extras you want…here the car comes as is …little or no choice.
  17. What a relief to see you… was worried that you may have committed suicide. Guess you also spent a little time dreaming up pointless topics to post…….
  18. Types of car insurance in Thailand… https://www.roojai.com/en/car-insurance/compare/ unfortunately, the rest of your question cannot be answered with the information you gave. type of car, value of car, age of car, age of driver, etc. etc. is needed. As an example, we are paying 11,000 Baht for our Everest and nearly ฿50,000 for our E350e First insurance is a good idea as if you have an accident the rep from the insurance company who comes to the scene of the accident will deal with nearly everything for you….provided it is a reputable company
  19. Worked for me now for a couple of years … you are talking out of your arse …
  20. https://www.drive.com.au/reviews/2024-mg-4-review/ Someone might find this interesting ….
  21. I have registered several car at Nonthaburi LTO …always used my Yellow Book …you have been here many years so will no doubt have one …use it
  22. Look at getting the best and secure savings rates available. Also you might find that your wife can get better interest rates than you can. Interest rates are getting better, so have a good look around Also, how old is your daughter … she could help her Mother in years to come
  23. And there was me thinking only half of your post was about Pattaya …. I’m a terrible person…. How many posts are you up to now … today.
  24. Well I have first registered and sold cars both in Bangkok and Nonthaburi using my Yellow Book, so above is not quite true.
