I travel twice a week in Pattaya. Previously, a trip costed 180 to 220 baht. Now the trip is 340 - 380 baht. The corresponding trip with hired songtaew costs 300 baht and with regular taxi 400 baht. According to the drivers I have talked to, gross income is 2,000-4,000 baht per day.

I collided with a Thai motorcyclist who did not have a driving license. He was fined 100 bath for not having a driver's license.
Now you get 10 times higher fine when you drive over a solid line.
Where is the logic?

You are not wrong, but Thaland is not like the rest of the World, so you are wrong.

In Sweden, normally 45 days travel insurance is included for free in home insurance.

You are wrong!
In my yellow house book it is written, สถานภาพ (= status) is เจ้าบ้าน (= owner).
I live in the house as owner (actually guardian of my underage children who own the house).
-
As far as I know, Royal Thai Navy owns the first 25 yard of the beach, calculated from Mean Water Level (MWL) as it is with my Beach Front Land. Next time, ask the hotel manager to see the nearest official government survey marker for their chanote.

In my yellow housebook has amphur signed me as owner of the property, that is owned by my two underage children.

Thailand saw 22,000 deaths in road accidents in 2016, or approximately 50 to 60 cases per day, while 1 million people were wounded and sought hospital treatments each year, 60,000 of whom were permanently disabled. (From http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/breakingnews/30333764).
22,000 / 365 = 60. “7 Dangerous Day” appear to be the 7 safest days of the year with "just" 48 dead per day.

If you stay in Bangkok more than 24 hours you have to report within 48 hours.

New law since last year.
Thailand’s Employment Department found that, in some cases, foreign national company directors were signing corporate income tax and financial statements even though they did not hold a Thai work permit. This was a problem because “signing documents” is considered productive work in Thailand. Thai authorities have now made it clear that foreign nationals cannot sign company tax documents or financial statements without a work permit.
Still you can sign documents as anual statement.
You can be a director if you are not workning!

Just get a new Thai passport and you will have no gap.
-
Yingluck Shinawatra had four passports.
I know many Thai people who have more than one passport.
If you go in or out of Thailand as a citizen, you can use the machines and you will not receive a stamp in your passport.

Carelessness in traffic costs 500 - 1,000 baht. Take the fine and let the insurance company pay the rest.
Or do as I did, refuse fines unless the police fines the other party for not using a helmet and not having a driver's license.

It's my old car.
I sold it to a travel agency six months ago.
Probably they just would pick up a guest and take him to a hotel.
Not an Uber this time either.

Defamation.
The former chariman took an e-mail I wrote in English, translated it into Thai so it looked like defamation. I became acquitted after I gave the court a correct translation from a translation agency. Now it's the other party who will end up in jail for accusing me of being a criminal and lying under oath in court.
-
In Thailand, anyone can go to court and accuse you of being a criminal. You do not need to go through police and prosecutors as in other countries. You must pay the bail to avoid custody and you may not leave Thailand. I speak of experience as the committee chairman in a condo in Pattaya.

Thats why!

Also you do not have to pay annual fees if you use the card to a large extent.
Try to find a better card in Thailand!
-
If you live in Thailand, you should of course use an AMEX issued in Thailand.
-
I would say that 99% of PTT stations accept AMEX. You have one on Sukhumvit Naklua near Soi 3 that only accept cash. All Esso and Caltex accept AMEX (at least my Thai Platinum AMEX). In Pattaya all stations except Shell and above PTT accept my AMEX. Used AMEX in a gasstation first time in Thailand 1977.
-
Sorry Mr Wimpy, should be Mr Halloagain.
-
Before you got 3% discount at Shell when you used AMEX, now they don't accept it. Most other petrol companies accept AMEX.
I pay all I can with my Thai AMEX. The point gives me a trip to Europe in Business Class every year.
That is why I want to pay more by using an Amex card instead of cash Mr Wimpy.
