  1. Well you can float fish the irrigation canals (NOT KLONGS).

Usually on the way to BSR theres some good natural spots (but no fisherman stops there because BSR mission).

    Theres this one spot

    Sunflower Bangkok
Prasert-Manukitch Rd, Khwaeng Lat Phrao, Khet Lat Phrao, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10230

I see a lot of thai people fishing there using floats and bait, or artificial lures.

Finally made it out to the new BSR, and was favorably impressed by the facilities.  A lot like the old one, but no dock running up the middle of the lake.  Fishing was still great, and the catfish seemed bigger. The guide told me the owner had stocked some bigger fish up to 200 kg.  I don't know if that's a fish story...

Also good on fishing, they pulled out more big Siamese carp in one day than I had seen in dozens of trips to the old BSR, up to about 50-60 kg that I saw.

Bad news:  Though they still charge 400 baht for locals and resident foreigners (I used my DL), they upped the fee for tourists to 4,000 baht.  A reasonable price compared to "back home" but this isn't back home.  Still, $130 for the fishing day of a lifetime is pretty cheap in real world terms.  They also offer annual memberships that seem to be all in (instead of previously, where the membership just gave you a discount as I recall)  15,000 baht is the annual fee I recall, but I don't know the terms and conditions, so don't hold me to it.

It is further out of town than the old place, but not in a crowded neighborhood so the drive actually seemed easier. The folks running the place were pleasant and patient as usual.  The bungalows looked a little nicer than before, but we fished the dock.  Bungalow next time.  Overall, a great day on the water as long as you;'re not looking for a wilderness fishing experience.

Went out there a few times this year. One thing I love about the Bungalows is that the big fish are near (especially at night) and they feed on the bait that comes off from cleaning the coil feeders (slamming it on the water over and over). Once theyre drawn in and you see them moving through the rick husk cloud, grab another rod with just a straight hook to the line, bait it up tight ball around the hook and throw it in the water around the cloud, and let it drop down naturally. If in 15 seconds of hitting the bottom theres not a hit, softly reel it back in and drop it back into same spot.

Ah thats great! Personally the last time I went to BSR I decided to ditch the float and coil feeder method halfway through and just pack a ball of lum straight on the hook and shake it getly in the water near the dock (where fish hang out feeding off bait scraps). Keep in mind that the fish here are mainly from the old pond, ready to tangle your line in the pylons.

The trick here is to steer the fish away from the dock as soon as you set the hook.

  4. How sad. Another reminder how little these people think about concequences.

    What consequences?

A slap on the hand and a 500 baht fine?

A 500 baht fine for murdering 2 children? Clearly you don't have children yourself, not that that's an excuse for such an utterly vile post.

    Hang your head in shame.

Theres a difference between a foreigner who doesnt understand Thailand and wants to learn, and a foreigner who is so selfish that they refuse to understand Thailand and refuses to learn.

that 500 baht quote really showed you for what you are.

  5. All of them are probably partying at Demo Thong Lor or something similar. If not, then they're probably sleeping in their comforable bed waiting for a comfortable breakfast cooked by their maids.

I use to have friends like this when I was a teenager. I dont know how they live with themselves. Seeing as the way they talk to their maids and the cooks, I would never dare have a meal at their house. I will never <deleted> with the people who handle my food, but apparently they dont understand that.

  6. Why can't the arrogant red shirt fools understand that the protests will only continue up to and after the election if they place a Shinawatra in the PM or any position?

The Shinatwatras must leave politics for calm to return to Thailand.

because having Yingluck resign is a huge loss of face for them. You know how much face-value is in this society. But too bad that they dont have the balls for seppuku...

  7. 7-11 is the biggest proof of the laziness and incompetance of Thai people. One time a bunch of my buddies went into 7-11 during peak hours, there were 5 counters, around 9 - 10 employees (mind you this is one of the bigger 7-11s), and only one counter open and one employee working, while the rest were pretending to do something (but in reality they were just on their phones). After I asked them (in Thai, mind you), they just gave me a disgusting look and said some shit, then the rest just went to the back room leaving the one person to do all the work, with a good 20 other customers in line.

Needless to say, after they went to the back, we just took the beers and left. Management isnt gonna be too happy about a ton of missing beers from the stock.

You and your mates need a bye bye stamp in your passport and a heavy (leaving fee to pay) S##t people.

Complain to the manager about the staff--or NOT shop again would have been in order. Sounds to me like you already were tanked up to think of doing this, or an upbringing disorder.

    Wow you're cool!

That 7-11 staff deserved it also. And it probably sucks for you to know that I'm gonna be here way longer and that I dont need a visa to stay here at all. And I'm staying here LEGALLY. figure it out, chav

  9. When will the dumbasses in charge learn that criminals need to be punished and rehabilitated, a simple slap on the wrist and a few nights in the slammer won't change a dam_n thing !!!!!! RIP to the victim of retards....

nah the only thing their wrists need are to be removed by an axe. sometimes, that might be the only way to actually prevent them from wanting to repeat the crime. They ended the life of another human being, so I guess they dont deserve to be able to own human hands and human opposable thumbs.
