  1. Glad he travelled safely back to Buriram in one of his HondaJets
  2. Watched the 1st half. Half time we had a 2 hourpower cut. Pleased nothing happened in the 2nd half. Vietnam were awful.
  3. I am so disappointed that the word 'hub' was not used in the article. Obviously fake news.
  4. The first thing Prayut has to do is to wake Prawit up from his morning/afternoon/evening nap.
  5. Its Biden's grand daughter is getting married at the The White House. Perhaps Trump will attend as he still thinks he's the president.
  6. Invites were sent to the Heads of State. So where the Head of State is none elected The King/Queen/President would be the representative. All heads of European Monarchy attended as well as numerous others. Countries, like Ireland, Israel, Germany, South Korea and Italy, sent their Presidents. Where the President is also the political leader then they will have been invited eg USA, France, Turkey, Brazil attended. China sent its Vice President as did a number of other countries. The wife of the Ukrainian President attended on his behalf. I believe a had a minor matter to deal with at the time. Owing to strained diplomatic relations the ambassadors of Iran, Nicaragua and North Korea attended. The following countries were not invited Russia, Belarus, Myanmar, Syria, Venezuela and Afghanistan. Representatives from the UN, the EU and the Vatican city also attended. Obviously there were circumstances where the ambassadors of some countries had to attend for whatever reason. 150 countries were represented. Only the Presidents of the USA and Israel were allowed to use their own cars. The Thai community in the UK is 'not happy', by their county's representation.
  7. I've never had a crash wearing a Sunderland or Buriram football shirts. I have 5 Buriram shirts, they are very powerfull.
  8. In addition CarPluz, ThaiRent-a-car and VIP Car Rental all had booths at the airport. I believe Avis and CarPluz are still active. In addition BuriramExpats used to have a bookable transfer for all points within the province. Google them.
  9. So 4.0 published around 3rd quarter 2017. Thats pretty impressive speed from Microsoft.
  10. For heavens sake its BLACK socks and full length ones.
  11. Congratulations on referencing a great Stranglers song. In over 10 years on these forums its the first time I've seen one.
  12. I suspect the high number of cancellations are from Europeans destinations due to failed departure PCR test. So if 1 person fails in say a group of 4 the rest may also cancel in case they are positive in Thailand but who knows. This is a still from the broadcast, the Phuket figures are interesting.
  13. Yes, my wife and one of her friends are due out of LHR on Tuesday. Current number of approved Test and Go passes and the expected number after cancellations as shown on the Thai CCSA TV announcement - 7-15 January: 34,801 (10,440) 16-31 January: 16,364 (4,900) 16-31 January: 16,364 (4,900) March: 468
  14. The Thai Airways web site is up to date with the latest UK entry requirements. Don't forget the Passenger Locator Form still needs to be completed before departure.
  15. From the Thai press "Thailand’s travel ban for African countries will be cancelled from January 11, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced on Friday. Also from January 11, the tourism sandbox programme will also expanded to three more provinces – Surat Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Pha-ngan and Koh Tao), Phang-nga and Krabi. Under the sandbox programme, fully vaccinated Thai and foreign travellers must book seven nights in an alternative quarantine hotel and take two RT-PCR tests. Restaurants can serve alcohol in the sandbox and 26 Blue Zone provinces, although bars and entertainment venues remain closed. Registration for the Test & Go scheme remains suspended until further notice. From January 15, bookings under the scheme will be invalid. Test & Go bookings from January 16 to 31 total 16,364, according to the CCSA."
  16. It can't be long before we hear that they are going to build the first submarine aircraft carrier for the F-35s.
  17. Actually it was getting 2 Air Asia and 3 Nok before the pandemic. It was also getting a lot of exec jet traffic for the Chang circuit. I've seen several of these parked up there when using the airport. The circuit was also used by Kawasaki and Yamaha for off season testing of their bikes. Many regional m/c and car tournament races were also held there. The circuit was also a favourite corporate days by Thai companies. The 2022 Moto GP is scheduled for 30Sept - 2 Oct. The 2019 race attracted 226,000 people over the 3 days. One must also mentioned Buriram United FC and their regular appearance in the AFC Asia Cup, the Asian equivalent of the European Champions League. The top professional Esports team in Thailand is also based at the Chang Arena. The stadium has also been used by the Thai national team football team for non competitive matches. I should mention that the Bhumjaithai Party is based in Buriram but thats something I'd rather not discuss. Two main changes were to occur at the airport. A new and much larger terminal plus lengthening the runaway to accommodate freighters for the races at The Chang Circuit. I do hear Sukothai is a very nice town and hopefully I'll get to visit it one day as its in a part of Thailand we haven't visited.
  18. Anutin has just proposed moving the last entry date to 15 Jan. This was taken from Richard Barrow's excellent Facebook page and was linked back the Thai language newspaper Daily News. Probably a thread on this will be starting soon. "The Minister of Public Health says he is proposing for the deadline for Test & Go people to enter the country will be extended to 15th January. Announcement expected on Friday after CCSA meeting. He also noted there is a problem with some foreign tourists entering the country with fake insurance policies."
  19. I have similar photos from Patong beach from December 1983. Can't believe how much Patong has changed in 30 years. Wish I had also gone to Samui back then.
  20. We know someone to the southwest of Ban Kruat in southern Buriram in hills near the Cambodian border who grows Durian and Lam Yai. Its actually quite cool there and irrigation has had to be put in. Very good yields are had. The main problem is that a lot of that land is Sor Kor Nung (1) or so I was told.
  21. So its the Friday CCSA meeting now. I suspect that a lot is going on behind the scenes between the 'we want to keep total control (Anutin)' and 'we can live with this (Prayuth)' camps. I think Anutins 'I am ready to be PM' news conference really upset Prayuth. I note that I can still book a flight from LHR-BKK for next Tuesday. And on another note I see the UK gov is reviewing the pre-departure tests for UK arrivals.
