I got curious if it's really possible to get fined for "wandering about"
The Thai word they use is เตร็ดเตร่ this can mean "wandering" but in this context, and usually when related to a fine the correct translation would be "loitering"
I was not able to find the law, but some other sources were talking about this too, and it seems 1000thb is the maximum fine for this.
Let's see when the police gets the idea to fine people who sit at the beach [emoji6]

Food waste can be composted and in a tropical environment, decomposes very quickly. They just need to bury it in an appropriate spot.

I'd personally  take in anyone from any country who is prepared to work HARD  with zero ability to take any social security  until a minimum of 8 years is paid into any benefits system ,unfortunately many probably don't and go direct to benefits.

At least he has the balls to speak his mind .....  not like other so called democratic smoke screen countries such as Australia where all you get is BS and lies.

Actually I'm surprised your average Thai is welcoming at all. With 35 million tourists arriving in one year I'd reckon they must be at the point of telling them all to bugger off at every opportunity. That's half of the population of Thailand.

Regardless of the discount situation currently in place, I'd reckon it will be quietly forgotten once the common ticketing system is rolled out (if that ever happens - it has been a long gestation period so far).

France is not a good example. It is impossible to drive here anymore. There are automatic radars everywhere, and they are disposed mostly to make money.

I drove in several countries (included Thailand) and I never had an accident in my life. Here in France I see more and more limitations coming annoying my driving, taking my money, and making all my commuting taking longer. Road death tolls are listed around the 30th or 40th highest reason of death in this country only. But they became huge source of revenue for governments.

why only tourists? is this law aimed specifically at tourists and not people who live there or is it simply inaccurate reporting?

In many cases there ends up being a secret Thai boyfriend in the background, one guy I new was married to a Young Thai lady and when he went back to work on the rigs the Thai BF moved into the house, the whole village new and laughed about it.

Prawit is a definite liability, Prayut should move him to an inactive post.
