OP you lived in thailand did you work in thailand and earn thai wages?

Because of the exchange rates between the USD and bht the costs would seem much cheaper for you.

I got by on about 40,000-50,000 baht a month from my internet biz. I had TONS of money for fun. There was never a dull night. I lived like a Thai and blew the rest on vice. Could never do that here.

If America is such a sh#thole, and Thailand so great ....Why move back to the US???whistling.gif

The reason I may have to go back is to give my kids some opportunity at a quality education! I love it here!

    Home school.....

I am home schooling but there is a limit as to how many years one can homeschool!

  3. But the real culprit is the airline - they should leave enough leg room for tall people.

    Am I wrong?

You are right the airlines are continuing to increase their profits by many means

Charging extra for exit row seats

    Charging for baggage

    Charging for drinks and foods

And reorganizing the configuration of seats

This problem will continue until all the seats will have a permanent upright position

Ahh the fun of air travel! Lol

  4. Biking is a big sport in Thailand go into any quality bike shop in Thailand there is not one bike that is made in Thailand! LA Bike makes sure that all quality bikes carry that big import tax which allows LA to demand a higher price for their product.singha does exactly the same thing why make a variety of beers when they can sell their crap at a higher price! Also these guys are also partners in other businesses !

Think about it why are there no quality bikes or quality beer made in Thailand!

  5. Just to reply in general to this thread I lived in NY and Florida for over 50 years in my opinion if you are on a limited budget I doubt if you can find a place that has what Thailand can offer. The are only 2 reasons I can see to move to the USA one is quality of health care especially if you have Medicare and the other is if you have young children you have better school choices!
