Might be worth checking if this is a scam or someone's mistaken. There was a senior PEA official on the Thai news (workpoint 23 i recall) yesterday apologising for not notifying they had changed the format and colours of their bills.

Marriage to Thai civil servant...free healthcare?
Farma replied to VinnieK's topic in Marriage and Divorce
I'm married to a public servant and receive free healthcare under the close family scheme. I can receive govt hospital treatment with referrals to private hospitals for MRI's etc if required. For more serious problems like cancer I'll receive standard treatment but it's worth me using private cover for better treatment. However it depends on what scheme the public servant is in. I'm told as part of cost cutting measures newer staff dont receive the same family privileges. -

I have 2 gathering dust. 1 Chinese and the other a popular western brand. I jokingly refer to them as 7-11 detectors nowadays. They detect anywhere with motion detection doors or gates. Also detect newer cars that use radar for cruise control and truck trailer proximity devices. I found a much better option is a free phone App like radarbot (although it costs if you plug it into your car audio). Free on your phone it provides fairly accurate warnings relying on users to notify permanent or temp speed/red light camera locations.

I'm reliably informed this can happen in govt hospitals. It can take time for Bangkok to process initial wages. Some hospitals advance staff wages from hospital funds until the official pay arrives.

Depends what you buy. We spend around 6+ k baht a week in makro mostly on drinks and snacks. Occasionally an item we purchase has a gift which shows up on the receipt. We collect from the "tam" counter outside the checkouts. Normally something smallish a bottle of M150 but have received cooler boxes and a grab delivery type bag in the past.

Immigration. No more Residence Certificates.
Farma replied to phetphet's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Maybe a misunderstanding. My upcountry immigration office requires an official request from a govt department or embassy to issue residence certs. They told me to see land transport and get a residence cert request from them. I took the request back to immigration and they printed off the free residence cert while I waited. -

I know someone in the health dept heavily involved in licencing and inspecting farms. Theres a huge push from above to promote its use. I suggest you contact your local MOPH office for guidance. From what I've heard in conversations its not a simple matter of planting some. Soils and product are sampled and have to pass regular tests for various unwanted minerals, chemicals etc. Regular farm inspections are carried out by Moph teams.

English signage tax
Farma replied to recom273's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Recently had the local team visit with tape measures in hand. I drew the line when one woman entered the premises trying to measure English signs inside. When challenged she said she can tax them. She backed down when shown para 8.5 of the Thai version of the attached file. 810238_0001(1).pdf
