  1. Thanks for the good replies, I will not say anything but be prepared to explain why.

We will be getting my son his passport when we go back. I was worried about waiting time for that.

When we applied the only reason we gave for returning was we might want to school are son in the uk in the future

so did not want to sacrifice that, and she is a single child and looks after her parents.

    Guess we were lucky.

  2. My gf and son where granted tourist visa's for the uk a few weeks ago.

when filling out the online form, we said would be staying for 14 weeks.

Whilst looking for flights I realised we could stay for Christmas, for only a small amount more,

    so booked them.

This does mean we will be in the uk for 16 weeks now.

Do I have to inform them? or if not will it affect future applications?

    Many thanks in advance.

  3. I personally think that if you are well liked in your village, and the tramps family are not to big or influential, you will not have many problems telling this guy.

The rest of the village would probably enjoy it, especially if they are being cocky with there new wealth.

With regards to the guy, I feel he is a little dense or caught up in lust. Why else would you be spending all this money on someone you only see for 2 weeks a year.

I have now doubts that this man may be trying to work hard save money, so he can come live a good life in the future with his gf, but doing it this way rarely works.

How many men of here would remain celibate in the 20s early 30s if they had an older thai gf who sent them lots of money and only visited once a year?

For the first time in her life she is not living hand to mouth, has all the free time in the world with no worries and is in her prime looks wise. Its a breeding ground for disaster.

Also to not notice the changes to her body, either it be extra weight gained, stretch marks, larger sensitive leaking breasts or even changes to the under carriage. there are many signs.

  4. I personally think that if you are well liked in your village, they would not have a problem with you letting this guys know.

they would probably enjoy it, especially if the family are being cocky with there new wealth.

Just explain that this guy would be on the bones of his arse if it carried on and ended badly.

Regards to the family they will never talk to you again, but no loss there. I would not worry about reprisals, they are already 1 up with the house and car over most other's in the village. the girl will go back to work and no doubt be hooked up with a holiday maker in no time.

With the man in question, if you tell him he will either thank you or not believe you. if that's the case no big loss as he only comes 2 weeks a year.

To be honest I think the guy is a bit dense, no one can believe they are in a real relationship when they only visit for 2 weeks a year.

Also not to realise she has had a baby, we have a 4 month old and the misses body have changed, the main thing being larger, sensitive and leaking breasts.

  5. I think you are right about the confidence, that's why she want's to learn with others. That way she can get used to group conversations, and build some confidence before we go.

Also having a 3 month old we have little time where we are both free, so going out for a few hours a day, might be a better learning environment.

  6. Hi all.

My gf and I live in isaan with are son, who is 3 months old. we are all going to the uk at the end of august, and my gf is worried about

her English, she speaks and understands quiet well, but finds it hard to follow in groups or fast conversations.

she want's to go on a course for a month before we go, and I also want to learn Thai and have a swim in the sea.

we are looking for a clean beach location, with good language school, and not to overprice accommodation. i.e. around 10,000-12,000b for the month.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  7. You say you met your g/f in England, whilst she was on a tourist visa. since then she has returned on another tv.

I was wondering what job she does to afford this? as you said, you do not give her cash and her family don't seem to be rich.

without an original uk sponsor, or a good job to allow her to save enough to satisfy the financial requirement.

  8. Hi all.

I am currently here on a double entry tourist visa, the first 3 months are almost up, so tomorrow i am going to the border at nong khai/ Vientiane

    to activate the second entry.

What i want to know is, do I have to go over the bridge and enter Laos , or do i get the exit stamp on the Thai side and cross the road and

re- enter and pay the fee all without crossing the bridge?

    many thanks.

  9. what a bunch of miserable gits. The guy shared two beers with the man, they weren't on a drinking marathon.

For all you know the security guard could be based at a booth outside and his job is to check people

going in and out. Which he could still do, but with the enjoyment of some company for an hour.

so with the curfew his night would be very quiet.

  10. Hi all

Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel/guesthouse, in close proximity to the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel? 518/8 Ploenchit Road.

My parents are visiting Thailand for the first time, so want to be close, but don't want to spend that much on a room as we

    wont be there much.

Would prefer under 1000b but will go up to 1500b to be on there doorstep.

    Dates 17th to 19 April.

    Many thanks

  11. Actually, I do understand what the OP is writing about.

The façade of Thai showmanship when it comes to BIG Face.

The bigger and showier the gate, the bigger the Thai smile.

As many posters have already pointed out ... 'tis but a veneer,

    a flamingo without substance.

We've just had TWIN boys ... cuties actually (but every Dad would say that).

My partners Father is just itching till they can walk, and he can stroll into TESCO with a white boy in each hand

... and believe me ... they are very white ... BIG FACE for him ... almost better then a new car in the driveway ... laugh.png

    .

You should of mentioned before, you have had twins.

    Congratulations. ;)
