I have to meet some family in Naples, Italy in December.  I have just started looking at flights and it looks like the best value (time and $) will be the new Air Italy non-stop route to Milan and then a train down to Naples.  A flight shows up on Kayak and some 3rd party sellers Dec 15-31 return for ~640$ but it doesnt show up as an option on Air Italy's site yet.

Any other suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

If it goes late or playoffs, the local tv might turn it off. It happened a couple of years ago. I would have a back-up plan just in case,

I am thinking of changing positions so I will cancel my NonB/Work Permit at my current school, travel out of the country for vacation, and enter again on a tourist visa. Then, apply for a new NonB with the help of the school with my tourist visa.

I would rather not travel to Laos.

I just looked on Skyscanner and Air China flight from Bkk to USA is around 10,000 baht cheaper than the next airline (Qatar). I am looking to fly in December so the best prices for United/Delta will probably be made available next month or so. I have previously flown United and Delta on this route and been satisfied.

It appears Air China just bought some new Boeing planes so it might not be too bad. Any thoughts?

Most of the CTH package channels on Vinasat 2 are Irdeto2 encrypted so requires a CTH box that has the decryption chip and codes built-in.

I don't really understand this. Right now, I have a CTH box and package that works fine. If I buy a RS box 1,500 baht for the World Cup, can I just connect it and it will work. I see them trying to sell these things all over the place (even 7-11) so I assumed they would connect to any Sat.

I have moved twice and received my deposit back both times. On the first move, it came 2 months without calling. On the second move, it came 4 months after canceling with multiple calls.

I would keep calling them about it.

Here is my trip report:

I had an appointment for 7:30 at USA Embassy on Tuesday. I left my hotel at 6:45 but due to traffic jams from school opening, floods, and accidents, I arrived around 30 minutes late. They diddnt seem to bother. The process is pretty easy and it took around 1 hour and 1500 baht to get the Form notarized. They had the Red Sox game on and a decent coffee shop so not a bad wait.

From there, I used a Translation service recommended by them in the next building over. It took around 1 hour and cost 400 baht. During this wait, I walked down the street to the Starbucks. There is also an Au Bon near there.

I took a taxi from Wireless Road to Chaeng Wattana and think it cost around 150-200 baht but not sure. I went to the third floor to get a number. You do need a copy of your passport picture page. I didnt have this so I had to run down to the 2nd floor. The line took around 30 minutes and had it sent to me via EMS. The total cost with EMS was 460 baht. Today, it arrived without any problems (2 days).

All finished by 11:15.

I know this doesn't help with your question but consider going to Koh Chang instead. Its really not that much farther and it is a much better island. I've been to both on several occasions and would only go to Samet if I want a one night getaway (I live in Rayong.)

Vongduen is not a bad place and location. (Again, much better rooms for the money on Koh Chang)

Is it possible to get it translated nearby, then certified at Thai Foreign Ministry in one day?
