I assume assume he is entering visa exempt since there is no 30 day tourist visa.

He will get a 45 day visa exempt entry now that can be extended for 30 days.

He will first have to apply for a 90 day non-o visa entry first and then the one year extension based upon retirement.

Requirements for the visa application is here. https://bangkokimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/08-edit_NON-O.pdf

He will need the 800k baht in Thai bank for 2 months when he applies for the extension near the end of the 90 day entry from the non-o visa.

He will need a letter from the bank confirming his account and the balance on the day the letter is written and copies of his updated bank book to prove the money has been the bank for 2 months.

Once again, thank you very much for the information UbonJoe.

    A great help as usual

I will forward this to him.

  2. I have an American friend coming to Thailand the second week in June.

He will be on a 30 day tourist visa. He has been vaccinated 2 times.

When he leaves quarantine he want eventually to get a 1 year

retirement extension in Pattaya. He has a bank account with

    the required funds.

Could anyone please tell me what papers he will need and

what  exactly he needs to do to obtain this. All answers much appreciated.

  3. Hi, a question for Sheryl.

Can you recommend where to buy Tenofovir ( Teevir )300/200/600 mg

    cheaply in Pattaya?

I am paying about 1200 baht for a 30 day supply at the Pattaya International Hospital now.

    Your help would be appreciated.

  4. Hi all, just a quick question.

My brother is arriving today from the UK

on a visa exempt for 30 days.

He will be staying with me in Pattaya for the duration.

Do I need to go to immigration for a TM30 for him?

I live in my sons townhouse so dont have a rental contract.

    What documents do I need?

Thanks in advance for any infos.

Of course there is an EMS tracking service for couriered passports. You either tell them that you will collect in Bangkok - or you choose courier - and pay for that service.

    Which did you have ?

We paid 265 baht for their courier service.

I am well aware that EMS from Bkk to Pattaya costs 60 baht and is

guaranteed next day delivery. I have used this many times.

But VFS use their own courier service and I was told 2-3 days and no tracking available.

  6. Hi all.

I am helping a friend with an application for a visitor visa for the UK

    for his Thai wife.

We have applied, had the interview and were told by SMS on the

4th of April that the passport was ready for pick up in Bangkok.

Then 1 hour later another SMS, as we had paid for a courier service

it would be sent to my address and would take 2-3 days.

Today is Friday 19th and still no passport has arrived.

I have e-mailed the VFS in Bangkok 3 times but have received no answer.

    What can I do?
