How does the song go? It's A Family Affair.' So it doesn't mean he is not guilty? Just too late to charge him because he fled the scene.

So, other than that it was a happy marriage.😉

My spiritual exercise is lifting a couple of gin and tonics most evenings, while relaxing on my veranda, enjoying the lush vegetation and cool breeze. I think it's called chilling out, in the modern parlance.😉

Why do these reports always feature the commanders of the various squads/stations when it’s actually the lance corporals and sergeants who actually conduct the investigations?
in the UK the commanders might appear at a press conference for an extremely serious or troubling case, otherwise they are not mentioned.

On 5/9/2024 at 4:24 PM, snoop1130 said:News broke into the public domain yesterday, May 8, as a foreign family sparked national outrage after allowing their daughter to urinate publicly at Bangkok's Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Wat Phra Kaew is not just a major tourist attraction but also a site deeply revered by Thais.
Harit Thavornkij, the eyewitness who exposed the incident, shared an image on his Facebook account of the deed taking place, right outside the palace, inciting a furious response from Thai netizens. Quickly gathering steam, this post has sparked a contentious debate, lightly touching on issues of tourism, respect, public decency and xenophobia.
The photo shows the unidentified foreign couple carelessly observing their young daughter relieving herself, an act perceived as a direct affront to the temple's sanctity. The post has since exploded virally, amassing over 2,600 reactions, 680 comments, and 1,400 shares, with netizens largely expressing dismay and anger.
Many clamoured for stringent actions against such disrespectful behaviour, with calls for blacklisting the family to safeguard national and religious monuments. Others called for a clampdown on visa regulations for tourists, as one user commented, "It's time to focus on quality tourists".
This indignation was noted by Tourism and Sports Minister Sermsak Phongpanich, who told MGR Online that the act was objectionable due to the temple's sanctity and could somewhat tarnish the image of Thai tourism.
However, not all opinions leaned toward outrage. A number of Thai citizens felt the reaction was overblown, highlighting that the young girl herself might have had an urgent need and was too little to understand the gravity of the situation. They argued against locking out tourists based on isolated incidents of misjudgement.
Amid this defining national debate, one Thai user called for equality in the treatment of offenders, suggesting the couple should face charges or fines as a Thai offender would have. The user cited a previous case where a Thai man was punished for spraying graffiti on Wat Phra Kaew's wall, bringing to light possible double-standards in the way local law perceives foreigners vis-a-vis Thai nationals.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. The sky is falling in. What do you do when a young child is taken short. The person that took the picture should be vilified. Should be ashamed of his or her self.

Re. My 'Anyone confused by TM7 form' question. I did my application yesterday 8th May at Jomtien and it went very quickly. Maybe because my wife was in charge as usual. The only hiccup was that I had to go and get another photo, this time with a white background. No comment on the amount of Tippex white paper I'd used on my application form. The young officer handling the application recognised my wife from previous years and congratulated here on all her documentation being perfect. As for me. I sat like a dummy and kept schtum. Passport to be collected Monday.. It used to be 'after 2 o'clock.' Then 'the next day.' Maybe the accumulation of public holidays has caused the delay. Anyway. I'm chilled out till next year.
It reminds me of the advise supposedly given to the colonial ladies' If you are being raped, there is nothing you can do about it. Just lay back and thing of England.'😉

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had been working with Thailand's Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to extradite Mudaliar, a 37-year-old US citizen of Asian descent. He is reported to be 180 cm tall and weighs 90 kg.
Mudaliar's criminal past includes numerous violent attacks, kidnapping, rape, and forcing his victims into sex trafficking, according to an article in Matichon. Mudaliar was charged with 11 counts related to sexual violence, assault, and sex trafficking, all of which could lead to life imprisonment. He avoided court appearances after being released on bail.
Thailand had been Mudaliar's home for over three months, the FBI discovered. Since arriving in Thailand in February on a tourist visa, he had been moving around constantly, mostly staying in hotels and rented apartments throughout Bangkok.
Mudaliar was known to frequent local nightlife spots and interact with both Thai and foreign women. He often invited women to his place, but there haven't been any reports of offenses committed against women in Thailand.
After extensive investigation, the police nabbed Mudaliar in his Bangkok apartment on May 6. He will be extradited to the US for subsequent legal action.
The CIB proudly revealed its successful operation, noting that it only took 10 days to locate and apprehend the foreign offender.

Does anyone else get confused about the way the TM7 form is laid out. Time and again, I fill it in and then realise that I've filled it in under the wrong headings. There must be a way for Immigration to produce a form simple enough for ninety year old codgers like me to get right first time. My brain hurts.😉
Has anyone submitted a computer printed TM7 that's in black ink to Jomtien Immigration and its been accepted?

Do you really say that word all the time?
I just don't let other people scam me. I don't think about being a victim or mention that word.
I think that word is now severely overused.
If someone was kidnapped, that person was a victim. Someone who paid 100B too much is something different.
Yes. but you are forgetting the mental hurt that those believing to be victimised are enduring and how they feel so offended. You are so insensitive. In the old days a "f**k off" would have sufficed.😉

Well said Sir. It just amazes us non Americans, that a large part of the US population cannot see what a threat he is to their country. They seem to enjoy the razzamatazz that the USA is noted for that he uses and seem to be blind to what he really is. Would anyone want their daughter to marry someone like him? A man who openly boasts about sexualy abusing women. A very dangerous, narcissistic individual.

The best thing I did was to start doing my 90 days report online a few months ago. I sent mine it at 0825 this morning and received approval at 1235. I've never had a problem with it. Next week I'll be doing my retirement extension at Jomtien. I hope my experience will be just as hassle free. Fingers crossed.

Having a teacher from either London or Manchester, or both, or an American teacher, or all three, is good for students.
The classroom should reflect the diversity of the real world.
We do not live in a world filled by people speaking only one language, or one dialect, and with only one accent.
I enjoy listening to different accents.
But, I think I am most partial to the speech patterns of The Fine People of Ireland.
Does anyone recall that great film:
Filmed in Ireland, it was....
The Irish brogue of Barry Fitzgerald. But certainly not in Belfast.
