Over 400 Thai firms suspected of foreign nominee operations
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Come on. How you can be smart enough to invest yet stupid enough not to think that paying someone to use their name to do something you are not permitted to do yourself, would not be considered illegal? -

If the proxy used was fake or there is discrepancy with the way the ownership was gotten. Of course it can be seized. -

That job description was given by your employer when applying for the work permit. -
Woman Injured After Monkeys Snatch Her Bag With Food
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
You really do not know anything and make ridiculous comment regarding this OP. This is Lopburi where for as many years as I know in Thailand (+12) they have deliberately allowed the monkey population to grow simply for tourism. They fed them hordes of food and permitted them to freely go through the city. When covid hit and money was dried up the food they gave them was scarce especially when the monkey population had increased so much. The monkeys did the next logical think to spread out even more across the city in search of food. This has nothing to do with your comment. In the past year or 2 the city has been trying different approaches to reduce their population without success. Now the locals are getting their things stolen by them as well as tourists. The temple that hoarded them and made it a shrine for them also is suffering. The woman should sue the city for the attacks. The city should have had the monkeys relocated to the island they have reserved for this. But the monkeys were a tourist draw. SO nothing every was really done to stop their growth and brazen behavior. -
British and Norwegian nationals arrested for illegal employment

My gut on this says she was doing a job that was not authorized by the work permit. Making what she was doing illegal. Work permits are given out for one job description only. Anything more than that is considered working illegally. Especially if it is a job set out to be given to a Thai -
Swiss man who allegedly assaulted Thai doctor faces additional charges
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Agreed about the deportation. Too risky for anyone with this tempermental jerk. But first he needs to see the inside of a Thai prison first hand. Even if he pays his way to do a Thaksin with his sentence. He should have fled Thailand while he had a chance. -
Swiss national opts for jail after assaulting Thai woman in mall
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I would have to agree... The Thaiger News just published an article about how to get a criminal records check. Beat the system: Nail your background check with a record. https://thethaiger.com/guides/visa-information/beat-the-system-nail-your-background-check-with-a-record Seems something is in the wind about this otherwise the news would not be pushing narratives like in that article. -
THis really is the medical hub of Asia. Miraculous recoveries after being released from the hospital for serious medical problems. So serious they kept him out of prison for all his sentence. I am confused at the Thais reaction to all that has happened. Ohh! there was no reaction and no one seemed to care

Over 400 Thai firms suspected of foreign nominee operations
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Are you kidding me.. 99% of businesses in Thailand that are really owned by foreigners are on paper using Thai proxies owning 51% and the foreigner 49%. It is the biggest scam in the country spanning every major tourist city. As well as property ownership with land, condo ownership, etc... There are many Thai companies created by foreigners as well for the sole purpose of purchasing land or opening businesses that also use this method. Why now is the government playing dumb pretending they never knew this was happening? -
Huge street battle between Thai and Filipino transsexuals being probed
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
From what my old lady said. And what I read. This incident was initiated by the Thai LB. So why are there not any charges for assault given to any Thai LB? -
Bangkok airports hit turbulence: Ranked among world’s worst
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Do not fret, by tomorrow there will be other news showing how great Thailand airports are and that this one report was from some obscure ratings company that made false claims. Thailand is the HUB of many things including their airports. Just ask anyone who is in a supervisory position within the government -
British man quits England for Thailand’s tropical tranquility
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
More so, I suspect the Thailand news is trying to put a spin on how good Thailand is compared to England even. It seems the latest news released is full of articles similar showing Thailand in such a good light. Opposite of all the really bad news there has been in the past week. Do not misunderstand me, Thailand is a good place to live. But I ask myself how this young man arrives and stays and plans on becoming an expat here with little income and not married to a Thai? His visa should be getting expired soon as the article shows him here for a couple months already. -
Thai abbot found burnt in forest shocks local community
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
self immolation maybe. WHile the police are searching for the killer, perhaps they should also be investigating the abbot himself for wrong-doings. I do not think any one would kill this abbot in this fashion without some serious foul-play done by the abbot -
i never said Biden gained financially.. i said his family used his position as President and he was sitting right there in their meetings with other countries with them knowing he was there in the meeting. This was a stated fact given by the son in a court of law a week or 2 ago. That is using your power and position as the POTUS to get favor or gain. No matter how you want to twist it. I do not hate Trump or Biden. But apparently you do as shown in your comments. Perhaps you can name 5 things Biden actually did that was good for the country?

No Big Jump Of Chinese Tourist Arrivals At Chiang Mai Airport
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I meant at the beginning of covid. When 100s of thousands were permitted to travel when the government already knew covid was rampant. -
Swiss “doctor kicker” previously verbally assaulted an ambulance driver
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
If this picture is supposed to be this foreigner blocking the ambulance. It is clear that the foreigner is also blocked in traffic in which case he could not move out of the way anyway. As for giving the ambulance the finger seems a little harsh but perhaps this was caused by something the ambulance did while behind the foreigners car. maybe yelling over the PA for the foreigner to move when it was obvious he could not. This Swiss man is having everything possible that can be made to show him in a negative light come to the news. Perhaps the news is trying to fuel the fire to Thais and enticing even more anti-foreigner feelings to spread to an already prejudice issue. -
Chinese tourist killed by a pickup truck on his first day in Thailand
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
This should not be difficult to find. How many pick-up trucks could there be with sirens blaring? Oh wait.. That would be every police car. Hmm... Perhaps they should begin the search within their own department.
