  1. That's pretty good news. To be fair, TG food is actually quite good.

Not in First or Business. TG is one of the few airlines now where premium class food is neither plated, nor garnished in the galley, and it shows. Food is often dried out and/or over cooked.

Glad to see someone is aware of the fruit issues. I had more than a few instances of rotten or poor quality fruit.

I just hope they emphasize the Thailand aspect in their menu.

Never been in first so I can't comment on that but business and economy food has always been up to standard. People will inevitably compare TG to SIA and Cathay and other 5 star airlines which I think is unfair. But if you compare TG to other 3-4 star airlines like BA or EVA or Lufthansa among others, service and meals on TG is actually very good.

But the point you miss, or choose to ignore, is that Thai is charging higher fares than those higher rated airlines. The onboard food is adequate, the food in the lounge is disgusting , eg the same dreary white bread sweetcorn with mayo sandwiches and sugar crusted pastries they have been serving for the past 25 years ( with the relatively recent addition of some chicken tikka to coincide with evening departures for India).

It's possible to once in a blue moon, if there's a really special offer, to find an SQ or Cathay flight that's cheaper than TG but it's very unlikely. However, I will admit you can actually get cheaper flights on business on Cathay to LAX quite frequently. But forget about it for Europe and other Asian destinations. SQ flights especially are so damned expensive. I fly quite often mostly on Star Alliance and frankly, while TG isn't the best out there, I find it odd that people slam it when it's actually pretty good.

As for their lounge, I like their chicken pies and the hot soup noodles they have are okay. They may not be gourmet food but to say that it's disgusting is an exaggeration. It can get crowded at times but unfortunately it serves all Star Alliances passengers so it can't be helped.

  3. GOP haters may curse them for doing this but let's be frank here, no other president, Republican or Democrat has been so weak as to let this happen to him. Shows what a clown Obama is and how much respect they have for him.

This mentality blows my mind. Republicans act disrespectfully...and that's Obama's fault?

Obama hasn't earned respect yet. So why shouldn't his rivals treat him disrespectfully?

  4. Martial law always sounds bad to outsiders but it hasn't actually affected my life personally any way.

That's alright, then. Clearly no cause for concern here.

Instead of being a smartass and dishonestly editing and answering only one part of my post, why don't you answer the question I asked and tell us how martial law here has affected YOU directly? clap2.gif

Because it's a fatuous question.Nobody is interested in whether martial law affects you.

Which is why I asked how it was affecting others as well. Duhhhhh laugh.png

  5. Martial law always sounds bad to outsiders but it hasn't actually affected my life personally any way. And for those people who post here crying about liberalism blah blah blah and all that, has it affected YOUR life?

I like the fact that we don't have idiots on both sides, yellow or red out there right now protesting and fighting each other because the army won't let them.

Martial law sounds bad to outsiders ?

People who post for liberalism are crying bla bla bla ?

It hasn't your personal life ?

Howe simpel and selfish can you bee. You promote Thailand to stay a third world country.

    Get some education.

Oh, so in your educated (?) mind you believe that martial law and military rule is just going to lift Thailand right into a mainstream developed country status. Keep on dreaming!

    ?????????????????????

Martial law won't last foreve but while this country is still under martial law, this military government can cut through the usual political BS and clean house.

  6. That would be against the law, which says it all..

Makes more fun to be a smart ass... then to be an "ass licker".. who ever may feel concerned

Martial law Limits the rights of People to speak free, look TV free, Vote free, handle free, and.. much more..

also because some "ass lickers" spy around to report "smartass" people to get punished only because of different thinking and talking..

Awww that's so pathetic. Someone has different thinking as you and he's an 'ass licker'? Who's ass is supposedly being licked?

Spy? Oh dear! More boogeyman out there from conspiracy theorists! The ammarts are out to get you! cheesy.gif

Do you actually stay here or are you posting from overseas? Educate YOURSELF. Thailand IS a third world country and if some liberties have to be given for peace, why not?

Were you here during the protests where gunfights took place and bombs went off? Not just the one last year before the coup mind you, but also the 2009-2010 ones, Right now, the country is at peace and it will stay that way.

Yes it affect my life and many others but ask your self who need a law to protect them against there own population and because you don't se it what is the chances that the problem just get bigger

And what makes an idiot some one who use sky laps or some one who fights for there freedom

Well I am not a grammar Nazi usually, I must say, punctuation is your friend.

Many foreigners who depend on condo rental income have suffered this year due to the lower number of tourists, along with any other foreign owned businesses that depend on tourism. And, all the Thais who have lost jobs, or who's business is suffering as a result of the non-existent high season.

But, as long as you're allright, jack, should not be a problem.

Oh yeah. Having yellow shirts and red shirts protesting and fighting with guns and exploding bombs was just what the doctor ordered for tourism! thumbsup.gif

You're full of it. The fact of the matter is, it doesn't really affect you directly and you know it. People like you always invoke the boogeyman argument when there's nothing really to argue about anymore. Well done. clap2.gif
