  1. We were in Pattaya recently and while the courses are good, they are far from the hotels and the night spots. As plan to be in Thailand next month, we are considering other options where the golf courses would be not too far from the hotels/night spots. Any recommendations please..will Hua Hin or Chiang Mai be fun or any other alternatives and if so, names of hotels/golf courses will be much appreciated..Cheers

  2. Probably Chiang Mai but don't dismiss Chiang Rai out of hand. Yes smaller and quieter but still worth a visit. You don't say how long the short visit is or what you might want to do during the day. You could, perhaps, fly into one travel over land to the other and fly back again.

Well there you have it I've all covered options :D .... I think :o

Tks, plan being there for about 3 nites..ideas on the right spots/hotels at both locations wud be welcome..Tks :-)

  3. Am planning a trip to the North and considering either Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai. Night life/fun would be a major priority but do not necessarily like it loud and raunchy. Which would be a better destination and recommendations on the right spots would be much appreciated..Cheers

Chiang Mai has nightlife in every different form you could want, whereas in Chiang Rai it is virtually non-existent. Try and include it for a mini trip if you can though, for it's other qualities.

Tks for yr thoughts..wheich area would the better nightspots be and which hotel would you recommend that would be conveniently located..may do a Chiang Rai trip by land and appreciate any info on the hotels/nitelife there too..Tks

  5. Anyone for a round of golf at Banharn or Chulaporn Dam ? Banharn is closest to me but Chulaporn is nice and I don't mind the extra drive.

Can meet 2 or 3 times a week. no weekends. pm if interested.

I wud like it and am planning to be in the region in abt a week..how far are these 2 courses from Khon Kaen n what are the green fees there..Cheers

  6. Am planning to spend some tome in the Northeast..Khon Kaen, Udon Thani..hows the nite life and fun activities there..also are there any golf courses there..are there any other areas in the Nort East that wud be better..Tks

  7. Am planning to be in Chiang Mai around month end..where wud be the jazz bars be..would Imperial Mae Ping be a decent hotel to be in..me and my gf are interested in nitelife, music and golf..any advice on golf courses or driving ranges that are close n not too pricey..Cheers :o

  8. I just stayed at the rydges - it was awful.  It wasn't really any aspect in particular - it all seemed pretty crap.  They serve leftovers from dinner at the breakfast buffet - how else would you explain veg chilli for brekkie?  The coffee is terrible - they must use their grinds over and over.  No gym.  No changing room for the pool.  The pool is freezing!  There is grit all around the pool because of construction.  The rooms are like a holiday inn/travelodge.  The hotel just smacks of being finished off on the cheap.

Which place will be close to the nite life and fun..and the golf?

  9. Ot in San Kam...cant get much closer to the golf course....
