    He has.

    Ignorance is no excuse.

He is the one that signs the forms and declarations.

    Incorrect.

This particular agent in Pattaya does not require any forms and declarations to be completed and signed.  They only ask for passport, photos and the relevant fee.

I have never personally used this agent and I never will.  The above is purely an example

  2. Take for instance, a person who is not a ThaiVisa member and does not even read this forum.

This person is currently on a multiple non-immigrant O visa and let's say he resides in Pattaya.

On the expiration of his final 90 days he would have turned 50 yrs of age and he believes he can apply for a retirement extension.  As he unaware of the requirements involved and being a lazy person, he searches for an visa agency in Pattaya

He locates an agency and pays the fee of B15,000 for a retirement extension.  Within a day he has secured his extension.

This person has done nothing illegal.

What exactly do you mean, when you say can be "activated on-line."

As I stated, if you have been married to a Thai for a considerable amount of yrs, you were only able to obtain a KR2 from the Amphur where you were married.  As I have now learnt,  regardless of the length of time you have been been married, you can now request the Amphur where you were married to activate the process on-line in order that you can obtain that KR2 from any Amphur in Thailand.

As I reside quite a distance from Chonburi, this info came as a pleasant surprise.

Over past four years I have not had a problem getting the KR2 from various district offices and my marriage was over 45 years ago registered in a different province.

Yes, that may well be so, but was it an on-line copy you received or a registry copy (two different forms)?  If it was a registry copy,  the amphur where you obtained a KR2 would not have those details and therefore would have to contact the Amphur where you were married to obtain the relevant details.

What I am saying is whether you have been married 1 or 45 years, you are now able to obtain a KR2 from ANY amphur in Thailand by informing the Amphur where you were married to activate the on-line process.

  5. I recently attended Meuang Chonburi Amphur the place I was married many years ago to update my Kor Ror 2.  In the past I've always had to attend this amphur where I married due to the old marriage registry entry not being on-line throughout the country.

i was pleasantly surprised to be informed that all registry entries, regardless of what year those persons were married (in my case over 20 yrs) can now be activated on-line at the Amphur where you were originally married, i.e. you can now update a Kor Ror 2 at any Amphur in Thailand.

I would think this would not affect too many people who were married to a Thai over 20 yrs who have lost, mislaid or whatever their original marriage cert and have to resort to a Kor Ror 2 in order to obtain the required visa or extension, but good to know.

Usual docs required, copies of wifes ID, your passport, marriage cert.  The fee remains the same B20 per copy of the KR2.

As I can't be doing with all the hassle and rush and squeeze I'm going over a day early. Taking pick up over have all my paperwork done and following a well set out procedure from another Thai visa member with lots of great tips from MJCM. Will be able to travel around a bit at least.was going to stay in new aura Residence but as Avalon is or was when I booked the same price but with breakfast thrown in I plumped for them.

Avalon residence doesn't include breakfast although there is a cafe next door.

Good one, but the main question with this scenario is, will the bus wait for you, while you get processed on your Visa on arrival at the Laos side ?

Maybe another member can confirm this ?

The bus doesn't always wait.  Just wait for the next one.

I've had no problem during the last few crossings I've made.

  8. Before the expiration of your multiple non-immigrant O visa in December of this year, you can action another visa run in order obtain to a further 90 days stay which will give you a total of approx 15 months stay, i.e. until March 2017.

In March next year you will then need to apply at immigration for an extension or alternately, obtain a further multiple non-immigrant O visa which will give you a approx a further 15 months stay in the Kingdom.

  9. Here is one report claiming that the full 5K wasn't in the account for the 6 months, and they still got the visa. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/870548-the-multiple-entry-tourist-visa-topic-metv/?p=10231380

That was shortly after the METV was launched and I would suspect they will be less flexible now.

'I would suspect' is not a good response.

Harrison, give them a call to ascertain the correct requirement.

    Simple.

    Enjoy.

  10. Before booking to sit in an uncomfortable and dangerous van for a few hours, I would suggest price checking how much it would cost to fly on Airasia to KL and back the same day. Sometimes the cost is comparable because of no visa requirement for Malaysia and I think it is a way more comfortable way to do a visa run. Also you don't loose a page of your passport to a big green Cambodian visa. smile.png

Its a short flight and KLIA is a nice big place to chill for a bit while waiting to fly back to DMK.

    Exactly.

  11. On 19 September this year my current visa expires and as usual, I intend to re-activate this visa in order to obtain a further and remaining 90 days which will bring me up to beginning December.

In October, I will be travelling to Cape Town for a wedding and returning the same month.

My question is, and I believe I may know the answer is (1) am I able to apply for a exit re-entry permit and on my return to Bangkok use up the remaining days, i.e. till the beginning of December or, (2) would I need to apply for a new non-imm O visa before I travel to SA. I believe the latter to be correct.

    Thanks.

  12. @Torrens54

The OP has a 1 year multi entry Non Imm O Visa based on marriage to a Thai obtained from an Embassy/Consulate in his home Country.

He must cross the border every 90 days to reset his next 90 day stay.

If he stays permanently in Thailand he can apply for an 'extension of stay' based on marriage to a Thai with proof of finances of 400,000 deposited in a Thai bank for 2 months prior to the application, or an average monthly income of 40,000 baht.

Or, apply for a further multi non-imm O visa which again will involve 90 day visa runs.

    The choice is yours.

    Enjoy.
