  1. After the MFA have legalized my affirmation, will they send it to me, or must I collect it from Bangkok?
  2. Hi, I'm going through the requirements for the affirmation. It says I need to provide names and addresses of two people, who don't live in Thailand. I've been in Thailand a long time and have lost touch with everyone. Is the embassy going to contact these people? Also, what's the easiest way for getting the translation done and sent to the MFO. I've heard, if you use the service recommended by the embassy, they will deliver it to the MFO for you.
  3. If you don’t tell them you are living outside the UK, you will be fraudulently receiving pension increases. This is 2023. The Government can join up all the dots now. When they catch you, your pension will be set at the rate it was when you left the UK. You will be required to repay all the increases and other benefits received.
  4. I've just received the 'Proof of Life' form from the UK pensions office. It took 6 weeks to arrive from the UK. What is the best way to send it to the UK within the time limit and avoid non delivery problems?
  5. I have a old 4x4 SUV converted to a camper van. I know people with full blown camper van conversions, mostly built on the back of pickups. There are lots of Thailand camper conversions on YouTube. Aircon is the killer... finding places with an electric hookup suitable is not easy. Thailand has some wonderful national parks that offer camping. There are plenty of good campsites too... some where you can literally park up on the beach. Most have toilets and showers. We've never been refused because we have a van, not a tent. The SUV suits us. Most of our time (including cooking and eating etc) is outside under the awning, so we only need somewhere to sleep. The van has a decent solar setup, sufficient to run a fridge and large fan overnight. A camper conversion based on a minivan would be more comfortable. Although it would have been more expensive, initially, I did plan to go down that route. However, Thailand has so many cheap hotel and guest houses, it just wasn't worth it.
  6. Hi, I'm planning a trip to Malaysia by car. Do I need a car passport? Can I buy the number plate stickers before I go, or do I need to get them printed at the border?
  7. Thanks for all the replies. Just an update. I did change my address to a Thailand address. It can't be done on the app, it must be done on the website... I tried the app and it directed me to the website. There is a select option for a foreign address.
  8. Just to clarify here. Did you also just change your address to a Thai address in the app? Were there any questions or problems?
  9. I do use Nationwide Internet Banking, and have done for years without issue... but the account is registered at a UK address I no longer own. Now out of the blue, they're asking me to confirm my UK address.
  10. Does anyone use the Nationwide UK bank in Thailand. How are they about having an address in Thailand?
  11. Hi, I have a 22-year-old Mitsubishi Strada 4WD resto/mod project. Most parts I can buy from a local factor.... or Lazada, but sometimes I get stuck. Is there a good online motor factor in Thailand?
