I heard that the power is meant to be out again 21-22 is this true?

Heard from two separate locals and also someone wrote on here that there are trucks driving around saying the power will be off.

Seems legit at least this time it's expected... Looks like cold showers and take away for another few days...

Cannot give source, but the main cable was only fixed on a temp basis, thus power outages can occur again at any time to an extend as previously experienced. Have not seen or heard of trucks though.

All that is being done is bringing the Samui infrastructure up to a level that was needed some 10-15 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love the place and doubt I will ever leave.

The powers that be 10 years ago didn't do f*** all to better Samui's infrastructure, in sharp contrast to the recent mayor. I'm among the people that hope he will be vote back in again because he tries to make a difference and he even manages sometimes.

Chaweng from Focus Super Market south starting to flood after 45 min heavy rain, the new drainage system is as effective as a mosquito bite on the a.. of an elephant!

....expected after Pepsi split with Serm Suk its distributor who now bottles his own cola drink called EST. It may be some time before Pepsi is available again if they can secure a deal with another bottling plant. Better stock up, especially businesses who have Pepsi printed on their menus.

Nanny and cook in one person, I would look at at least 15,000 per month.....it is a short term job (2 month) and just finding the right person is already difficult. As suggested earlier, speak to some locals, may be hotel guys. Don't forget Christmas and January are high season, and with an already difficult work force, it will not be easy to fill this post.
