  1. At least she is attempting to find a home for the dog, she could dump it on the street if she wished, I don't believe when someone take a dog as a pet they intend to leave it behind, but situations change, so why give her a hard time. Didn't some of you guys leave your dog or pussy at home when you came to live in Thailand.

Yes, I remember that time, she was a real dog ! :o

  2. With all the issues going on on the island putting on a big Festival just was not on - but we decided eventually that a small scale Festival should go ahead. We know it is last minute so we do not need to be told that.

It will be held exclusively at Coco Blues from Friday 29th September to Sunday 8th October.

See the Festival Web Site for up dated details as things are still changing in respect of the schedule.

We know from previous years that we will never please everyone, so if this is not your music, sorry.

We have a number of Thai bands again including Blackhead, Sek Loso, Fly and The Sun.

We also had the opportunity to bring out some Danish Bands, Nalle, Rob Tognoni and Sweet Glam Jam plus a band from Georgia, T Blues Mob.

We have also invited The Blues Machine from The Blues Factory in Pattaya and are pleased to confirm that they have accepted and will be here for the Friday and Saturday 6th/7th October.

Please check the web site for up dates.

5000 Baht per day for that??? You're having a Turkish mate!!

Could be Afghani too :o 5,000.- is a bit high mate, please try to re-consider so that some poorer farrangs and Thais can also attend at least once.

  3. I was just interested to hear accounts from those that are currently in Samui/Phangan of what is the impact or effect, if any at all, from the military coup in Bangkok presently unfolding?

Are the locals acting any differently? Has anything noticebly changed on the Islands?

Its gonna be over by today, latest tomorrow I guess. This is the 20th coup since 1930 and if I recall correctly, the last one in 1992 was over within a few days. After announcement this afternoon we will know more. God bless the King !

  4. If it sucks don't go there - easy solution.

Over 700 people, many Thais, went there last Saturday to see Sek Loso so some people do not agree with you. It was full last night as well.

If it offends you stay away and let the people who do enjoy it do so.

i wanted to see Loso but balked at the price, 1200 for less than 1 hour of music! you can see pretty decent Thai bands in Samui like Clash, Hyper and Punch for 200-300 baht.

Fah Thai (PG's in-flight mag) is advertising for this year's music festival........let's see :o

  6. Definitely Abramovitch, I saw him in Burger King last night having some Chicken Tenders. I asked him what he was doing, he said he just came ashore from his boat to go to the tailor's to get measured up for a couple of pairs of trousers. How the other half live.

:D:D:D sure, Abramovitch gets his outfits in Samui .......fashion capital of southern Thailand.......

Anyone else seen Elvis at McDonalds today ? :o

I am confused !!! Do you mean that the serving of stingray was tasteless or were you referring to the punch line of this particular joke !!!!!!!!!

Q: How many croc hunters does it take to capture a sting-ray?

A: Apparently more than one. Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is now serving Sting Ray...

Punchline is tasteless, sting ray itself is actually pretty tasty and can be found on many menues.....

    Thread closed !

  8. Q: How many croc hunters does it take to capture a sting-ray?

In many ways not the world's wittiest joke, nor the cleverest-constructed punch-line, but it was on an Eastern Europe website so, bless, they're trying their best.

Pretty tasteless to say the least :o

  9. Anyone know what they are building on south bound lane on Chaweng Lakeside road? :o

Its only temporarily and meant for a food festival.....totally crazy (one -way system) and traffic gets worse with Chaweng Beach road being one-way already.

Do you know when the food festival is going to be?

I have heard its starts on Friday, something like a big 'temple' fair.....

  10. Just for your information, LOVESUN is a former employee of Rocky's. She and her husband got married with us in October last year. They loved the resort and he came to work with us as a chef in January of this year. After five months it became clear that he wasn't able to get the kitchen working.... our food cost was still too high, the staff were serving cold steaks to the guests and cold french fries, and unfortunately we had to let him go.

I am not a chef, but seems that there is a service problem rather than a chef problem.....

  11. as the Santaburi is so ridiculously expensive, what are the options.

any golfers like the idea of a weekly meet at a driving range for beers and hits?

form our own club (samui whackers?) and pressure Santiburi for deep discounts?

I am an OK player ( 4 handicap) and would also happily help beginners with the basics and have a bit of fun.

Tiger won again this morning on the 4th playoff hole, Cink did well but sank.

any thoughts welcome, starting to get the fever after no golf for 5 months!

Good idea to form "own" club, however, forget about pressuring Santiburi as it won't work.

There is another course being discussed/build between Chaweng and Lamai which will be much cheaper as well.......
