  1. If this is for determining if you are the father you want to go for the much cheaper and faster blood type test.

Do a search for possible and impossible parents/child blood typing. You can be excluded in some child/mother blood types. Only if you get "possible" match would you go for the DNA test.

I would guess any of the major hospitals can do it.

Been round a couple already in Pattaya, they don't do it.

  2. I have posted this in the Health Forum but got no response. Is there any where in Pattaya that provides DNA Tests ? I have 'searched' the Health Forum but the posts were from a few years ago.

  3. I am 53, and have always been rather over frequent with peeing. The matter is compounded by the fact I drink lots of liquid, particularly tea. I think I have some sort of progressive problem though as my trips to bathroom are getting more and more frequent and my bladder seems irritated very often.

I don't have any specific problems though.

But I guess I really must check out my prostate, and would anticipate some enlargement.

I have access to a good hospital or clinic (Thaksin Hospital Surat).

What would the standard test be, what can I expect?

This a link from the NHS in the UK.

  4. Tomatoes.....thumbsup.gif

I was recommended tinned tomatoes rather than fresh also water melon and Pomagranate which all contain lycopene. I am taking lycopene tablets and have just ordered some Pomit-T Supplement a herbal remedy recommended to reduce PSA Levels.

  5. I was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, after numerous tests it was found to be contained in my Prostate, it was Gleeson Level Six, Seven and above treatment required. For me it's 'Active Survaillance' , check up at my local hospital in the UK with the Uroligist every three months. I had plans to settle for a bit in Thailand but now need to return to the UK every three months for check ups which is proving expensive. Is there anywhere in the Pattaya area where I could have a three monthly check and at what cost ?

  6. Chairs back today, Thursday, yesterday there was a JCB moving sand about. Chairs/Loungers need to be provided for tourists/people on the beach but need to be limited to certain areas. Bearing in mind over the holiday period it was difficult to find empty ones. The price was 40 baht before the holidays but one 50 baht.

  7. Yes been there got the T Shirt, had a trip up Isaan last New Year, started with visit to the supermarket for some beer, ended up with a convoy of trollies behind me, WTFDID ? In the middle of nowhere, no idea where I was at ten o'clock at night. We went out most days but when it come to pay for fuel, food etc they just stared at me ! Thais expect you to pay for everything why ? Is it because we are a guest in their country or we are treated as walking ATM's ? The family all work and have trucks/scooters so not exactly skint.

Another time they visited me in a hotel next thing the kids are all having showers and the adults were hungry, are they are just cheeky b******s and push you to the limit until you say enough is enough, then they seem offended when you say no. I was asked to go to Isaan this New Year, no way !

  8. I stayed in 550 baht a night place less than 20 square metres, very small en suite, 3 square metres, shower encroached on the toilet and Thai music till six in the morning, you only get what you pay for.You might get a place for 10000 baht a month long term but it will probably out of town.

  9. I am an optimist.

If there is even a slight chance that you could be the father, and knowing the chances of you getting anybody pregnant are extremely slim and she still insist you are the father then maybe keep an open mind.

Unless she is asking for money.

I think you said earlier she has not worked for a year and you are supporting

    here. Right?

Then she would have more to gain by lying until the DA check.

How often do you see her? Do you live in Thailand?

Yes I have been supporting her but less than £80 a month, she lives in Siricha, cost of living cheap. I have been back and forward to Thailand since last December, I met her at Christmas last year. The conception date is borderline, vascectomy could have failed as my previous partners couldn't have kids. She is with me tonight, still adamant she was not sleeping around, saga never ending, apologies.

  10. There is a 0,01% chance there could be 'leakage' over the years which wouldn't show up in a one off Fertility Test. Hey I am not naive but it could happen, We will have a DNA test when the baby arrives. Yes I have read all the stories, heard about Thai girls but she is adamant she was not sleeping about. I am meeting up with her tomorrow and will speak with her again. I have been with partners, not Thai who couldn't have kids for one reason or another so yes some thing might have seeped through.

  11. As a matter of interest do woman have to pay medical cost when expecting ?

Peanuts, depends whether you are dumb enough to book her into some fancy private hospital, or go with the 30 baht scheme as do thousands of other Thai women every day.

To cut through the Buffalo crap, answer, NO.

She went to a clinic in Siricha, her adopted town, cost 1800 baht, I didn't pay, to see to see a Gynacologist, a scan plus some drugs. How does she qualify for the 30 baht fee ? She has not worked in the last year. She did go to the government hospital in Siricha but they told her to come back in a week. She has said she will only qualify for the 30 baht fee in her home town in Isaan.

  12. My girlfriend of a year is expecting. Shock in fact very stressful but more to the point impossible. I had a vasectomy 32 years ago. Trip to the hospital, scan, 14 weeks gone, (how accurate are they time scale wise ?). My brain wasn't in gear so didn't count the time back to the time of conception in the hospital. When I eventually did I was not in Thailand, the date was 16 days before I arrived back. I also arranged a Fertility Test, recanalisation can take place, for myself which came back negative. I told her to leave immediately which she did. She denies adamantly she had been sleeping about. We had some great times, she comes from a decent family, was married for eight years. She is now calling me everyday, tell her every time, not my baby and when born it will have a DNA Test. Hey I won't be the first farang who has nearly been trapped.
