U-Tapao has been there since 1965,

Yes Jacko....and all the planes that were leaving were full of bombs....1/

If you really want to do an honest comparison--Take any country in Asia--and give a Secondary Airport that is great to land at.

A shortage of manpower when more than a few planes arrive--sure  that can happen at the main airports--will & can U-Tapao handle great numbers---yes of course it will--it was the only "Bangkok" airport operating at one time---2/

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-Tapao_International_Airport

1/---In 1965 the US government gained the assent of the Thai government to allow US to upgrade the airfield and use it to support combat operations in Vietnam.

2/ With the temporary closure of Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang Airport in late November 2008 because they had been occupied by anti-government protestors, U-Tapao became for a time Thailand's main supplementary international gateway.

You would like to Compare Utapoa with Hong Kong--not some of the many like sized secondary  Airports  in Asia........OK

Were you in Asia 19 years ago when  Chek Lap Kok opened --I was living HK then, I thought they did a great job in moving it--but teething problems, yer they went on for quite some months and had the usual whining & complaining........Oh maybe you were around then......

Happened to me once in Japan also .

Thing I noticed about it was the way he said it .

He said it quite friendly, quietly in a humorous way ,

He didnt seem to say it in an inquisitive official way .

Im sure that some people got caught off guard and replied "Ive got a little bit for later"

Yes I got the same treatment...but I think a little lost in translation..

Him-:  Do you have anything in your bags that I should know about....

Me-: No nothing that you should know about...

    Him-: OK have good stay..............:omfg:

Not only is it possible, It was done.

Enoon the street was open then..... as said before---- its no longer open even for foot traffic...Tourist would walk down take a photo of the policeman standing outside number 10---..

Did you not read my link.....its all closed off now after that attack---can not be done (That way ) now

launch some sort of improvised explosive device"

Which is what the IRA did, using a homebuilt mortar and projectile, from 200yards (180m) away in Whitehall:

No that isn't possible Enoon---Westminster is surrounded by empty spaces (Thames embankment, Westminster Bridge etc) making it quite easy to stop a truck and fire something, Downing street is a very small (as in narrow)  a rocket would not be able to go up then down into it.

Anyway it seems they have realised that wasn't the plan (if it ever was-)-and issued a statement a short while ago laying out that the plan to attack her was as below--BBC and on-line newspapers

The security services believe they have stopped an Islamist suicide bomb plot to assassinate the Prime Minister.

Two Muslim men are suspected of conspiring to attack Downing Street armed with an improvised bomb, suicide vest and knives.

Investigators suspect the pair wanted to detonate a bomb disguised as a bag. They would then attempt to kill Theresa May armed with a suicide vest, pepper spray and knife in the aftermath

  7. I see the only response to the OP--3 Confused -- As someone who knows London a little I have to agree with that--- There is no Vehicle or foot traffic Traffic allowed in Downing street no tourist, no Viewing......for quite some years.... since the IRA

Unfortunately for tourists, 10 Downing Street is not open to the public.

As a matter of fact, you can't even walk up to the residence,

let alone walk down Downing Street.  --- London Viewing Tourist site

Often there is no way of judging any situation in life unless by comparison--- i.e if everywhere is worse... how can this be bad---compared to what in Asia.

I have flown in there from Issan and the place has been empty. I would get more upset at an establish Airport Don Muang , that doesn't seem to be improving.Heathrow can not handle the traffic at times--- I have sat on the floor of many airports in Europe wondering just ..what is "Schengen"  all about.

  9. Your a bit tough guys....this has only just open..(on this scale ) .

looking at the pic... I have seen much longer queues going into Hanoi/PP/Bali,

    (and of Course Heathrow London.)

Probably high Tec KL/Sing is the only Asian places to breeze through.

    -------------

Not sure what you refer to as old immigration prospero--? I do you mean the nearest Immigration (Maptaput ) has moved in there--is there an immigration office in the airport... or are these  just immigration guys for the Airport.

I'm not sure he was forced to sell Manchester City but regardless,, he still doubled his money in a year to make 20 million quid profit.

Yes HHTel..I think it was more a case of .."Did he jump....Or was he pushed"

Taksin managed to buy the club over a lot of criticism.. Mainly because his lawyers kept declaring that he had no convictions against him.... this changed after he had brought the club as he was convicted in absence in Thailand. So he was the sitting owner with convictions and  an arrest warrant outstanding from Thailand, so was once again under the spotlight.

    Q. Tell me more about the Premier League's `fit and proper person' test? It's accepted Shinawatra would pass it because he does not have any criminal convictions. Is that true?            A. That's partly true. The "test" exists in an attempt to ensure that the people involved in the running of our football clubs are fit and able to do so and are not involved in any dubious activities.  http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/10-key-takeover-questions-997171

After the sale Taksin  held the position of Honorary President, but was removed from the position in February 2009 after a Thai court convicted him for corruption. The following month, the club ceased their operations in Thailand.

So hold onto the club HHTel....after the conviction he couldn't even hold onto an honorary position---

Taksin Paid nearly twice the amount the club was thought to be worth at the time, paying up to 40p and more a share that was rated at 19p—25p at the time---but he did still sell it at a profit , but also managed to miss out on its real wealth. As Forbes explained--- However the value of the club has soared nearly fivefold from £210 million in 2010 to £900 million in 2015** according to Forbes representing a realistic opportunity of profit on Mansour's investment if he was to sell the club to a willing buyer.[4]----Wikipedia

    ** Its now a Billion £ club

  11. Any decent printing place will copy them from the internet and print whatever size you want, the places that print up signs and banners (house for sale etc) will even do them on a type of canvas--it looks good like a painting.

My friend got about 50 different things from the internet, Thai Boxing etc...had them printed like that. Took them to the markets in Oz, all sold quickly. I had some Andy Warhol stuff for an apartment...they even put the frame in (inside it) wrap the picture around it.... I think it was about 150-200 Baht each in Issan

  12. At the moment under DOS attack so closed the Webb site--but can reach it through its F/B page all this week-end they will take on new members---- if you are into UK TV..... this has everything, even down to last nights Welsh news--+-- it has re-runs all the older programs --Plus it has all the BBC Radio programs...(if anyone listens to that format now)

Are you Australian ? I can only talk for Qld, but they let you go just under 1 year over/out of date with the right to still renew --when you get there, I did it last time, also as I wasn't sure I went into the Diving centre here (Thailand) and got an international licence ---just 2 photos...never a problem with an international.....
