  1. Used cars in Thailand are ridiculously over priced. I think this is why you see so many rusted old death traps on the roads because people just can't afford to replace them.

so many rusted old death traps on the roads ?.... Must say not seen many rusted cars/trucks here... on the other hand many new cars/truck you can buy without Airbags or ABS, and even thinner metal than the old cars/truck, so not sure which is the death trap ? of course you can buy new/newer with Airbags that don't work.. another major recall for this.

Lets see an old 70's Volvo or 80's Benz, 1,000's of them on the road or a brand new tiny car with no safety, think I will go with the old one, thanks. seen a few accidents old v near new here, mostly the old one has come out far better.

Todays cars are designed to absorb the impact of an accident and protect the passengers.

Older cars were solid and didn't absorb the impact of the accident, it was the passengers that took the full force of the impact.

Airbags wont deploy unless the vehicle is travelling at a speed greater than 60kms per hour and a front side or rear side impact wont deploy the airbags either.

  2. The coup in Egypt came with more than 3,000 dead but the US wouldn't call it a coup for fear that the legislative mechanism from the Congress would kick in. The Americans were also concerned about losing a strategic partner.

That's because it was most likely orchestrated and backed by the US.

The USA didn't interfere in Egypt because the muslim brotherhood were in the process of turning Egypt in to a sharia al qaeda state.

    What's your agenda ?

"The Muslim brotherhood were in the process of turning Egypt in to a sharia al qaeda state".

What's wrong with that...let them wipe each other out!

If they want to live in a world without modern education, sanitation etc... let them, its is futile, to live like that is to be nothing more than a pack of savages crawling around on all fours and barking at each other like dogs, it wont be long before they have wiped each other out and good riddance!

My agenda is to go fishing every day, and every now and then I like to throw out a coloured lure to see who bites! and this time it was you! hook line and sinker!

  3. Stealing wood from the forest is as heinous as any crime committed against an individual or a corporation. Why is it that some Thai people think it's Ok? When I lived in Australia I never thought about stealing wood from the state forest. What's wrong with these people?

My wife got told off by a tree hugger for picking an everlasting off the road shoulder of the freeway.
  4. We need to make this the last military takeover

This is a very admirable objective and will require a huge amount of work from the military before the next election.

The military will need to " Adjust the Attitudes " of many of the criminal politicians in Thailand.

Perhaps jailing them for 20 years as was done to the Rice Miller last week would certainly make them think before they embark on another criminal corruption spree.

It worked for Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin!!

  5. Typical of why politics is a mess in Thailand.

It's the democrats fault that the Pee-euw Thai Party has lost popularity.

The sad thing about that is that he and his followers, believe it!

All I have to say about that statement is Take two steps back and take a good look at your self before you start pointing fingers at anyone!!!!

  6. I paid 8500 Baht per pole and 800 baht per meter of aluminium core power cable and 1000 baht for two guys from the power company to connect it all up (including fitting the poles) to the house and power meter

The power meter was 450 baht

  7. Shit! there goes all of my rubber plantation workers!!!!

So you are exploiting illegal workers then?

Is it the cheap rates you are making your profits off?

Working without permission is illegal, if an employer can't make sure his workers at least get themselves legally registered, then sure... I hope their business grinds to a halt.

Enforcing these laws is the first step to controlling the slave trade and it may help if the RTA start actually targeting the masters of these illegal and exploited workers and give them a 100,000 baht fine for each worker found in their employ.... In the UK it is a £10,000 fine per illegal worker, and it gets enforced.

Tell that to the Puyai, good luck with that, he wears a .357 magnum on his belt too.
