New laptop?
Just get any new one in your budget. For a Windows PC, if thats what you want, 8GB (16GB better) RAM and 500GB SSD should do. Go for Win11 - don't need older os.

I ran CCleaner and Storage sense and it deleted all my downloads
Its just user error. I'd stick with CCleaner, Glary even more troublesome.

It would be a 2km walk. There are motorcy taxis near stairs of Pink Line GC station to the Imm front door for 20THB. Not sure about getting back to Pink Line tho?

Connecting Thai QR code payment to a foreign credit card.
Like someone else said cash is not always accepted now. As for Wise debit card wouldn't you need a foreign phone number to get that as Thai SIMs don't work, so that is an added fee on top.

A good alternative to Bitkub: UpBit thailand allows me to scan the chip in my passport and complete full verification.
Because just like other Thai crypto exchanges they will just kick you out in time to come (I have been with Bx and then Bitkub since 2016). Voted with my feet and only trade overseas now.

Lazada Credit Card refunds - time taken?
Thanks for that. Yes, Lazada does say to wait for next billing cycle so I will do that. Until your reply I was uncertain as the daily activity of my card shows nothing like you say. Hopefully it works out and I can continue to use their service.

Lazada Credit Card refunds - time taken?
I bought a prepaid item online late November and paid for it with a Thai bank credit card. The Lazada vendor then immediately cancelled the order within 5 minutes as they decided they had no stock after my order. Q. Lazada now says the refund was processed to my card a day later and if I don't see the refund on my account I need to call my bank. Has anyone experienced this? Is calling the bank futile? Surely its up to Lazada to ensure I get refunded? Its only a small amount so I have not wasted time with my bank or Lazada following up so far except I can see online my refund is not on my credit card. I will follow up though when I get time to see if I am ever going to use Lazada again?

Buying a laptop from USA
I've bought a few online thought no as expensive. Its 7% on any declared price of the product inc shipping costs. I have used Fedex easiest arrived on my door 5 days later - just pay them the 7%, if you use UPS for a first time it requires registering your passport ID at BKK airport before they release it. If you have to return it, maybe DOA, then there are several documents to complete at Thai courier to re-import radio parts of the laptop back to USA - I had to do this once and got a replacement sent.

Thai Bank or Thai Broker that allows you to buy US stocks
Last time I looked international account openings at SCWB were starting at 25000 USD. Other brokers like IBKR no minimum but will need a few thousand at least to get going.

What policy is that? Never heard of it.

The Problem With EVs
Pretty unbelievable I would think - assuming you didn't buy second hand to start with. Most EV's lose 10-15% year one alone and another 10% by end of year two.

- Electricity and fuel prices are expected to increase next year
I have a room I use one day a month with a fan and the MEA bill is 40THB for one day. Rest of month I disconnect the electric. Are MEA bills not the same as PEA bills, 160THB seems impossible to me?- Wise digital credit card
But with all this nonsense and tit for tat about dates why hasn't anyone mentioned the OP never had a digital credit card to start as Wise doesn't have credit cards, just debit cards in select countries.- Bitkub is asking for KYC again. After logging in KYC is disabled for foreigners....
Cannot you also withdraw/deposit to/from a bank without need for Paypal?- Bitkub is asking for KYC again. After logging in KYC is disabled for foreigners....
Actually took a few minutes, there was an email asking to confirm the tx out and after OK the money in KBank in a matter of seconds. So thats BX and now Bitkub done and dusted, won't be trying any more Thai exchanges.- Bitkub trying to withdraw THB???
I just tried this and it worked in seconds. My KBank account received the amount as soon as I pressed confirm on my email. I got the email within minutes of setting up the transfer on the Bitkub web site and used Google 2fa. I decided to transfer all my funds out of Bitkub since they are asking for KYC documents again or threatening to stop trading later in month December, I already went through that 2 years ago, and now the section for foreigners for KYC is blocked. I left 2THB in the Bitkub account but doubt I will use it again.- Bitkub is asking for KYC again. After logging in KYC is disabled for foreigners....
OK, thanks. I just found an email from them saying I need to update the KYC documents. I tried it and the link doesn't work for foreigners. I liquidated my crypto to THB and initiated a transfer to my linked KBank they say takes 24 hours - lets see. Bye bye Bitkub.- Bitkub is asking for KYC again. After logging in KYC is disabled for foreigners....
Just reading about this first time today. The Bitkub home page is confusing me, do we all have to update our KYC info again or if it says verified from two years ago we don't need to do anything? - Electricity and fuel prices are expected to increase next year
