PETERTHEEATER replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It became heavily restricted because certain hositals were found to have been ordering up large stocks, ostensibly for patient prescriptions, but were selling it on, illegally, to third-parties who were using it as a precursor to manufacture Class A drugs. -

Oldest person found at 114 years old, living in Krabi
PETERTHEEATER replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
In the era they were born the registration of births was often delayed and the hand-written Birth Certificates on soft paper liable to self-destruct over time. The recorded details from information supplied by parents, usually illiterate, resulted, in many cases, with no date of birth and or no month of birth being recorded only the year. For example, my own wife, now 76 has only the Month and Year recorded. Her younger sister has only the Year recorded. Their Thai passports reflect this. The true age of these centenials will never be known and are often exaggerated. My wife's late aunt made it to 107 but by then she was blind yet mobile. Good luck to them. -

Thai tourism sector proposes 300-baht tax to counter over-tourism
PETERTHEEATER replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So....let me guess how this is going to work. You log-on to your resident Thai Embassy website and navigate to the 'No Visa Wanted' section and fill in your personal details. Check the box next to 'I confirm that I will not be entering Thailand for the purposes of Tourism at any time' Go to the Payment page and pay the equivalent of ThB 300 in local currency by Pay Pal. Seems like a fair deal to me......😋 -
Pattaya panic: Grenade scare rattles resident
PETERTHEEATER replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
It would be preferable to defuze the grenade rather than defuse it.😋 Putting a tyre around it will not prevent detonation. At least it wasn't put in a bucket of water.🙂 Two bullets? Could be fishing line weights.- 1 reply
