  1. Very happy to pay an agent.Just coming up to my 3rd retirement extension. If I had brought 800k from Australia at less than 20 baht to a $ I would have lost more than 3 times what i paid the agent for a visa and 2 extensions
  2. AS i understand it anyone in that travel party will face quarantine. Also those sat next to an infected person that is not in your travel party. 12 year olds and up are allowed to travel solo if vaccinated and they will face quarantine alone.Thats why i have backed out of bringing my daughter so far.
  3. Use the Wise debit card and pay in the local currency always ie Thai Baht in Thailand. No fees and about a 0.35% off midrate conversion.I haven't found anything better
  4. UbonJoe My Retirement extended Non O expires in 3 months.I am leaving Thailand for around 10 weeks. Is my plan to leave on the last day of my retirement extension and then re enter 10 weeks later on a 30 day exemption then convert to Non O and extend on retirement again a realistic plan. I dont have to pay for 10 weeks of visa and can come back with 1 months insurance rather than 10 months. Appreciate any thoughts
  5. Its got nothing to do with tax or National Insurance. The rule is if you are living overseas you are not entitled to return to the UK to seek medical help for free. You are however permitted to decide to return and live there and immediately be able to use the NHS system for free. You would be wise to get a few utilities connected in your name before trying to access the system.
  6. I try to avoid it but i'm certainly not scared of it.Its a bit like crossing the road,I avoid the busses but i'm nit scared of them
  7. Tell the agent you are going nowhere without a full refund of deposit plus at least 2 months rent as compensation Contrary to what people will tell you on forums like this you are actually quite well protected by law.
  8. Tell whoever is hastling you that you don't recognise their authority and to get a court order to remove you.See out the next couple of months to cover what you have paid out and then leave
  9. Getting hold of the last 3 years accounts will help. Not having any sinking fund could signal a future rise in the maintainance fee.Accounts will show cash at hand ,outstanding owner fees and will give you an idea whats getting spent where.Having 3 years gives an idea if things are heading in the right or wrong direction.
