  1. Fan of Nordic Noir? Keen on Comedy? With Fallet you can watch both at the same time. I like it.

"Part satirical comedy, part crime drama, Swedish series Fallet is both overly familiar and refreshingly original at the same time. Spread across eight 30 minute episodes, you’d be forgiven for thinking Fallet will wind up like other satirical spoofs and lose its comedic edge late on. Fallet defiantly bucks that trend and manages to walk the fine line between serious drama and laugh out loud comedy to great effect right through to the final episode making for a surprisingly enjoyable series."

I've seen some pictures shared on social media, but not from an official source, so the information provided on those pictures could be wrong:

The current existing motorbike licenses may be used for riding small as well as big bikes as long as they are valid.

So if you just renewed your license recently you don't have to worry about the big bike license any time soon.

I assume if you extend them the next time by default you would only get a "small bike license", and have to apply for the "big bike license" separately.

This could be wrong, don't take it as a fact, I didn't see any official announcement yet.

Great, thanks. Any idea when mine's due?

  3. I think like many things here, different local offices may have different interpretations. As for mine, when we visited the DLT a couple of months ago I prompted Mrs BM to enquire about it. A couple of the officials had no idea what she was talking about, a third did, spotted the farang and laughed. "Mai bpen rai" was the answer, no plans to do anything about it here in the foreseeable future.

The book was a good read and the film a good watch, let's hope the miniseries can live up to it. Not commissioned yet so could be a while before we find out. I have to admit to being a fan of Cumberbatch so am looking forward to this one, thanks.

  6. A bit of an old one, we're watching Prison Break, just at the end of season 2. It's pretty engaging as long as you can take the "conspiracy" stuff with the proverbial pinch of salt (clearly too many idiots have trouble sorting fact from fiction with conspiracies).

I see there production is in a long hiatus after seven seasons. Those who have watched it, did the plot suffer from so many seasons or did they manage to keep up the momentum?

For anyone who hasn't seen it:

  7. Fans of the Man of Steel aka Superman will no doubt be aware that there's a new series starting tomorrow, for the rest of you......

    Superman & Lois

"After years of facing supervillains, monsters and alien invaders, the world's most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent and comic books' famed journalist Lois Lane come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever -- dealing with being working parents in today's society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois worry about whether their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, could inherit their father's Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang and her Fire Chief husband, Kyle Cushing. The adults aren't the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle's rebellious daughter, Sarah. Of course, there's never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois' father, Gen. Samuel Lane looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment's notice."

Yes correct BB, but TandT is a straight shooter,

BB  how can any dinky di,mngr, make a decsion to Sub a Sub takes a lot of fortitude, and full mark,s to TandT  he was on the money.

Did his genius use of subs get the three points? No, thought not. And as for his cringeworthy prancing along the touchline that's just embarrassing.

Just got my marriage visa extension in Chiang Khan. I was told that there will be a home visit set up for tomorrow sometime. I was told that I need to find three witnesses and have them come to my house when the immigration arrives. They said they will call my wife to arrange a time for the visit tomorrow sometime. I need to know if one of the witness could be my wife's brother who lives in the next village. I have two other witnesses that are Thai friends who live about 3 villages away and they have agreed to come when the immigration will be here. Should I ask the village chief who knows us well to come to our house as a witness? Anyone who has been through this please let me know what to expect.

Our office only asks for one witness, we get my sister-in-law from next door to do it every year and it's always been acceptable. They ask the same things every year like where, how and when we met, how long have we been married, am I a good boy, so it won't hurt to prepare them for that type of question. It's always been very amicable and there's never been any suggestion of payment/tea/petrol money.

Good point. I suppose it is just possible he doesn't have an occupational pension, perhaps Evertskram could confirm this?

I took early retirement at 55 and came to Thailand  shortly afterwards. Money was tight at first, had many setbacks (global financial crisis, thai wife's debts, a baby, then Brexit) but lasted until State pension kicked in. But i did at least have a plan and didn't squander all my savings on a woman and then look for help when it was too late - I just cut back on the luxury's of life and budgeted.

Pretty similar story to mine really (except for the debts and baby!), I managed to get out a few months before my 55th, held off drawing my company pension for a few years but had it to fall back on when Covid pretty much stopped my wife's business.  Still a few years before my state pension kicks in. We still have a great life out here in the sticks.

You can do whatever you want - plug your computer into the TV or you can stream them from your computer over WiFi, there is no buffering.

But I get you, the best thing is whatever is best for you, and if you don’t have a way to mount all those drives in a central point then it’s difficult. Just saying, If everything is organized and easily visible, then you spend more time watching it over anything else. It’s not like you need to do anything really, the media centre scans the drives and finds the titles, artwork, descriptions and whatnot.

I'll pm you as I'm a bit uncertain about how this works and I don't want to hijack the thread, thanks.

The best move I made was to use install a media player, my choice was Jellyfin, and make one volume and organise all your files. Maybe even delete some.

Thanks but I don't quite get this, I don't have much space on my computer? If I upload to this then presumably I have to stream them to watch, currently I just plug in a box to a smart tv?

    Clarice

    Episode one is on RARBG.

    The reviews have been poor.

Summary: A look at the untold personal story of FBI agent Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field about a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

I watched this first episode and found it quite ok, don't want to "spoiler" it si I'll just say perhaps one character's attitude was stretched a bit far but that wasn't enough to stop it from being watchable and indeed enjoyable. Of course others may have different opinions.

Something that had been sitting on my server for a while that I was ignoring - Unbeleivable - from Netflix.

A bit dull in the first couple of episodes, but I was really engrossed in the final 4.

Based on a true story https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unbelievable_(miniseries)

I don't have a server but I have a few (well six, actually) external hard drives with a combined capacity of thirteen and a bit TB. This show is one of the many on my 'pending' list. With some 550 films and 33,761 tv episodes there's probably more than enough to outlast me.

The problem is you lot, who keep coming up with new things to watch!
